I thought the second embodies the first as well!
First simply acknowledges leadership/authority and the second is acknowledging and doing in accordance with Him.
There are people who do the first but don't then do according to Him so missing out part of the second - i think.

The meccans used to bow physically to the idols in the Kaaba before the quran.

And I think the bow in the quran if there is one would be something like-
bow - phrasal verb
to do what someone else wants you to do, usually unwillingly
