    peace all

My understanding of hajj is "debate", not arguing(jadala), but debate, or reasoning....basically what we are all doing here o)

i know its not really a hajj topic, but would like to ask if you could explain more in detail how it means 'debate'
as in quran it is mentioned few other things regarding hajj, like mt arafat or circling something....

    bytheway, welcome back gw

        Peace be upon you,

I have received several messages recently regarding my view of the programming(salaat), so I would like to bump this thread back to the top for more discussion. I hope there will be some good discussion and/or debate.

          Wa Salaams,

Wow. Just today I posted something regarding de-programming myself from what I believed to be the correct way to pray. Now I read your post on salaat being conditioning/programming.

So maybe I should reconsider my train of thought...very interesting read.

          With Peace,

          Amina

I totally agree about programming our subconsciousness to change our perception of life etc etc.

But we do not need Qur'an for that.

            Anyway, excellent posts @GodWithin!

I think to boil down the message of salat purely to programming/conditioning, is too simple.

I hold salaat to mean the contact prayer. You can hold salaat at any time, and anywhere, and potentially without moving your lips. Your intention through salaat could be to ask for help, to thank, to ask for providence upon yourself or others, etc. The result is, inshallah, manifestation of that which you prayed for, which reinforces itself in your mind as the truth -- the truth being appealing to the mind, results in you engaging in salat.

                Salaam all.

                Incense Burning!
                Seriously?

I think to boil down the message of salat purely to programming/conditioning, is too simple.

                Totally agree!

                (443) You, you those who believed, do not approach the programming/conditioning and you are intoxicated, until you know what you are saying, and nor distant from God/impure , except crossing a path, until you wash yourselves with water , and if you were sick/diseased or on a long distance travel, or any of you came from the toilet or you touched repeatedly the women, so you did not find water, so wipe your hands and face with dust , pure/good dust, so wipe with your faces and your hands, truly The God is often pardoning, forgiving.

                (512) And The God had taken Israel's male children?s promise, and We sent from them twelve chiefs, and The God said, "I am with you, if you maintain the programming/conditioning , and you brought forth the purification, and you believed with My messengers and you supported/aided them, and you lent The God a good loan, I will substitute from you your sins and I will enter you (in) gardens, the rivers flow from beneath it, so who disbelieved after that, from you, so (he) had misguided the path."

                Doesn't make sense.

Personality disorders and defects arise when one programs themselves negatively. For example, an avoidant will repeatedly tell themselves that they are worthless and useless and it slowly sinks in, over the years. The end result is a shell of a human being, worthless and useless because of their own conditioning. All addictive behaviours have a root in bad conditioning as well. Suppressed emotions, shame, etc; there is a mountain of evidence to suggest that gambling, alcoholi, sex and even drug addictions arise from this behaviour. With this in mind, how amazing is it that LSD-25, an agent that throws one into a dark room of introspection, locks the door and throws away the key until sanity is restored, is a more powerful tool for treating such behaviours than the 12-step process? Either way the worst is the schizoid condition and let it be assured that none of you want to get into that mindset

Character defects, addictions, are different to Mental Health problems, such as Personality disorders, Bi-polar 1-2, Schizophrenia, Cyclical Mood disorder, the list goes on. Yes I agree that CBT, Talking Therapies, LINK Groups can help people become aware of one's character defect. Mental Health problems are very different. Talking Therapies, One to one counselling can help, but a lot of people need medication, some of these illnesses are quite serious.
I do not agree with the meaning Programming/conditioning. Why wouldn't you want to praise The God, throughout the day? Why wouldn't you want to bow down to your Creator, and be grateful? We can still help the suffering in the world, we can still be charitable, we can still make a difference.
I do not believe I have to do Mental Gymnastics when it comes to reading and understanding the Qur'an.
                Peace and Kindest regards.

But the Quran is the best HUDA to achieve this target

what you describes is mention in the Quran with DUA - what all the prophets did and we can do anytime or anywhere- but it is not the same word as SALAT - i believe the DUA and SABIH is a part from the SALAT - and for me the post from God within makes totally sense - in my opinion the best explanation for SALAT i ever read.
peace May Allah give us the best understanding of his Quran.

(1959) So succeeded from after them a succession, they lost the programming/conditioning, and they followed the lusts/desires, so they will meet failure .

Especially poignant, this rendition of the verse. We can see its self-evident nature. Essentially every statement in the quran is tautological where applicable. If you do not program yourself, then you program yourself to fail.

Many times God makes these things clear

Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up conditioning; surely conditioning keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do.

God Within simply means that God is closer than the jugular vein....God is the one conciousness that fully expresses Itself through mankind.

                            Excellent thought!

Peace, not emotionality or sensuality, be your state always,

The God has based all life on Laws. If there is something that applies to only a sect of people, you are on the wrong path. Only that which is universal can be right. We cannot say Jesus is savior because what about people before Jesus? Not universal. We cannot say you must literally bow and prostrate and do 5 rakats because it is not universal. However when you understand the metaphor of such statements , you understand there is something psychological being pointed to. Please look at this thread again and let's discuss.
