LOL!! OK we are on the same page. Remember I am new at this!!

    Salam pvb,

LOL it's okay I knew you would understand it. I remember how difficult it was in the beginning to switch between multiple languages. It gets easier though.

Does it have to do with grammer?

    no

This would be a new word for these people- a human sacrifical lamb. Would there even be a word to cover this idea in Hebrew?

Yes, of course there would be a combination of words to cover this idea in Hebrew or Aramaic. The only thing is those words were not used.

The hrm0 lamb is connected to God and Jesus, a sacred lamb, a symbolic lamb.

Do you really believe that a word used thousands of times in THREE Semitic dialects (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic) to mean "speak, say....etc" all of a sudden in these TWO incidences means lamb?????

OR is it more likely that The translators needed a way to link Paul's writings to the ORIGINAL gospels and twisted the translation?

In Mark 1427 rm0 is in the word signifying Jesus' lambs, followers, Yhwrm0. John 2115 again His lamb, Yrm0.

The word is mis-translated in these verses as well.

    Salam,

    Arnab

How do you believe this verse should be translated?

Can you give me an example of those words that should be used to signify a human lamb, sacred lamb, Lamb of GOD?

If you type lamb in the lexicon there are more than 60 that use rm0 root in the word for lamb. Are you saying all of these are mistranslated too?

The other thread got a bit side tracked, but I find what we are talking about on the other one very interesting. I am restarting this one here. Thanks.

My question is With what momentous sacrifice did GOD ransom Abraham?

                Salam pvb,

How do you believe this verse should be translated?

Translations are difficult to do (which is why we have so many translations of the Bible and Quran) and no translation should be taken as Fact instead of the original writing.
That being said, here is a loose translation of John 129

And on part of the day Yukhanan saw Yeshua who was coming toward him and said (here is the word we are discussing AMR) behold the commandment/word of God, he who weighs sins eternally.

The words in Red are the word we are discussing AMRH

I always feel uneasy when giving a translation of a verse.

When focusing on just one word it is easy to show the multiple meanings. However when a group of words (each with their own multiple understandings) are strung together it becomes very difficult to be accurate.

Translations should be used to get you interested in reading the original translation.

NEVER as a substitution for the original itself.

Here are some difficulties I came across in the translation that I gave you above
The word ?sin? is a word Christians usually use. I basically used the word to give you a general idea in a way I knew you would understand. The word that I translated as ?sin? is more accurately ?to miss the mark.?

The word I translated as ?eternally? is also sometimes translated as ?the world/the worlds.?
But the purer sense of the word (in my opinion) is eternally or something that is beyond sight.

The art of translating will never be accurate. And some of the words in my translation above are debatable.

However, some words I am CERTAIN of and the word AMR is one of them.

Can you give me an example of those words that should be used to signify a human lamb, sacred lamb, Lamb of GOD?

I have never ever seen these words strung together in scripture.

Here are some words that arguably can be translated as human. I say ?arguably? because it can be debated whether or not this is an accurate translation. Furthermore each word can bare a different description of the human condition.

adm, Anash,/Anas, Nas, Iysh (and more)

The word usually translated as lamb is KBS

The word for God is ALH

The word usually translated as sacred or reserved for God is Qadosh.

I?ll let you string them together, I?m not comfortable doing that, personally. Since it is not there.

If you type lamb in the lexicon there are more than 60 that use rm0 root in the word for lamb. Are you saying all of these are mistranslated too?

I see what you are saying. I typed the word ?lamb? in English and saw how you came to this conclusion.

Then, I went through the verses to find the word AMRH. I found that although they list the verses to the side?..
these are the verses that contain the WORD AMRH. This does not mean that these verses translate the word as LAMB.

The verses to the side only list where the word AMRH is located not HOW it is translated.

I would suggest that you do as I did and bring up the word LAMB again using the English search feature on Peshitta.org and go through each verse on the right.
Go to the actual verses listed and find the word AMRH within the verse and then see how it is translated.

You will have the evidence you need to see my point. Which is that the word ARMH is usually translated as speak, say etc.

                Plus, you?re learning Aramaic. bravo

                Salam,
                Arnab

                  Salam,

The simple fact of the matter is that 37107 does not specifically say.

I believe that the answer is in the Torah. However, you will find others who disagree with this.

                  Salam,

                    Peace be upon you,

The God makes some into apes and swine...is that literal?

Sacrifice your greed, anger, worrying, fear, doubt, sadness, anxiety, etc.

Sacrifice the animal within you that drives you to be lead by your emotionality.

The "picture" of the "devil" is a man with ANIMAL features (horns, hoofs, tail, etc).

Jesus told Satan "get Ye BEHIND me"....meaning that the emotions must follow and support you, not lead you.

This message is for humanity at all times..how many of you have been asked to sacrifice your literal son by God? Thats right NONE of you...so what thinking is going into this message?

Arnab- Yes, I saw on the very first verse I checked what you mean.

That is what I was thinking for John 129 also, the Word of GOD. Especially since that is how the Chapter begins. You know my gut feeling, the Holy Spirit has always moved me to say Jesus is not the prophet carrying the message, He was and is the message of GOD.

                        Mark 14
                        Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial
27"You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written
" 'I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.'

                        John 21
                        Jesus Reinstates Peter
15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs ."

Is the rule firm that the root word always stays a synonym?

                        Yes very exciting learning aramaic!!

godwithin and huruf- The sacrifice in that verse is Allah's, not our's or Abraham's.

                            Salam,

                            John 21
15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs ."

I would say a better translation is "Tend my word." But feed in a broad sense can also be understood.

Is the rule firm that the root word always stays a synonym?

I don't know that I understand the question.
But, if you are asking does the word AMR retain the same basic meaning when other letters added then yes (for the most part). This is a non-technical answer.

                            Salam,
                            Arnab

                              Yes, Y9r is tend.

                              John 21
15So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep . root word rm0 = affirm, say, speak, announce, ?word?].

16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep . root word = 0br9

This can get really confusing- root of 0br9 = Br9

17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep . root word = 0qn

I just found the forum on peshitta.org. They are discussing John 2115-17 in trying to prove that the greek translations came from the aramaic.

In the Peshitta, the words Maran uses to denote "sheep" are 3 distinct words, as opposed to the Greek, which only uses 2 ('Arnion', Lamb, and 'Probaton', Adult Sheep.)

The original Aramaic words used are as follows

                              0rm0 (Amrea) - Young Sheep (Lamb, word# 1330)

                              0br9 (Aerba) - Adult Sheep (Masculine, word# 16205)

And, finally, the one that stumped the Greek translator(s)

0wqn (Niqwa) - "Ewe", Adult Sheep (Feminine, word# 13542 - which, by the way, the Lexicon has coded to an erroneous Lexeme and Root - this word even stumped the creators of the Lexicon!)

The last word is a very rare word, used only once in the OT Peshitta (as NQWA), and found only once in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The root NQWA simply means, "female", but it is very rarely used because there are other words which mean "female" that were more popularly spoken.

When the Greek translator(s) of Yukhanan ran across this word, they simply substituted "Probaton" again in verse 17, the same word used in verse 16 - they had no idea how to translate it.

In the process, the teaching of the Messiah was diluted - Maran Eshoa was asking Shimon to "tend" all of his "sheep" - men, women and children.

                                Salam pvb,

Great! Sounds like you are starting to grasp on the language.

I personally don't go on the Peshitta forums much. But I did spend a great deal of time researching the Peshitta primacy.

                                Salam,
                                Arnab

But wait, why not use the word used in the first verse for word?

                                  Flm
                                  Miltha, cause, matter, word

I found another free downlaod interlinear translation of the peshitta on

                                  http//www.lulu.com/content/755577

                                  Verse 1

(The Word) atlm (had been) awh (existing) yhwtya (In the Origin *) tysrb

(God) ahla (with) twl (had been) awh (existing) yhwtya (Word) atlm (& That) whw

(Word) atlm (That) wh (was) awh (Himself) yhwtya (& God) ahlaw

LOL! The script is different though and I am trying to learn how to put it into the lexicon! LOL!

                                    Salam pvb,

I would suggest learning the actual Syriac/Aramaic Alphabet and then relying on that.
It will save you a lot of frustration in the long run. Because, there is no common transliteration.

For instance, with the word Amr you can see it transliterated as Amr Aamr or 'amr or 'mr.
There is no "rule" that dictates how it should be written in English.

That is why you see some people write "Koran" and some write "Quran." The spelling changes when we try to write the sounds using English letters but the spelling doesn't change in Arabic.

                                    And, thanks for the link.

                                    Salam,
                                    Arnab
