NOTE I DO face Jerusalem for my prayers. I just want some issues clarified.

I have read Layth's article "Pilgramige - The Lost Legacy of Abraham" but that has not answered all of my questions

regarding the focal point of Salat and Pilgrimage.

Layth says himself that 2142-143 talks about a change in focal point. What is this change? After all, 2144 mentions a

physical change and you state that for a while Muhammad's followers faced Mecca but then they were redirected back to

Jerusalem. Please can you explain this section of Layth's article in more detail.

At one point, Layth stated that he believed that "Qibla" referred to a political position. How come for verses "2142-144"

Layth has stuck to the traditional definition of "focal point" and that is the same definition he uses in his translation of the

    Qur'an?

Layth states in his article that "Qibla" is only referring to Salat. Does this mean that the Qibla is different from the site of pilgrimage? Please can you explain this in more detail.

    Peace,

    One Very Confused Brother!!!

As far as I'm aware, this has been discussed in significant detail, here are some threads/posts

I strongly recommend using the search function of the forum.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.
