The Gospel in the Qur'an is not the Gospel that is in the Greek New Testament many would refute and say these are the words of Jesus recorded by 4 apostles, Matthew Mark Luke & John. But they were not with Jesus when he was alive and God does not refer to them at all in the Qur'an (if they had the revelation of God they would hold some importance). Just as Moses was given direct revelation, David, Solomon, Joseph and Mohammed where is Jesus' direct revelation? We know it exists, it says so in the Qur'an, my understanding is either it was destroyed and the Christianity that exists today was erected in its place or it was only a recited message that was never written down. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?

    Peace and Blessings.

I have always heard of different "gospels" some called cannonical, some called apocrifal, of which there is a good number. I have not read any of the latter, but as to its contents I do not know that they are very different from the others.

If somebody knows more about this, I would like to know too.

I find anyway that the gospels that we know do contain truth, such as may have come to the prophet Jesus. We just have to take those things that really speak to our spirit and not worry about the rest.

      Salaam

            Salam,

Allah gave Isa the WORD and that was recorded by his disciples.

The word of Allah is protected.

If you read it in Aramaic you will recognize it as you recognize your children.
But don't take my word for it. verify all information for yourself (as always).
But Read it with an open mind/heart.

If you have only read translations you have not read the Gospels.
The claims of Christianity are unverified in the Original Language.

And...my opinion is stay away from the writings of Paul.

            Salam,
            Arnab

              Salaam, Arnab,

I think that in another thread some of us asked you a clear question on this, but you did not answer, and what you say here is not a clear anwer to that question.

The "Gospel" or "Injeel" was in the heart of Jesus before he was born and that is where it is today. What we find in the Bible of today is the Torah and whatever else the Christians have been able to save of the "Injeel" and the "Psalms" and whatever else came to the progeny of Israel (Jacob).

God Taught Jesus "The Book and Wisdom and the Torah and the Bible" in Arabic "Al-Kitaab wal Hikma, wal Toraat wal Injeel" ... all this before he was born, now we all know he is not dead and will return .... if anyone can dispute it go ahead. Jesus is the Word of God, his words are pure just like he is pure ... decided by GOD before he was born, and is of the close ones of GOD like the Spirit and the Angels ... but he is of mankind ... he is no angel nor the spirit and he will answer to GOD on the DAY just like we will.

When he returns he will still have the Kitaab, Hikmah, Toraat and Injeel in his heart and he will find the Quran here. Try and guess what he will teach us all?? duhh ... all three of them ;D

So, now wait for him to return and try and follow the Quran as best as you all can ...... there is nothing else you can do ... follow it and teach it as best as you can like the "Rabbis" from what you clearly understand and leave the rest to GOD. The vast majority of the people of the world today will not believe anymore ... and thus the time is getting closer as they only "Say" they believe with their mouths but their hearts DO NOT BELIEVE.

                  PEACE.

The Gospel and the Torah of today are the very same as at the time of Mohammad and the Quran.

In fact in the first century AD church fathers were referencing the Gospel- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

                    http//www.biblefellowship.org/BibleAndLife/bibleandlife_2006_4.htm

                    Has a collection of Apocrypha - http//www.earlychristianwritings.com/

The Apocrypha texts are not in the Bible because there is not enough proof of their divinity, church fathers didn't reference them, it has also been discovered that some were written much later later then what they say.

                      No Br,

They are not the same at the time of Muhammad the Bible was available in its original lingo not English , you are duped

When things are translated you get additions in it to that what was therein originally- i think.

The quran was the bible explained in Arabic but with the flaws removed.

And the Arabic quran is still the authentic bible fully explained.

Of course you don't believe that though.

                      God Bless.

WHAT?? LOL!! The Gospel and Torah of Mohammad's time are available in their original language.

We have the Gospel in Greek and Aramaic. Which language did Mohammad read the Gospel and Torah?

LOL!! You are correct, I don't believe you.

I was wondering this question as well. Will we ever know Jesus's exact words and his gospel? One of the avenues I've taken was to look at the Q document (Q standing for the german word quelle, meaning "source&quot hypothesis. Basically, that the Gospels of Matthew and Luke used Mark, which is considered by many the first written Gospel and the Q document that was a record of Jesus's sayings that was made before the gosepls were written.
Even though the Gospel of John mentions the Prophet, this Gospel seems more fabricated to me as it makes claims to Jesus being God.

here are a couple links if you are interested

                          http//www.earlychristianwritings.com/q.html

                          http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_document

keep in mind, Q isn't proven at all, but looking into this and looking at what Jesus says in the first three "synoptic" gospels of the new test has helped give me and idea of the Gospel given to Jesus.

So, the original Gospel was in Greek? hmm

As far as in Aramaic, I'm interested if you could point me to it. And I mean original Aramaic Gospel. Not an Aramaic translation of King James.

The Gospel in the Qur'an is not the Gospel that is in the Greek New Testament....

                                Peace,

I would disagree. The word Injeel is a word borrowed from greek. The word for "gospel" in greek is Euangellion. If you take off the case ending and leave it as its greek root, the word is Euangel. Transliterate the word into arabic, and you get Injeel.

"Taurat" is a loan word from Hebrew meaning "law" or "instruction." It would make sense that the word for the Christian scriptures would also be borrowed from the Greek word for "good news".

                                -Joel

Alhamdullilah all of Allah's prophets had came and gone. And we now wait for a messenger of the covenent that will come and authenticate all revealed books as the message of God to humanity (sorry am not refering to the messenger that will deny one or two verses from any book, be it Quran, Taurah or Injeej) Allah informed us that the Quran is authenticating the Taurah and Injeel. So for someone to say the Taurah and the Injeel we have today is corrupt he will have to explain there verses 543,44,46 and 68; 4136; 1091; 159; 634. And then tell us when it was corrupted, how it was corrupted, and why was it corrupted anyway. Akulu kauli wal hamdulillahi rabil alamin.

You're awaiting the "messenger of the covenant", but you reject Rashad Khalifa? ) Rashad is the only person who came on the Islaamic scene claiming to hold this status/title. In reality, the title "messenger of the covenant" is not mentioned in the Qur'aan at all, and neither is the idea that he's going to somehow authenticate all revealed books as Allah's word. So, where did you get this from if not from Dr. Khalifa?

Okay... &nbsp Maybe YOU should read the Qur'aan again... Or better yet, let me help you...

And when Allah made a covenant through the prophets "Certainly what I have given you of book/scripture and wisdom; then a messenger comes to you verifying that which is with you..." (Q. 381)

That passage is directed towards the other prophets, which is why Allah told them that the messenger would verify what He had given them of the scripture; during that time, the entire book/scripture wasn't revealed. By reading the context, you'll notice that the quoted part ("&quot aren't the words of Allah, they're the words of the prophets, directed toward their people. The messenger would complete the scripture (i.e. with the Qur'aan)... Also, the prophets themselves couldn't support this messenger, since they appeared at different times. Therefore, this covenant is not made between the prophets and Allah, but rather it's with the prophets and their people. That's why verse 84 goes on to show the acceptance of the people (of the prophets) toward all the messengers of Allah. The people were required by their prophets to aid and support the coming messenger who would verify the part of the book that they had received, and the previous scriptures are confirmed by the Qur'aan.

The verse (when in context) seems pretty self-explanatory to me too... &nbsp

And by the way, can you point out the title "messenger of the covenant" anywhere in the Qur'aan?

                                          Salam Ahmad,
I think you are missing something, the verse informs us that this covenant was taken from the prophets so excluding Muhammad from the covenant will definately exclude him from the prophets which will violet 3340. And for your information Muhammad was included in the covenant as detailed in 337. And for the title "messenger of the covenant" I doubt if you will believe it since maybe you have some explanation for this ayat 24. You know what I mean right?
