Mr. Ustahi's major assumption is that people use nicks because they are afraid. I'm afraid, this isn't the case for everyone. There are many diverse reasons for choosing nicks rather than real names on the net. But for those who are afraid to use real names, there also might well be a valid reason for not revealing who they are, which is fair enough. People can use real names and still be asses or nicks and still be sincere. The whole nick/name game itself is a red herring, and not important in the grand scheme of things, in fact I can tentatively put forward that nicks/names online can be analogous to faces/bodies in RL...when the words are what should be important not who/what is saying it.

Because he is artist in what he does, and most people have no clue. So the GOD took me, and descended the Prophet Isaiah, to teach me the First Divine Inspirations upon me. So if I am your friend and I call you Rusty or Usta-man that is really important when you are a pious, charitable and loving believer. Does that really mean you're hiding or I'm deceiving myself, only God knows our true names, your name may not be God's name for you, did you perhaps reflect, what about slave names inherited by Afro-Americans ...are these God's names for them or their Slave masters nick-names to remove their own culture and history from them, how can you judge? If someone can even profess disbelief under compulsion/pain of death/threats etc (16106), then having a nick to protect them from such if they were in such a position is completely fair, at least they get to learn/read etc without fear (which is why I said fair enough). Now go do it? I think you know exactly what I mean, your deliberate emulation of style... not whether some sentence somewhere does not shockingly match the GOD's Word according to anyone else(TM). I have seen people who write observations in their own unimitable style which goes on to match/connect with some verses of the quran that they were not aware of or in some cases they had an idea...but a deliberate crafted emulation of the quranic style (in old school english translations of course with the thee and the O's) and then insistence that it is all a guided message doesn't go down easy, sorry.

in my opinion, names are only there out of convenience.....otherwise how do we refer to one another? I dont think it matters in all honesty.....
one thing i would like to ask of ustahi though is how does "i have no name and i have any name " make any real sense? It sounds like mumbo jumbo to me.....actually on this thread, i am finding your play with words distracts anyone from really having any clue as to what your saying....how can this way of being actually be beneficial?..... to anyone but yourself....it separates you from everyone else here...and i personally feel that everyone is equal but here i am feeling that you think you have something that is most important for us to be listening to....it seems kind of egocentric to me....
i just would like to understand where you are coming from brother.......also, to anyone who can answer, we all use capitals when we refer to God, Him, Allah etc i wonder in all honesty how we can use capitals for our own names....when we know He is far more important than our meager selves......

Now, this thread is a good stimulus to re-assess if there is a need to use a nick instead of one's name. Just a single question that one has to make him/herself, and no one else have to answer instead of him/herself. What ID do I need?
Cause each one has his/her circumstances, his/her Path, and nobody as him/herself can assess his/her needs, except if God permits anyone else to know them.

this makes alot of sense to me.....we need to know nothing really in relation to the names of others....its not like a persons true name is going to really help us understand the person anymore....God knows and perhaps thats all that matters.....

Taythats exactly what I said before but then the reply didn't make any sense, it was only some "holier-than-thou" Quranic paraphrasing. And I like the way R.H. Ustahi quoted me but edited what I wrote, you took out the bit about slave-names enforced on people. I would like to know what you think about that. Because a name can enslave and set free, it can have meaning or none whatsoever, it can be for friends or enemies. It is not a creation of the devil, God gave names to all things on Earth and taught them to Adam. Human beings identify things by NAMES, but these names will get distorted over time as does anything entrusted to Man. Our names may not be our God-given names and only God has knowledge of our true names. But knowing my real name does not tell you anything about me, If Adolf Hitler was called Mahatma Gandhi he would still be the mind behind the Holocaust and great evil, nicks online are a form of being discrete and may be nicknames from real-life (mine being an example) please don't put yourself on a pedestal because you transform your posts into a type of Qur'anic mutation. It sounds like you're trying to attain Nirvana than anything else.
