my friend recommended sleeper cell when i lived in the states, wished i checked it out. it looks good, i thought it would be more like a csi-type of cop/drama show. i wonder if you can get it this side of the pond. what's crazy is that some of us in the west are forever trying to explain the 'real islam' to our peers, showing the quran in its proper light, but try and explain 'real' islamic virtues to those who live in or come from muslim states and you just get called an apostate, a 'not really a muslim', locked up, silenced or murdered.

its all too easy for critics to just point at muslims who dress their women to be little more than baby-making statues and say 'no this is islam, look at it in practice' while we are trying to exonerate the quran...anyway just trying to say, i hope this series played in arabic speaking nations....one of the comments read

eh...whats that got to do with adulterers being stoned to death and women not being allowed to drive in ksa and non muslims seeing this and thinking "oh that's islam in practice?" and muslims going "yes this is certainly islam in practice, we have scholars you know, and hadith with a verifiable chain of narrators and sound scientific evidence to back up our claims, mashallah".

Sadly history like this has been deliberately buried.

Soon insha'Allah the history will be told, one way or the other.

are you trying to say that non-muslims should look at certain periods in islamic history that are recognized by some as being a "golden age" and judge islam from this, only they can't because non-muslims have purposely obliterated this from the text books to steer people from the path..?

It?s in Muslim interest to bring back information of the golden era, when they gave more importance to education and liberation.

Muslims have brought open themselves decline due to wrong practises they adopted and also as a result of the destruction of valuable books and scholars during the inquisition.

Yes it is important to look back and reinforce what you want the world to see. Look at the Jews who, despite being on top of the world and enjoying security, concentrate all their effort on regularly bringing to the attention of the world what happened to the Jews during the holocaust but that doesn?t stop them from creating a jail for Palestinians on their land.
