My story
-
I was raised Christian. Late teens/early twenties converted to Islam, but had a hard time following traditions. I felt like most of them were influenced by culture. When ever I asked questions about this Sunni Muslims told me that we MUST following the examples of the Mohammed (pbuh). Whatever questions I asked were shut down. I stopped being Muslim. I kept on being "drawn" back to Islam, but would continue to face the same issues. Finally I decided to just study the Qur'an. I realized that some of the things that I were taught were not in Qur'an or taken an extra step then what was in the Qur'an. I decided to follow the Qur'an only and submit. I was on Beliefnet and someone was through checking someone's profile was brought here.
I hope to study the Qur'an just got a brand new Arabic/English addition and become better Muslim.
