MY SALAT ARTICLE!!

Dear mh, I also agree that we must focus on delivering the message of the Qur'an to the masses in an organized session. Most people during prophet time is illiterate, so the only way to convey the message is by reading it moderately in a congregation where people listen in silence and focus to it's meaning. I think this is the original purpose of the ritual prayer, if you are an Arab, then they have no problems, the steps of ritual prayers fits very well with this purpose, so start by reading the opening verse and then the leaders continue reciting Qur'an where people will listen and give attention. It is by this way that the prophet convey the whole message of the Qur'an and by repetition will make the believers in constant remembrance of the message, then they bow and prostrate as a sign that they have hear the message and humbly submit to it. We hear and we obey.
The problems is for Non-Arabic speakers, the prayers session give no benefit to them since they understand nothing. One solution is for the Imam to translate the meaning of his Qur'anic recitation after the prayers because I thinks it is awkward to recite it in another language. As for the meaning of Solat, for now I thinks it's mean both, commitment and the prayers. I oppose some call from Aidid-Safar followers that deny the importance of ritual prayers, what we need now is some modification to the ritual prayers so that It can fit it original purpose, a prayer that can hinder us from shameful and evil deeds.
I think we are coming closer to a satisfactory consensus regarding solat, the original ritual prayers is part of the solat but as Qur'an said we has lost it and transform it into a ritual void of meaning. I request some of you expert to come forward to contribute to this discussion and resolve this anomaly regarding Solat that have haunted Qur'an believers for quite a long time, as long as we cannot resolve this issue, our view will never reach the mainstream. I don't want to disturb my fellow friends & families peacefullness with something that create endless confusion and debate. If we can come to a satisfactory consensus, then we can spread Qur'anic teaching with confidence and without fear.
Thanks.

peace upon you, i read this article in regards to salat Please see rhis article if you want more information regarding to quranic way of performing prayers. Peace http//www.quranaloneislam.net/salat
" simply ask any Muslim around the world who practices sal?t "What is it in Islam that refers either to 7 verses or suras that are known to be recited in sets of two, or sets of pairs?" " - very good argument...so in conclusion what the #$@&%*! are we doing here?
We should all just go back to elementary mosque school ("maktab" in my country) and relearn some basics and move on with our lives...

Salaam,
This is a very interesting interpretation. I have a feeling that you might be onto something. I do know that reading the quran is an obbligation and that we should do so every day, however when it comes to salat ( refered here as ritual prayer), I always felt that "scheduled times" for it was a bit weird. It takes out the naturality of it. What I mean is that being mindfull of God and thinking about him every day at every moment should be the salat and occasionally prostate WHEN WE FEEL like doing so. I was wondering how would you interpret the verse 56 about ablutions in light of your understanding of salaat?
Let me know I am very interested.
Thank youThat post by mh was written 12 years ago... not sure you'll get a reply

Hello seddik88,
56 does not have anything to do with ablution. That is interpretation acrobatics by foul ancient clerics and scholars in order to "confirm" their sectarian doctrine.

Another baseless claim by Man of Faith. Evidence please.

I know it is your interpretation of the rules that count, Wakas. I will be more careful.
Concerning 'evidence' I have discussed it previously. I do not share your understanding, if you claim that "it does have anything to do with ablution". I argue this is not a "baseless claim", but it is your judgment since you are a moderator/administrator here. Is this a warning?

It is not a "formal warning". We deliver this via PM using the term "formal warning". It is a reminder.
If you did discuss it elsewhere, please link me and I will review it, on the condition that any point of yours proven illogical/impractical/baseless/etc you will donate $10 to charity. Feel free to decline.
Every person that has attempted to make this verse not about ablution has been forced to throw logic, Quranic grammar and cross-reference, Classical Arabic dictionaries in the bin, making their claims unverifiable, therefore baseless.

Quite startling. It increasingly seems like you are inventing a new language.

see article http//www.mypercept.co.uk/slw.htm.
Then ablutions as they are intended today make no sense related to Salat ( meant as striving toward God through the study of the Quran or through the acquisition of knowledge trhough reading). You can't have both.
So given MY OWN understanding of Salat, then ablutions GIVEN CURRENT TRANSLATIONS, may only refer to washing ourselves for cleanliness, but even in that sense it doesn't fit very well. Are you familiar with the fallacy of "false dichotomy / false dilemma"? It is one in which you state there are only two options, when in fact there are more than two options.
Perhaps you need to re-read the article. Specifically
To gain a better understanding of The System/Obligation, it is clear a better understanding of al quran would be required. That is why a regular/timed salat is given. In this regular/timed salat, reading / reflection / oration of al quran is prescribed. This can be done alone or in a group/community setting.

Peace Wakas and everyone,

It seems that the key to Quranic Salat is the part in bold from the paragraph in your article. And I agree that the Quranic Salat can be done alone or in a group/community setting. It seems like a good article, by the way. I am planning to read it in the future. Wakas, I have a few questions. Did you post your article on the website recently? Is it new? Or is it an old article?
It seems that the Quranic Salat is completely different than the Sunni/Shia Salat. Some people think that Salat must mean physical/ritual prayer since the Quran tells us to do Salat in a monotone voice. But this argument holds no weight. Because we can also use a monotone voice while reading the Quran (see this post). Therefore it is obvious/clear that one can do Salat with a monotone voice without having to do physical/ritual prayer. For example, one can do Salat with a monotone voice, while reading the Quran. When it comes to regular/timed Salat, there is evidence in verse 2458 that there are 2 daily Salat in the Quran.
The Quran mentions 2 daily Salat (in verse 245
- Salat Al Fajr (dawn/morning).
- Salat Al Isha (dusk/night).
To this date, I haven't seen anyone be able to disprove the notion that there are 2 daily Salat in verse 2458. Perhaps it's because it's impossible to disprove Quranic evidence regarding Salat. Who can disprove Quranic evidence regarding Salat? The answer to that question is the following "NO ONE."
In my view, there is irrefutable and undeniable evidence that there are 2 daily Salat in verse 2458. Also, there is a verse in the Quran which suggests that Salat is a lost practice/ritual. In verse 1959, the Quran suggests that the messengers of God and the guided ones among their people, used to do Salat in the right way (in the past), but then generations came after them who lost the Salat and followed their desires.
Quran 1958-59 Those are the ones whom God has blessed from among the prophets from the progeny of Adam, and those We carried with Noah, and from the progeny of Abraham and Israel, and from whom We have guided and chosen. When the revelations of the Almighty are recited to them, they fall down prostrating, and in tears. Then, generations came after them who lost the Salat, and followed desires. They will find their consequences.
How do people follow their desires? Perhaps the answer to that question is the following They do it by following non-quranic/extra quranic teachings that they attribute to islam. A person who does 5 daily ritual/physical prayers, and claim that the Quran has told him/her to do it, might be following his/her desires. Because it seems that there are no verses in the Quran which tells us to do physical/ritual prayers. And it seems that there are no verses in the Quran which tells us to do Salat 5 times a day. As mentioned earlier, there is evidence in verse 2458 that there are 2 daily Salat in the Quran. And until now, no one has been able to disprove the notion that there are 2 daily Salat in verse 2458. In my view, the opposite of following ones desires, is to follow revelations (the words of God). And I believe that the Quran contains revelations (the words of God).

That is strange. I performed my deciphering work in close conjunction with Classical Arabic dictionaries, and that revealed nothing even remotely close to any ablution. There was talk about cleansing in it, but it was not that kind of "cleansing".

Not at all. However, your friends that you follow like sheep invented a "new language". I am finding out what that poor scripture actually says, which is not a lot of Pagan religious nonsense.

Glad that somebody reminded/told you about that, @MoF.
I think you're the person who has acrobatic interpretation for that verse.
Not at all. See the previous post.
