1965 ... so worship Him alone, and remain steadfast in His worship Dost thou know any whose name is worthy to be mentioned SIDE BY SIDE with His?" (Btw, the proper term is not 'worship' but 'serve.)
As this verse indicates, it is shirk, to mention ANY name SIDE BY SIDE with His. You will notice that, in Al-Qur-an, Allah, never mentions His name and the name Muhammad, side by side with His own. Allah, however, does say He and His "Messenger", NOT Allah and Muhammad or Allah and the Prophet.
The following verses, ayat 2131 in particular, gives he proper declaration of submission
318 There is no god but He
318 That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice.
318 There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
You will notice that, Allah, mentions "There is no god but He, yet, there is NO mention of..."and Muhammad is His Messenger", did Allah forget to mention that?
2.124 And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He.
4.125 And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend.

"Our Lord! make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (Will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Relenting, Most Merciful.

"Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous.

Behold! his Lord said to him "Submit (thy will to Me)" He said
"I submit (my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe."
