Sisters, brothers, please, i need to buy The correct translation of The Quran as soon a shumanly possible. I have read several English ones and Bosnian and Slovenian and they are all poorly translated, especially the Slovenian one.
The word Rabb is translated as Sir and not as Master.

I'm scared of The Exalted God AllPowerful and i cannot go on without reading The Quran. The Quran gives me a Strength beyond matter, it gives me hope and i would like to know where can i purchase one as soon as possible.

I also hope that The Quran will be REALLY correctly translated into English where 2185 is translated correctly as well as the verse talking about cutting the hand of a thief and not cutting off. This is the major thing when i read these translations that i have (Slo&Bosnia).

Also, i hope i will read in chapter 2, the best balanced prayer and not middle prayer, because there are so many people who are translating it and nobody is paying attention to these very importantg things which can result in huge differences in the HereAfter.

PICKTHAL As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise.

When she heard of their gossip, she invited them, prepared for them a comfortable place, and gave each of them a knife. She then said to him, "Enter their room." When they saw him, they so admired him, that they cut their hands. They said, "Glory be to GOD, this is not a human being; this is an honorable angel."

The thief, male or female, you shall mark their hands as a punishment for their crime, and to serve as an example from GOD. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.

You should compare the Arabic word for cut and tell me if the women in the upper verse really cut off their hands and what happens in the lower verse when you discover that you cut off the hands of a wrong guy. Big oops.

Peace alen. Quran is an Arabic book. The Arabic of the Quran has so much detail, so much poetry, so much blunt force as a language, that any attempt to translate the Quran does not work. You will have to learn Arabic.

Let me give you a few examples. The word you chose, Rabb, is neither sir nor master, the closest english word is Lord. For example, Rabb al Alameen, Lord of the worlds. Using sir or master wont work, sir of the worlds? master of the worlds?

Another point is that the Arabic words have multiple contexts, for example Asmaa, means heavens and sky, there is a spiritual heaven and a literal sky, both meanings are included in Asmaa.

The next point is there is poetry in the Quran, for example

Bismillah alrahman alraheem
Malik yowm aldeen
Iyyaka Nabudu, Iyyaku nastaeen
Ehd nasiraat almustaqeen

The poety of the Quran gets destroyed in translation.

Then there is the issue of approximate meanings, Malik is translated to mean King, however it is closer to Posessor. The English words are not a correct substitute.

This is why I repeatedly emphasize there is no substitute for Arabic, if your purpose is to reach a very deep understanding of the Quran.
