Salam. I want to share with you my discussion with someone from a qur'anist group at my place. WE all know that it is hard to find an organized qur'an movement. It start from one of my friend telling me that he have had a discussion with a man (introduced by his friend) discussing "weird" ideas using only Qur'an (we're all sunni ) From the moment I know that they are a qur'anist group. Then I immediately request to have a date with them. Then we set the time and place at a restaurant. I can expect that the man will try to convince me that Qur'an is the only way.

He started by asking me the state of Muslim today, and continue to do a quick revision on history from the time of Muhammad at Mecca during Jahiliyyah Time, to the peak of islam during 11-13 century and our downfall untill now. He explain the cylic nature of people, from the time of Abraham, Moses & Jesus. And conclude that their downfall is due to them neglecting the messenger/message. Torah, Injil & Qur'an. He then asked me how the majority of muslim today treat the Qur'an and we conclude that now at 2008 we're not much different from the Jahilliya time. He then explain that we have to revert back to Qur'an.

Then, he started at Surah 1, Verse 1. He asked me the significance of Bismililah. His explanation is quite systematic (with flow-charts) and always referring to Qur'an. Below is some excerpt from our discussion.

    Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim

    1. Bismillah = In The Name of God, By God Decree, by God System (ism=system)

    2. Ar- Rahman. Why Ar-Rahman, then he ask me to read Surah 55 Ar-Rahman

    551 Ar-Rahman/The Most generous
    552 He has taught/allama the Qur?an.
    553 He created/khalaqa the human being/insan
554 He taught him how to distinguish.
555 The sun and the moon are perfectly calculated.
556 And the stars and the trees yield.
557 And He raised the sky and He established the balance.
558 Do not transgress in the balance.
559 And observe the weight with equity, and do not fall short in the balance.
5510 And the Earth/Al-Ard He has made for all creatures.

One of the generous act of God is to teach the Qur'an. Human is destined to lived on earth, and God the Most Generous had gave us Qur'an. Then he asked me to read 3030

3030 So establish yourself to the system of monotheism/Islam. It is the inclination/Fitrah that God has nurtured the people on. There is no changing in God?s creation. Such is the pure system, but most people do not know.

    Human + Earth + Qur'an = Fitrah (equation 1)

So, how to use the Qur'an. Then we read.

2285 The month of Ramadhan, in which the Qur?an was revealed; as a guide/huda to the people and a clarification/bayyinat of the guidance and the criterion./furqan

    Guidance + Clarification + Criterion = Function of Qur'an (equation 2)

How to apply the function, then he ask me to look at 1678

1678 And God brought you out of your mothers wombs while you knew nothing. And He made for you the hearing and the eyesight and the heart, perhaps you would be thankful.

    and also 7179

7179 And We have committed to Hell many Jinn and humans; they had hearts with which they did not comprehend, and they had eyes with which they did not see, and they had ears with which they did not hear. They are like cattle; no, they are even more astray. These are the unaware ones.

    use your Hearing + Eyesight + Heart/Mind = Gratitude/Syukur

Now we combine all 3, that is the main concept. Use your faculty of hearing to find the Guidance through the Qur'an and seek Clarification on Earth & in yourself using your eyesight and use your Heart/mind to judge between truth/hak and false/batil.The criterion
Then he summed up, the above with a conclusion not to follow

Majority/people 6116 And if you obey the majority of those on Earth they will lead you away from God?s path; that is because they follow conjecture, and that is because they only guess.

    or

Our Fathers 2170 And if they are told ?Follow what God has sent down,? they say ?No, we will follow what we found our fathers doing!? What if their fathers did not understand anything and were not guided?

    but follow only Qur'an.

6106 Follow what is inspired to you from your Lord; there is no god but He, and turn away from those who have set up partners.

That he said was the basic system of Islam/submission. And this is only the meaning of ayah 11.
That meeting last for 2 hour and he told the next meeting he will explain about the great significance the rest of Al-Fatihah.

Second meeting also at the same place, but he took the time to do a revision on previous lesson.

3rd meeting is with someone else and after after a quick revision he decide to explain to me the True Sunnah before delving on Al- Fatihah.

Tonight I have a discussion at the same place and he promise me to explain the significance of Al-Fatihah/The Opening.

    Thank You.

      Peace,
      Respectfully.

      110- Triumph (Al-Nassr)
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When triumph comes from GOD, and victory.
You will see the people embracing GOD's religion in throngs.
You shall glorify and praise your Lord, and implore Him for forgiveness. He is the Redeemer.

      AlhamdilAllah.
      Glory be to our God.
      Allah guides whom He wants.
      Peace. jedi
