Am starting my study, would like suggestions...

Salam All

I just received my copy of lane and will be starting my systematic study as soon as I can...would like some suggestions from people who've been down this road as i can avoid time consuming errors and any advice will be much appreciated!

Please tell me how you started? did u use the pc extensively?Was there any special software/script..I'm leaning towards access and a transliterated version so that I can find roots easier and don't need to upgrade my scripts...and put them together if need be....

Did you start with a basic plan? If so what was it? Can you tell me the mistakes you made so that I can avoid them?

I don't really know much right now so help is sorely needed!!
