Hey guys
I have been reading the posts on here for a while now and I can't help but to think how, in religion, people seem to turn a blind-eye to the way their traditions and religious teachings have been passed down. Thank goodness that you guys have finally broken through that mold and began to QUESTION the authenticity of your former religion. However, I have to ask you. Why did you stop there? I KNOW that you believe in the Quran 100%. I know that most of you believe that the Bible and Torah we have today are not the same exact ones as were revealed by God. (However, they were the same exact ones at Muhammad's time.)
Anyway, how do you know FOR SURE that the Quran was sent down by God through Gabriel to Muhammad? WAIT! BEFORE YOU OPEN UP THE QURAN TO CITE VERSES FOR ME, I ask you. How do you know these verses are the truth? The Hadith lovers cite verses out of their books to disprove the Quran, CORRECT? Aren't you doing the same thing, by using the Quran to disprove anything else that contradicts with it? The Christians do this. The Jews do this. You are not immune. Rather, you are the SAME in that you ALL believe you have the TRUTH. Where did this truth come from? How do you know if Abraham existed? How do you know if Moses existed? How do you know that the Torah and the Gospel themselves were not made up like the Hadith? How do you know that you are not following a man-made system created by Jews of old?
DO NOT SAY "FAITH"! For that is the answer of YOUR ENEMIES! I want some PROOF. History, as you have shown in your defamation of hadith, is FALLIBLE. How do you know that Muhammad even existed? What about Jesus? You have no proof, just FAITH. Let me give you a little background information on myself. I was born a Sunni. I reverted back to the Islam that is described in the The Quran (QURAN-ALONE). After this reversion, I felt great. I knew I followed the word of God alone, the magnificent Quran. Everything else had been distorted by men. Then I began to think about the Quran itself. I am now in doubt. I admit it. I am doubting the Quran. Is it such a bad thing to doubt it or to just accept it wholly without question? I WANT to believe in the Quran 100%, for that would make my life much simpler and I would have somewhere to belong. However, now that I have doubt as to its authenticity, I don't know where to turn. The only verse I can think of that has anything to do with the Quran's authenticity is the "If it were from other than God, they would have found in it many contradictions"
Now, as thinkers and intellectuals I know all of you that post here KNOW of the claims that the anti-Quran movement makes to disclaim the Book's authenticity by saying it has contradictions and giving countless examples of these contradictions on their websites. However, even if all of these examples of contradictions on their websites are FALSE and the Quran really is non-contradictoy, then what makes it the word of God? Is man so fallible as to contradict himself alllllll the time? Are we trying to say that ANY MAN-MADE BOOK has contradictions? SURELY that is not true! Is the Quran asserting that everything written by man is contradictory? There are countless books out there that do not contradict each other, (however it is important to say that they are NOT religious books by default). Simply put, I just dont understand how you guys can criticize the Hadith for its apparent inauthenticity and way it was GATHERED and put together. How do you know that the Quran (lets not even say ALL of it, even a VERSE of it) was not written by people after Muhammad's (if there IS such a person) death? Is it not possible for even ONE verse to be fabricated?
I don't understand how any one can believe that EVERY single word was revealed to Muhammad. And the story of him meditating in the cave? Where did that come from? And if that is from the Hadith, then where DID he get the revelations at? (Not that it matters religiously, but these are BASIC questions about the tradition of how your RELIGION came into being) If there is a Hell, then why don't you fear it so much so that you want to investigate EVERYTHING you believe in? You've started on the right path by verifying the Hadith and its Origin. Why can't you do the same and VERIFY THE QURAN AND ITS ORIGIN? Please respond. I am VERY interested in your responses. and I myself want to learn but I am going through a very bumpy part of my life right now religiously. I wish I had never ever thought about the authenticity of the Quran, for I would have been much happier if I didn't. However, I have and I can't change that. I would LOVE to verify the Quran on my own and THEN find out that I had been worrying about NOTHING. I really really hope that I do find out the origin of the Quran and I hope the origin is in touch with what we have today. I don't know where to begin! Help.....
Hopelessly yours... cry
