Assalaamu alaikum,

I just joined here, and I want to ask a quick question. How important is it to declare faith?
I understand the conditions which need to be met when doing the shahada, but I'm unsure as to whether it's important in doing so. I've been a Muslim for about four years now, and it's come to my attention that I have never done shahada. Should I? And do I have to?

From this thread I think I have the answer, but I really would like confirmation. Sorry for bringing this old thread up, but there was no point in starting a new one. Thanks!
