Is it ok to recite salat with eyes closed in a seated position? Also, when performing dua do you place your hands up and open, or folded and closed? I've tried salat the traditional way and I just don't get as much out of it, I feel that with my eyes closed and seated I am totally basked in the radiance of Allah.
