I went through the article and some of the posted forum answers , but this still hasn't answered my question . If women are "Unclean" or "Impure" as the verse implies , how can we neglect the other verses using the same terminology in Arabic "" to instruct us on how to perform Salat or read Al-Qur'an ?

The same word in Arabic is repeated in all the verses , " - - - " . "purify" .

Am I missing something ? ???

1857 And who is more wicked than he who was reminded of the revelations of his Lord but he turned away from them, and he forgot what his hands had done. We have made veils upon their hearts from understanding it, and a deafness in their ears. And if you invite them to the guidance, they will never be guided.

God says ..,,
"They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Truly Allah loveth those who turn unto Him, and loveth those who have a care for cleanness."

Purification means that Menstruation (the condition from which women are purified) is unclean .

God said ..,,
"O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer, wash you faces, and your hands up to the elbows, and lightly rub your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it. Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that ye may give thanks. "

Doesn't this mean that women can't pray or touch Al-Qur'an till they're purified i.e. when menstruation is over ?
I am not mocking if this happened to you , I am just curious as why does some articles in this site suggest that women can pray/read Al-Qur'an during their period ? ???

I have been reading quite a lot in this site since I became aware of its existence , I found here patience and care for those who have the "But why" question hanging at the back of their heads and unable to submit blindly to what they have doubts about . Such compassion encouraged me to read further and to even share my feelings toward the whole matter ...

Well , I was raised a Sunni , never really cared for religion as a kid but have always feared Allah , I neglected religion even more as a teenager though I practiced it half-heartily all the time . It wasn't before the age of 17 that I've decided to take control of my life altogether including religion , first I sought more knowledge in my religion basing the research on my religious perceptions of childhood , there wasn't much time through college to do a full-time research but there was always time to seek another Hadith or another upgrade to my practicing . As I look back on these days , I realize I was Islam's worst enemy , I was a bigot hot minded fool who never sought independence from the tight grasp of Traditional religion ; it all came down to looks in the end and nothing was touching my heart , I convinced myself that this is what God really wants us to do .
It was all gone anyway 4 years later as I became aware that lots of what I was spoon-fed is self-contradicting and didn't make the slightest sense , I was back to religion neglect again .

When I became aware that there are groups that can satisfy my curiosity without shutting down my natural human nature , I -won't deny it- Denied them at the very beginning , I thought that they're trying to bring the entire religion's system down to rumbles . I blindly hated the new thinking way without even listening to them which would have been the least act of Just .
It has been 5 months now since I have been reading in this site and the more I read the more I am convinced that I was wrong about you guys , but .... I am still confused , my roots in Sunni world are so deep that even shaking them took me quite an effort , I find myself here , I find my spiritual satisfaction here . Yet , it kills me every time I decide to jump to your side , worried I might be making a mistake , afraid -yeah I said it- that I am going up the wrong path . &

I am torn apart , my head bursts open every time I try to take a decision . I am up to the responsibility and I am up to the consequences of my decisions but I can't make a life-changing decision without properly investigating the causes and leads of this decision .

I am not asking for words of comfort -I cried myself out a few moments ago ) - all I am asking is a how to be sure I am not slipping into another "Leave your mind behind" regime , comparing Quran's verses and certain terminologies are impressive in this site's articles but I want to get back to the roots of it .

How did you manage to do that or else what brought you to the conclusion that this way is the right way ?
