The word universe is defined as
- All matter and energy, including the earth, the galaxies, and the contents of intergalactic space, regarded as a whole.
- The earth together with all its inhabitants and created things.
- The sphere or realm in which something exists or takes place.

When regarding to the universe in this post, I am regarding to both the material universe, as in definition one, combined with the spiritual universe.
Lets set some guidelines for this discussion.
An analogy of this discussion is the chicken and the egg example that we are all aware off. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Remember, as you read, do not think of the universe as space. And, make sure you remember that in this explanation the universe includes everything, both material and spiritual. I may also refer to god, as him, or himself in this post to confine with correct grammaticism in the English Language.
So, this post is because Sara and I had a conversation, and she made me put it here. This is based on what was said in the conversation,
Think to yourself, how do you think the universe came to be? According to modern science there is no explanation. All theories cannot be proven, therefore they are false. (If you cannot prove A = B, then you must assume A ! B) However, 800 years ago, modern science (then) had no explanation of why humans could not breathe water. Another thought, is 300 years ago, there was no way to get into space. It was impossible to fly. Of course, you can see now that science has contradicted itself, as both those situations are easily explainable / proven wrong.
So a first point it, science is only temporary, and what we prove today, will be wrong tomorrow. There is never any absolute proof, therefore everything; including our own existence is theory. Hence, you can never prove any theory correct or false. However, being humans, we pretty much have built our society and lives around science, so you must choose what theories you wish to believe in. (As most of them will not change during your lifetime, it doesnt really make a difference).
Most of us choose strong theories, such as you are alive when you are born, and dead when you die. Other ones include, your eyes allow you to see, and you have to breathe to live. Some of these choices are more abstract and based on almost nothing, and certainly not what science today proves to be true. For example, the belief of ghosts is a weak theory, as there is no modern proof of their existence. We would even call ghosts theories based on modern science, while we could call breathing a fact. Another example, is what this discussion is based towards, that being god.
When speaking of god, we all can agree, that Jesus is not god. For the sake of this discussion, let us also agree that god was the creator of not only the earth and our existence, but also the universe. Remember, that means this god, created every feeling we have, every material object we know of, and every material object we dont know of.
So we first look at a more logical definition of god. By this writing, we have a few paths. Let us first take the path, that god is not spiritual, or materialistic, but both. God is the universe. Together with every spiritual and material object, god is omni-potent. This makes god both material and spiritual.
However, that would mean god could not have created the universe, because god is the universe. God would then become not our creator or greater being, just our existence. Looking deeper, you must realize that then what created god, and with any religion that I have seen, god is the original creator so god cannot have created himself. If god is the universe and god created the universe that means god created himself. Sort of like me giving birth to myself. (Abstract example) This creates a circular reference like the chicken and the egg example; you cannot have one before the other if the other is the one.
So, now that we have discovered that that theory, according to modern science, holds not one bit of todays proof, let us look at another path.
Which came first, the universe or the god? Well the universe could not of created the god, however, because the universe encompasses everything (see definition above) there could not of been anything before the universe to create the universe. So, a very short analysis leads us to another circular reference according to modern science.
So, from these two short analyses we are left to ask ourselves where did the universe come from? Because there could not of been nothing then something. And that leads me to give you a rather weak, but more acceptable answer than the previous that that is simply, and unanswerable question. I call this a more acceptable answer, because there are no circular references there is nothing deeper that may have been overlooked. And of courseeven if you do die and there is a god, and this complete post is wrong and this god tells you everything there is to know there is no way to prove that what he is saying is true and still you run into the circular references where did he come from. And a likely answer he was always. However, as Im sure you thought earlier there cannot be something from nothing I use that against you now, because there cannot be something from nothing.
Let me contradict what most of you are saying to yourself right now and ask you why do you believe there has to be a purpose to our existence? Why do you believe that there must be, has to be, a big picture when you cannot prove that you even read this post. And some of you may think that everything has a purpose. Why are you here, if you have no purpose? Why does the sun rise and set? Why do I have feelings? Why does the dog bark at night?
And I ask you, on what are those beliefs based? On what are these decisions that everything has a purpose that every action has a reaction based? Of course, the answer to that is, modern science. Every action has a equal and opposite reaction (Isaac Newton). So science itself is irrational science defines proof and redefines it as it wills. So to prove something, is in-valid that proof is based on a theory.
So how can you believe anything at all? How can you believe any more that there is no purpose? That everything you feel, everything you see is just what you have created in your mind. When you hit yourself with a hammer that you feel pain? How do you know that wasnt taught to you that absolutely nothing happened, and how you look, and what you see and feel and do is all creations from your mind from someone elses mind?
However, if we all felt that way, from birth there would be no birth. And according to science, there would be no life, nor death. So we need to accept certain beliefs to feel that we are alive, to think that our feelings and our emotions are real essentially to lie to ourselves. So we trust in these theories, because they do not create as obvious problems. Many do not have circular references and theses are the ones I can guarantee you all humans believe in. That you breathe, that you need to drink to live, that you live and that you die. And, we accept those because there is more proof, for lack of a better word than excuses. We can not as readily change those theories, or find them to contradict themselves.
Lets keep going on so you probably are still saying that everything that exists has the capability to do something. You may think you were put here on this earth, and you breathe. Hence, your purpose is to breathe.
Now lets take the compliment view could it be that your so called purpose is just a creation in your mind? Could it be, as much as you tell yourself that there isthat there really isnt a big picture? There is no purpose maybe it is as simple as we live, and we die. For, dieing is the only thing that no matter what life form you are weather you live for a hundred years or a millisecond you die. So you must create excuses, lies, to yourself because as humans, as life forms we are so complex, we cannot accept something this simple?
Although with that example, I have said that there is a purpose, to die. However, can it be that you are not living to die? That there is no life, and no death nothing. The possibilities, the theories are endless. And all will be contradicted, and found to be circular. And as we have proven nothing can be defiantly proven. However, we can make logical estimations that are acceptable during our life time. Alas, even those are even based on what we define proof to be at the time of our life and god, is none of the above.
So we could say that man created the notion of god. To elucidate that which cannot be elucidated, in example the creation of the universe. Man could not know how it came to be, nor could ever dream or hope to even have the slightest idea; therefore he invented the notion of a higher power. Which in this life-time and the creators life-time could be very acceptable, for the creator was nothing but man itself.
Let me give you an example you believe that if you kick a ball, it moves forward. You believe this; because, from birth you have been taught that when you exert a force on an object, that object will move. You also learn about direction, etc. How do you know that that ball actually moved? Can you be sure the ball even exists to move? You could say, people have based this... the ball moving on their observations. For one you could all be wrong, and deeper did you ever really observe anything? You believe you see because you were taught to, or learned to. You could say, blind people have absolutely nothing different physically they are only blind because they cannot learn to see.
Lets take another example, to go deeper. Swans are white. The more white swans you see, the higher probability of them being white. That doesnt mean that there were always white, that that they will always be white, because you have not observed all of the swans ever. Now let me ask you misusing science, prove to me they exist. Give me a liable argument that they do. You think, say, that is what you see, and that is what you call the color white. However, I said you cannot use modern science. So what you see, feel, taste, hear, or smell does not apply.
However, I cannot prove you wrong. And I have almost no argument on why you are wrong. And that is why we accept that swans are white. Based on the fact, your argument is stronger and more likely than mine, according to science; I believe that swans are white. Although, that can be very corrupted, as you have almost no argument that I or you were every born, that we even exist.
So I ask you, why do you believe in god? The Catholic, the Islamic, any god, why do you believe, is god really these unanswerable questions?
As an ending, Im not at all trying to say that we should discern modern science, because if we did we would die. Although we dont know if we really die, I currently feel safe to assume that we do. Modern science will allow us to live our lives with these thoughts, and feel that we did live, and lived for a reason. And, that gets us buy, and seems to work for most of us.
