Thank you all for your responses, I appreciate them. I've been praying about it for several months now, asking God to increase my desire to wear a scarf if it is good for me, or decrease my desire if it is best not to cover, and my desire has only gotten stronger. But how is one to determine whether a feeling is from oneself or from Allah? It's something I've been struggling with how to determine..

...But I want to wear hijab anyways?Salam everyone ) I hate to add yet another post on the exhausted topic of "hijab" but I really would appreciate some opinions because after almost a year of continuous research, I still cannot come to a decision.
Just a little background I converted to Islam 2 years ago, followed the Sunni ways, and started to wear the headscarf a year after converting. I then took it off after 4 months of wearing when I stumbled upon Quran-alone websites and realized I did not find it to be prescribed in the Quran. At this point, I did not have any problems with wearing the hijab, but after some conversing with my husband, I became convinced that by continuing to wear it, I was showing a false image of Islam.
Since probably a week after removing it, I was having second thoughts. I was concerned I did not give it enough time and was scared I was making a mistake. Over the past 10 months since removing it, I have found myself pretty much trying to find a reason to put it back on.
At this point, I can see both sides -- I find myself convinced by both the evidences that it is and is not required, although I tend to find the evidences that it is not required to be the stronger position.
You would think that strong evidence that it is not required, coupled with the fact that I am a convert and my family is not muslim, AND the fact that my husband is glad that I am not wearing it, would be enough for me to have taken it off and never looked back... but I can't let it go for some reason.
Although I know that in the big picture, it is such a minor thing, and I feel confident enough in saying that God has not prescribed it, I almost always desire to wear it. I've tried to analyze my reasons for this desire and so far I think it comes down to I feel more spiritual and more connected/reminded of God when I am wearing it, I do believe it is more modest and I think it does prevent me from relying on beautifying my hair, and I think a part of me likes the fact that it makes me feel more connected to the muslim community (even though I do not agree with many Sunni practices), since I am a convert I guess. Also, I like the look of it.
Why won't I just put it on then? Well my family, my husband and the fear of seeming hypocritical.
Also I struggle with the fear that if I wear it, I'm adding a restriction where Allah did not put one - but this situation seems much like the fact that I try to maintain a vegetarian/vegan diet, in which I restrict myself of meats that Allah did not restrict us from because I believe it might be better health-wise for me, even though I acknowledge that these meats are still lawful. So could I treat wearing a scarf in the same way, given that I would be wearing it for the reasons I listed above, all while acknowledging that it is not a prescription from Allah?
Any advice, opinions, links, anything, would be appreciated.
