I do not want to offend your boyfriend. But he is a hypocrite. He has a duty as a muslim to show you the Qur'an or at least give you the means to read for yourself. He is trying to lead you astray. Read the Qur'an and see what is the definition of a muslim for yourself.

I've been looking at a number of different sites on Islam and I came across this one which for me personally makes the most sense/logic. I've tried reading the Qur'an and I've had a look at the Hadith's which I did find contradicting to the Qur'an. I was horrified at some of the content of the Hadiths which made no sense or was just plain silly, such as the ones that imply that women are inferior and unequal (compared to the Qur'an which empathises equality). I'd figured that maybe some of these Hadiths had developed over time due to political or economic reasons. Anyway I'm thankful that I found this site as its answered a lot of questions for me.

Hoping someone can answer my question. My boyfriend is muslim, (I'm non muslim) and sometimes he can be verbally abusive. I've asked him to stop swearing at me, calling me names etc. I told him it was very un-Islamic behaviour and he told me it didn't matter because 1.I'm not muslim
2.Islam was none of my buisness
3.Only muslims can discuss Islam
4.Muslimas do not discuss Islam with Muslims.

Can you please advice if this is true?
