I am new to Islam and the Holy Qur'an. I love this site and do hope you post your insight and view points.

Salaam MikeBloke, I am a white convert in USA, I have told friends that I study the Qur'an and really don't get much of a response. But I must say that I talk about Islam at opportune moments. Maybe this is kind of shy and not being boisterous but my friends really seem to listen to my point of view when I pick the right moment. I would say that maybe they are just being polite, but they are really a bunch of Arseholes so they wouldn't do that.

I also have to say "Thank Allah"!!!! If I hadn't found this site, I probably wouldn't have studied Islam or read the Qur'an every night. I don't know how the UK is, but if it's anything like the US, you get tired of dogmatic religious elders.

Any how maybe I'm rambling and not making much sense (I just got home from work)

I was raised Christian but rarely go to church. I do have a deep love for Jesus and be has been like my brother but have always thought of him as a prophet since childhood (I don't know why). When I found that Islam thinks of Jesus as a prophet I was intrigued. I started reading a little here and there and found that it is not the religion that I have been hearing about and that the Qur'an is for all and Muslims are suppose to love everyone. There also seems to be the morality in Islam that is attracting me. In todays society there are no boundaries and this really bothers me. I am also a Freemason and we are suppose to accept every one that believes in one God. We are also suppose to have all of the Holy books. From what I have been reading in the Qur'an I am finding that I really new nothing of the Islamic faith and it is very beautiful if you are not corrupted by the news or a small percentage of bad seeds that can be found in any religion. I live in Colorado and the only Muslim that I have ever known moved back to Iraq. He was Kurdish and a very good friend. I miss him but maybe he was the spark that ignited my mind into taking this journey.

Hi, I am new to Islam and to be true, I am new to studying religion. I was wondering, I see Islam in Christianity, Judaism in Islam, and I do read the Holy Qur'an. I don't see any out right hatred of anyone in the Qur'an. Why do we Hate?

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for such a great web site and forum. I am new to Islam and to be honest I was afraid that I would have to follow some dogmatic view point just to learn. This may have come from my environment and the culture of my homeland. But reading the posts and articles on this site have opened my eyes so that I do know now that I can be myself and study Islam.
