I go on reading about "Karaites". They only accept the Tanaj, the Old Testament, as sacred text, they reject rabbis authority and think every beliver has the responsability of reading God's Word.

I wouldn't dare to say if there is a mistranslation or not, but actually I can't acept all ages jews were condemned. On the contrary I consider them monotheistic, and thus "muslims".

I'm not so sure about the irrelevance of language. Language makes up our mind, or at least has an strong influence on it. Unfortunately, meanings and concepts change, no matter if words are preserved. And on account of it, I'm afraid we can't be sure about what undertestood Muhammad while hearing, for instance, the word "qalam" or "hajj". Sometimes, I wonder if I should "pray" in silence, triying to beg pardon for my sins, to thank God's mercy and to clean my soul.
Nevertheles, I pray in Spanish, but I'm learning arabic -thought I'm pretty sure I'll never ever be fluent!!

Hello! At present I live in Nothern Spain but I'm moving in September to Jerusalem for three months. I expect to pay a short visit to Egypt toward mid October.
About me 40 years old, Spaniard. I have been a furious atheist until a couple of years, when I began to feel atracted by Islam and (I know it can sound a little weird) Judaism. I have been reading as much I could about Islam, but, to be honest, I felt disappointed with most of interpretations about it. The few converts I met tended to be mere fanatics.
Finally, I have just discovered this stream, Coran alone. It's amazing to find most of my doubts and questions developed here.
Well, as French people say, "courage!". I guess most of us feel absolutely isolated.

Reading about a branch of judaism -the so called Karaites- I have just discovered this web site http//www.qaraims.com/
Apparently, they consider themselves "israelites" who recognise Jesus and Muhammad as prophets. Literally "All of the Children of Abraham were known as Qaraim meaning the ?Readers of the Scriptures?. This originally referred to the Scriptures of Abraham and was later extended to include the Torah of Moses, the Psalms(Zubair) of David, the Injeel of Jesus(Isa) and most recently the Holy Qaran of the Prophet Muhammad. In fact the name Qaran means the ?Reading? or the?Book of the Qaraims?.

Could someone give me his/her opinion about these people?
By the way, I've read Karaites Jews pray bowing a little as in Islam... But Qaraits reject Karaites... What a mess!

Hello to everyone!
I'm a 40 years old Spaniard. I've been a fanatical atheist since my teens. Two years ago I started to feel atracted by XVIII century's deism. I became to recognise the need of some god. Later I began reeding about Islam and Judaism. I rejected Christianism, just because I considered it broke the idea of an only God. However, most of interpretations and books I read about Islam disappointed me. I wanted to seek God and the way of serving Him, not to kill myself becoming a fanatic or an arabized European (as most of converts I have met are). I didn't feel like to reject reason on behalf of tradition (sunna).
Thanks to God, I recently discovered this web site. I hope to learn a lot about you and to share my doubts and fears.
Finally, is there any follower of Coran alone in Spain? It'd be great to be in touch with him/she.
