While what is said here isn't doctrinal I must say that this does contain a good warning for ensuring that we be careful of our intentions. A good deed done for a purely selfish reason, in my understanding, is still wrong.

Being Quran alone, for me, is based upon the pattern which we see in the historical evidence of all of God's monotheistic revealed religions.

Zorostrianism Original Revelation Gathas. Taught belief in God, a future last day and judgment, and the doing of what is right. Later extra scriptures were added and it's priests have changed the religion to be unrecognizable from the original teachings. I.E. Some now say that unless you are born to the Aryan Iranian race that you cannot be a Zorostrian.

Judiasm Original Revelation Torah. Taught belief in God, a future last day and judgment, and the doing of what is right. Later, oral traditions were added and the Torah itself has been altered. The prophet Jesus's mission and revelation addressed this issue! The prophet Jesus was against oral tradition and the alterations to the Torah.

Christianity Original Revelation Injeel. Taught belief in God, a future last day and judgment, and the doing of what is right. Later, Paul, or someone claiming to be Paul, created fictional narratives based partially on the true revelation of Jesus. Even later, Priests, created their own interpretation of the altered revelation. The mission of the prophet Muhammad seems to have been to combat the newly created false narratives about Jesus and the false oral traditons and Torah alterations that infected and corrupted the revelation of Moses.

Islam Original Revelation Quran. Taught belief in God, a future last day and judgment, and the doing of what is right. Later, Scholars, created and/or distorted the original teachings through oral traditions.

Based upon a historical analysis of open source and freely available information the only conclusion which I can draw from this is that every time God reveals His true religion to mankind it is shortly corrupted! Satan is always quick to attack revealed religion! Quran alone is, therefore, the only sure way to go!

There is additional data which exists if one looks closely at the teachings of the Hopi, the ancient Chinese "Way of Heaven", and many other religions which bear the marks of having been revealed by God but later corrupted.

Also, a little thought to chew on, in the book of Revelation we are told that two prophets, who have not yet died, will return to earth before the day of judgment. I have a feeling that this is true and that their mission will be to make the final correction to all revealed religions before the final Judgment.

As the Quran confirms the truth of what remains of earlier revelation I must believe that this confirms the truth in revelations that a dark and terrible power will arise before the last day. Prophecies from all over the world speak of this and I as I do not believe in coincidence I must say that the beast is a very real thing.

What is scary is that there are a lot of catholic prophecies about a third world war after which a great ruler and a new pope will convert the muslims by force. I believe that if these prophecies are true then the ruler will be the antichrist and the new pope will be a false prophet. It makes sense in that they will preach lies and will compel people to believe their way.

Also, is not the story of Moses and Pharaoh an example of things to come? The Jews were in bondage in Egypt just as all mankind is in bondage on Earth now! The Quran states that those who practice usury are at war with God, and has not usury and the debt slavery associated with it now taken over the whole world! Usury is destroying the modern economy and throwing the world into bondage and chaos. To what end? I believe the Quran points us to revelations so that we know to what end.

Sorry if my post seems a little angry but I believe that serious darkness is coming, and fast; however, God has told us that there are messages if we will see. The dawn always comes after darkness and I believe that this is God's promise. Darkness will come, we will be tested, but God will break the back of the wicked just as He destroyed Pharaoh.

That is an excellent point, however, as there are variant readings how do we know which vocalisation is correct? From what I have researched there are seven, generally accepted, variant readings, which from my understanding are only variant in how they are vocalised.

It is only translating as "in the name of" that makes the first verse of the Quran a nominal sentence. If we translate it to mean "is pleased" or "is happy" then the sentence is no longer nominal and God then becomes the subject in the sentence. It follows then that if God is the subject of the sentence then the words are describing that which pleases God.

My peers and subordinates do not bring up religion at all at work. My conversion is out there for them to see and so I assume that maybe they are afraid to offend me by bringing it up. However, the soldier's who I work with are good-hearted men and women who have known me for some time and know the deeds which I have done in the unit. I get a lot of thanks from fellow soldier's who I help with issues and so I think that even if they are anti-islam they will not act disrespectfully towards me out of respect. Hopefully I have, thanks to God, effected a change in their views.

I have had one of my soldiers who, after doing an online course on recognizing terrorists, turned to me and told me, in jest, that I fit most of the criteria to get reported to security. However, the training mentioned things like reading the Quran everyday, being angry with the government, and etc...

Contacting Jinns I believe is not PROHIBITED in the Quran unless you provide me with the verse and I will rightfully take back what I say. Contacting the Jinn through magic is prohibited. Surah 24 says, "And who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come!"

Since we believe in that which was revealed before then the prohibition against using "Magic", or sorcery, or trying to contact the dead is arguably valid. Ask any Jew and they will tell you that this is a major sin! Summoning spirits was something which was done by pagans of the past and is still being performed by the modern Neopagans. The Jews were warned in the Torah to not follow the pagan practices of the communities around them and summoning spirits was one of the practices of those pagan communities. Was not King Saul condemned by God, in the Torah, when he sought a witch to summon the dead!

I know my post may sound angry but that is not the intent.

I ended up in this forum because I was specifically searching for those who also believe that the Quran is a complete message from God in itself. I attend Mosque but I do not feel as if I can speak what I truly believe there in regards to sunnah, hadith, or in anything which I truly believe. As the quran states, I believe in that which God revealed to Muhammad and in that which was revealed before. Often, if I do not understand something I will look to see how the subject was treated in the Torah, and the Bible to try and get a better understanding. Probably the biggest influence on my decision to follow my gut instinct, and not follow sunnah or hadith, are the words of the prophet Jesus who said that we must be more righteous than the scholars if we want to enter paradise.

However, by itself is also the verb that basically means "pleasantness." The root has a similiar meaning in Hebrew as well.

Hi, I am a soldier stationed at FT. Hood. I accepted submission to God after I read the Quran. While that may seem strange to some, it is real. I read the Quran after I realized that I had been deployed to countries with majority Islamic populations and yet knew nothing about Islam. I used to deride and hate Muslims but after reading the Quran I know the truth. I believe that it was God which spurred this desire to read the Quran. Also, a long time ago I was once a Christian and many of my future posts will probably reflect my upbringing. As the Quran tells us, I believe in the earlier scriptures as well and so I hope to bring engaging and useful questions or comments before fellow believers. I know that I do not know everything and so do not be afraid to reply to anything which I post.
