Yes, it wasn't about suicide bombing, though now I would like to ask is it a case of Muslims interpreting the Qu'ran in different ways? I saw this on a website

"There is an unpopular view that actions committed in the course of jihad resulting in one's own death are not considered suicide, even if by the nature of the act death is assured (e.g. suicide bombing). Such acts are instead considered a form of martyrdom. However, there is Quranic evidence to the contrary stating those involved in the killing of the innocent are wrongdoers and transgressors. Nevertheless, some claim Islam does permit the use of suicide only against the unjust and oppressors if one feels there is absolutely no other option available and life otherwise would end in death."

Is this an UNPOPULAR view amongst Muslims, as they say?

Also, as it would be suicide that someone has taken their own life (and no-one else's) someone here mentioned if it is depression that this would be different as it would be a disease. What else could they take their own life for if it wasn't due to mental illness? (Genuine question).

Hope these open questions don't offend anyone. I'm researching for a screenplay I'm working on and had a few questions to find out views on suicide.

I have seen a previous topic on this website with someone asking first hand, would they be forgiven for the act of suicide, but I wanted to ask if anyone knows of Muslims that would consider this forgivable and would this belief be completely unheard of?

When a Muslim commits suicide, would everyone consider that person not to have believed in Allah when they died, even if they professed to?

When it does happen do people pray for their forgiveness or do they just believe they will go to hell?

Does the cause of death ever get hidden by the person's family?

I'd really appreciate any views on this.
