Hello all,

I already stated in my first post to have stopped reading about Salaat and Sawm for a long time as I was quite confused about the different interpretations of these concepts. All of them very appealing but impossible to unite.

I hope you guys can give me a small update or link to your current understanding of the concept of Sawm.

I am new to this forum and intending to visit occasionally to improve my understanding of the Qur'an and perhaps sharing some ideas.
A couple of years a go I used to visit this forum once in a while and was found Ayman's understanding of the Qur'an very appealing.

At that time, somewhat confused about the different interpretations of Salaat and Sawm, I decided to withdraw for a while.
Now I would like to continue where I ended.

To start my first thread, I am reading Eckhart Tolle's book "A new world".
Has any of you read his book, and what do you think of his ideas.
I truly feel understanding these concepts will help us to better understand the message of the Qur'an.
What do you guys think?
