  • Well so far here is my story
    E ewells30

    Assalamu Alaikum everyone

First of all let me say that I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed satan.

What a ride it has been. I mean, I am always amazed at how Allah will open our eyes to the truth when we are confronted with it. I tried to run away from the truth of following the Quran and nothing but the Quran. I even thought well maybe right now I will try to be sunni and not believe in hadith or sunnah. That didnt work. So basically after trying to run away, Allah in all His graciousness and mercy led me back to true Islam - the worship of Allah alone and following the Quran alone. Mashallah! Allahu Akbar!

Now when I connect with Allah in my prayers it all comes together. No more oops I forgot to do this and that. It's all about Allah - coming to Allah with my praise, my questions, my fears, my shortcomings, my failures, my sins etc and asking Him for mercy and grace. So amazing.

I ordered The Message from this website and cannot wait for it to come in the mail. Finally a translation of the Quran without associations with any sect. Until I receive it in the mail, I will continute to read the Quran that I have and ask Allah to show me what it means.

No more feeling bogged down by rituals and man made inventions. I have finally been able to become free - free from the chains that once bound me in rituals and have been freed to worship and serve the only one worthy of worship - Allah.

If any of you out there have paltalk feel free to add me - my paltalk username is I_Seek_Refuge_In_Allah

May Allah always continue to bless those He blesses, forgives those who He forgives, and guides those whom He has guided. Ameen

    Assalamu Alaikum,

    Eric

    Assalamu Alaikum all

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I really appreciate it.

So true twilight about the prayers. To me it really makes no sense why we have to sit in a certain direction and sit in a certain way for Allah swt to hear and accept our prayers. Would not that be shirk? Or am I missing the definition of shirk?

  • Why do Muslims call other Muslims kaffir?
    E ewells30

In the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed satan.

Before I came across this forum, I was registered at another forum called why islam. And there was a good question posed about the hadith. So I read the posts the other people had posted and then I came across a post that sounded quite odd. Someone posted "Without Hadith no one can understand the Quran and thats a challenge. Dare to disprove me?" And so I thought ok. So I found a good article on free-minds.org site about hadith and posted the verses that stated that the Quran is correct, explained in detail, and makes things clear. Here is the post I posted with a couple of questions that I posed to the person who stated that without hadith no one can understand the Qur'an.

    Sura 6114-116

114 "Shall I seek a judge other than All?h while it is He Who has sent down unto you the Book (The Qur'?n), explained in detail." Those unto whom We gave the Scripture know that it is revealed from your Lord in truth. So be not you of those who doubt.

115 And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can change His Words. And He is the All?Hearer, the All?Knower.

116 And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from All?h's Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie.

    Sura 1689

89 And (remember) the Day when We shall raise up from every nation a witness against them from amongst themselves. And We shall bring you (O Muhammad SAW) as a witness against these. And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to All?h as Muslims).

    Sura 442

2 By the manifest Book (this Qur'?n) that makes things clear,

To me, from reading those verses in the Qur'an especially the one Sura 6114 which states "Shall I seek a judge other than All?h while it is He Who has sent down unto you the Book (The Qur'?n), explained in detail."

Now, if the Qur'an is not explained in detail then why would there be a verse in the Qur'an indicating it? In the Qur'an it also states the times for prayer (Sura 2458, Sura 11114, Sura 177. If these are the prayer times in the Qur'an then why would Hadith be needed to explain details if the Qur'an, as Allah has stated, is explained in detail?

Also in regards to Wudu here in the Qur'an it states this -

    Sura 56

6 O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Sal?t (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles. If you are in a state of Jan?ba (i.e. had a sexual discharge), purify yourself (bathe your whole body). But if you are ill or on a journey or any of you comes from answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (i.e. sexual intercourse) and you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. All?h does not want to place you in difficulty, but He wants to purify you, and to complete His Favour on you that you may be thankful.

This is why I follow the Qur'an only. For Allah has said it is explained in detail (Sura 6114) and if it is explained in detail why would there be need for additional books to explain the Qur'an?

May Allah guide all who seek for knowledge and may Allah guide them to the straight path. Ameen.

This is my prayer for everyone. And if I am wrong in my thinking about following Qur'an alone, Allah swt will make it known to me.

    Assalam Alaikum everyone,

    Eric

And later on I went back to check to see if anyone had posted anything and I came across this last post - "I'm closing this thread, we don't allow Khalifites to pose as Muslims here." I was like whatever

Why are people so blinded and quick to judge other muslims who are just seeking to know Allah and the Qur'an without any additions?

Anyway, everyone have a great day and may Allah swt bless us all as we walk the straight path as Allah swt has shown to us in the Qur'an. Ameen

    Assalamu Alaikum

  • Well so far here is my story

In the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful

Let me begin by saying that on September 14, 2007 I embraced Islam. Now before I accepted Islam I was a christian off and on. I was extremely a hardcore christian from about ages 18-20. Then when I was married for the first time I became a mormon. I was a mormon off and on for about 5 years and then after getting divorced I began my search for other religions out there. I came across Hare Krishna belief - practiced that shortly, but it didnt last. So off to the next one and the next and the next......And that cycle continued for a while. So next was Islam and that is when I stopped searching. In Islam I find truth, peace, happiness, basically the whole gammit of emotions. I never have felt closer to God than I do now in Islam. But before taking shahadah I was feeling so free to praise Allah and found it quite easy to believe in 1 God and ascribe no partners to Him. Here comes the odd part. After taking the shahadah, my faith went immediately on a downward spiral. I know Allah will test us for out benefit, but I was like how come why now lol. Sometimes I just feel so bound by ritualism rather than by Allah's mercy. I dont like feeling that way.

The following pretty much sums up what I am feeling right at this moment

Any Given Time - by Outlandish

Mmm any given time He'll be there
I don't really have to say no more
Mmm any given time He's right here
Embedded in my living soul - oh for sure
Oh any given time I see
The beauty that has always been
    In any given time

I'm totally lost with out Your light

Hell with the devil my biggest enemy's myself

Instead of entertaining I prefer to enlighten
But then again who am I to be in a position
To represent a whole generation of kids and to make them believe
When till this day I still struggle to uphold my deen
I read a 100 God is great in less then a minute
And though my tongue is fast like twista

Mmm any given time He'll be there
I don't really have to say no more
Mmm any given time He's right here

When I came to Islam I thought it was a religion of ease and not rituals. I mean dont get me wrong. I love to perform salat and draw close to Allah during that time and at any time throughout the day. But the whole do it at this time and if you forget a prayer than thats bad and then having trouble fasting during ramadan and being told that if I break my fast intentionally that its a serious sin etc etc etc.

    UPDATE

I was told today that basically the sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, explains and gives details to things found in the Quran. Is that the basic consensus when it comes to the sunni branch of Islam? So really now I dont know what to do. I know I will always follow the Quran in what it teaches and tells me to do.....grrrr.....confusion sets in.

    Assalamu Alaikum,

    Eric
