2221 And do not marry the female rejector until they believe. For a believing female servant is better than a rejector even if she attracts you. And do not marry the male rejector until they believe. For a believing male servant is better than a rejector even if he attracts you. Those invite to the Fire, while God is inviting to the Paradise and forgiveness by His consent. He clarifies His revelations for the people that they may remember.

So who are Believers

262 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.

282 And those who believe and do good works, they are the people of Paradise, in it they will abide.

2277 Those who believe and do good works, and hold the contact prayer, and contribute towards purification; they will have their recompense with their Lord and there is no fear over them nor will they grieve.

So who are rejectors

737 Who is more wicked than he who invents lies about God, or denies His revelations? These will receive their recompense from the record; so that when Our messengers come to terminate their lives, they will say ?Where are those whom you used to call on besides God?? They said ?They have abandoned us!? And they bore witness upon themselves that they were rejecters.

745 ?The ones who repel from the path of God, and sought to make it crooked; and regarding the Hereafter they were rejecters.?

So what happens when Believers associates with Rejectors

328 Let not the believers take the rejecters as allies instead of the believers. And whoever does so will have nothing with God; for you are to be cautious of them as they deserve. And God warns you of Himself, and to God is the destiny.

4144 O you who believe, do not take the rejecters as allies instead of the believers. Do you want God to have a proof against you?

I strongly believe most of these verses are taking out of context, i have come to notice that the word you translate as rejector (Kaafir) when used in the Quran always has a context in which it is used in the context in which these verses are used. i think the 4.144 is in clear reference to hypocrites in the preceding verses before it and those after it. and we know that hypocrites are not just rejecters they are people with an agenda to distort and destroy God's religion it really has nothing to do with marriage or friendship with non-muslims. So please take note

@ Wania if you are truly ready to become a true submitter then you shouldnt ask what does the Quran and Hadith say it is what does the Quran say and what can I deduce from my reason. If someone told you that the Quran supports terrorism would you then become a terrorist or neglect islam completely . All the "philias " you mentioned are wrong and harmful and shameful so you must know that such cannot be in the Quran tour job then is not to find out whether the Quran accepts it or not but to find ways to refute it from the Quran .Some Sunnis are really sick people better to stay away from them altogether but no hate. @Affy 77. I have felt the same way you are feeling now before when i was still a Sunni muslim. I must say though that as much as i enjoyed Shabbir Ahmed(he is of the same school of thought as GA Parwez and aabdul Nunn) I didnt find them entirely convincing. Then i read articles by Edip Yuksel and Ahmed Subbhy Mansour and then it all started to make sense.MY Opinion On the zakat it is voluntary tax consisting of a fair amount of money not too high and not too lowto be given to cahrity.Definitely not 2.5% this figure is obtained from the HAdith. the Khumms is rather more interesting and obligatory in the Quran and this is 20% to be paid to Muhammed who in those tomes represented the leader of the Ummah. i do wonder though that since the prophet is dead and there is no longer any Ummah inline with the teachings and rules of the quran then this amount can be donated entirely to charity. Again just my oipinion And Zakat isnt just purification like very other good deed but it purifies the WEALTH. The Hajj is really just an annual conference of believers and for collective thanks giving and joint prayer and sacrifice(whose meat doesnt reach God but to serve as a supply for food for the large crowd, God is not wasteful nor in need of blood). Their opinion of salat as you have pointed out is also a bit hard to swallow and contradictory so it is better to perform salat not the sunni ritual of course you may visit 19.org for more into this. though i agree that salat does not mean contact prayer in every instance of the quran

The reason why most people did not consider this question worth answering is because in Quran-alone islam there is no such thing as Hijab as least not in the sense of an head-covering for women. Read the verse yourself it doesn't say at anypoint that the women should cover their heads. And also as Quran-aloners we should make sure that we focus our life, behavior and studies on things that matter needless to say an head-covering doesn't matter for men or women it has no advantages nor benefits. My belief is that it is not the label but the principles as Rashad Khalifa said You can be a muslim submitter, christian submitter, jewish submitter or even Hindu and deist Submitter the important thing is that we agree on the same Principles and Reza Aslan is very intelligent but then he claims to be A Sufi and Sunni muslims wont take him seriously. I think all of us whether liberal or quranists must ally ourselves with thosse who share our ideals and unify ourselves against the evil of Sunni Islam(not sunni muslims).

I beg to differ. Anyone who says Obama is a Muslim is deceiving himself(Sorry to say) HE isnt anymore. He is also not what you would call a traditional christian either. When asked his views about Jesus he replied"I see him as a bridge between man and God" even though this isnt a Christian response it isnt a Submitters either. And Asiya i dont know what part of his character i just hope you dont mean his acceptance and advocacy for gay rights, abortion, female equality, Obamacare etc cause all those are not religious topics and we should learn to keep the religious away from the political as we are in a secular state. I personally support most of his policies except for abortion.

@Aaleeyah. You really need to read about what exactly ISlam following the Quarn-alone is about. NO offense i think you are still stuck between choosing true-islam and the practices of Sunnis and Shia. I saw your post too on the question of Hijab and i think it reflected a lot of ignorance or pride(saying that you feel that the Quran tells you that you need to wear an Hijab). It is very important to know the right path and follow it fully otherwise its all in vain. All submitters must submit to certain principles without fail but the applications and minor details may differ. I personally wont go to the extreme of saying that islam is a very easy religion . I thimk it is easy in the sense that it only orders that which is necessary and does not promote the following or practicing of aimless rituals like offering sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins, right-foot ,left-foot wearing a turban or growing a beard but it isnt easy in the sense that the commandment to make Justice on earth applies not only to leaders but to everyone.(Enjoin that which is right and forbid that whichis wrong) We as Quranists must be involved in Welfare development in one way or the order and seek to promote justice and human rights, and blow the whistles on the false practices of Sunni muslims and Shia especially when it causes harm e.g underage marriage(in Africa) and trying to legalize it in the name of Islam and the Prophet, hate of non-muslims, especially apostates, and the wearing of Niqab(in some places in Africa some fathers hit their daughters for not wearing an Hijab) in some cases forcibly. Also the code of etiquette propagated in the Quran calls for avoidance of Anger, rage, jealous, hate or hate speech, and cultivation of a quiet attitude, respect for all etc. but considering the behavior of people these days its very hard to stay nice. just pointing it out. I really dont see the benefits of this post. It is quite obvious that God only asks those questions more or less rhetorically to teach lessons.

I still find it very difficult to believe that after all that has been said on all Quran-alone sites about the Hijab, some people can still consider it compulsory to cover their head especially women. I still see people here quoting hadith to prove their point. Would you also like to quote the strong narrations that say that the prophet married Aisha at age 9, or the ones where he slept with MAry the Copt and on the way to Medina without an actual marriage or the ones when he told people to kill the children and women of Unbelievers since they are part of them or those where he told people that sending durrod on him will help them achieve the highest position in paradise?. "Females' hair induces pheromones" "thehair of females are seductive" Rubbish!!!. The idiots who invented these laws also said that the nakedness of men starts from the navel. Are you trying to say that the chest of built men like THE ROCK or John Cena or Ryan Gosling can induce pheromones in females. These are all ridiculous aguments. What about the face of women aren't those seductive too?? Do you want to wear Niqabs. If we accept the Quran we agree and accept to leave all the Hadith-mentality behind and embrace reason and justice and equity. The hair of most men in European countries can grow longer and finer than those of most women in Africa, should the men have to cover their hair. God has not places restrictions on you if you placed unnecessary restrictions on yourself or others then you are clearly in the wrong and do not have God on your side.
