  • Should we say Qul for Suras that start with Qul
    F fb_Albani

    Thank you for your replies.
I would only add few words?. as I see it

It?s not that God does not know our intention or what we want to say, it does. But is important to prove our obedience and use of logic.

If God says Say, than we should say what was told us to say. Adding Say in front shows that we either don?t understand what was asked from us or we are just repeating things without paying attention to the content.

Even in our everyday live, you will not take same when someone says for example
?In the name of God I will tell only the truth?..?
    and
?Say In the name of God I will tell only the truth??
Two sentences are totally different. First one is declaration/intension; second one is just a request directed to someone else, it?s not declaration and its void. Lawyers will take first one as the oath and its binding and second one is not the oath and is not binding.

So you are saying that Qul it's not Say on english, but can have other meaninings, right?

    Let me put this way
If there was a Sura saying Qul ?Audhu Billahi Minashaitanir Rajeem? would we say Qul Audhu Billahi Minashaitanir Rajeem or just as we do Audhu Billahi Minashaitanir Rajeem.

Adding Qul in front removes essence of the sentence from request for help/protection for the person who declares it, into a statement for third person to declare need for help and protection and these way making it void.

I believe that Suras that start with Qul are one of the most powerful prayers for our everyday life, but adding Qul in front it will make void entire prayer.

    Peace be upon you.

I apologize in advance for my ignorance. I?m striving in the name of Allah to find the right path and the truth.

I have a question regarding Suras that begin with Qul. I don?t know Arabic language but from translation Qul means Say. My question is Should we add ?Qul? in front or we should say only the part that was told as to say?

I?m afraid that by adding ?Qul? in front the rest will have no effect.
Let me explain how I mean. If you want, for example, to instruct someone to take an oath, you will say to him Say? I swear on the name of Allah?? and you expect from him to say ? I swear on the Name of Allah?? but if he says ?Say I swear on the Name of Allah..? it?s not valid anymore and it has no effect, because he is not declaring what was instructed but repeating your words.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
