Could you please tell me what you understand from the following?
"So be patient to what they are saying and glorify the grace of your Lord 1before the rising of the sun, and 2before its setting, and 3during the night glorify; and >2at various parts of the day perhaps you may be content" 20130 (Free-minds translation)
So far 3 + more than 2 parts of the day
Its seems to me that God is referring to prayers at specific times and 3 are mentioned clearly underlined but adding also parts of the day. Only its in plural. So, it made me wonder, couldn't God be more specific as to how many parts of the day there are? Knowing that the Coran is complete and detailed?
So I come to the next verse
"And hold the contact prayer at the two parts of the day, and the near part of the night. The good deeds take away the bad. This is a reminder to those who remember." 11114 (Free-minds translation)
Now 3 definate + 2 definate pats of the day
If you ask a french how many times they eat in the day, they would generally reply, morning breakfast, lunch, late afternoon goute and finally dinner. So, do the British late tea afternoon and many other nations around the world do so.
So God mentions one of those parts of the day in the following
"O you who believe, let those who are maintained by your oaths, and those who have not yet attained puberty, request your permission regarding three times before the dawn contact prayer, and when you put off your attire from the noon time, and after the evening contact prayer. These are three private times for you. Other than these times, it is not wrong for you or them to intermingle with one another. God thus clarifies the revelations for you. And God is Knowledgeable, Wise." 2458 (Free-minds translation)
So to me clearly, 5 times a day, is the number muslims are due to perform the obligatory salat.
and after the icha prayer, I do extra nafila following in the foot steps of the prophete Mohammad, according to the very best hadith from God
"And from the night you shall reflect upon it additionally for yourself, perhaps your Lord would grant you a station that is praiseworthy." 1779 (Free-minds translation) its clearer I think in arabic.
