I am from Nigeria. Had my own battle, too, but got over it. I was gradually becoming an agnostic until the Quran's Mathematical miracle based on Code-19 convinced me as God says it will. I still pray for certainty in my chosen beliefs but I have conviction already. I mean, I just need some genuine subjective signs from God, you know.

Regrading Solat, I started following RK's formula (5 times a day with some Quranic modifications) but later stopped it for his teachings i.e. the Quran alone, the Whole Quran and Nothing but the Quran. I believe he was a messenger of God who did his part in the Islamic Awakening. I researched further and discovered some analysis which try to prove Solat is not physical but mental, such as Man of Faith's, I guess. Further still, I came across three Solawat (plural) per day i.e. Fajr (Dawn), Wustoh (Mid-day) and Isha (Night). I liked the analysis on this for it is based completely on the Quran without any extraneous leaning, at least.

At some point, I prayed three times a day, with each Solat comprising two units (Rakaat). When I had the mind to accept even more Quranic analysis, I disowned the word Rakaat from my Solat because it never occurs in the Quran at all. So, How do I pray now? Three times a day with each Solat comprising a single round of standing, bowing and prostration (you might call that one Rakaah), though; for all I care, it is based on the Quran alone, the Whole Quran and nothing but the Quran. Did I come across this analysis on my own? No...! I found it on Quran-Islam.org

it is the Soul that goes into hibernation after it is removed, not the body. I guess you misunderstood the adjectival clause in bold in the quote above.

It all started when I angered my dad with an FB post that supported Salafism over Sufism which I was born into. I was raking the internet when I came across a Quranist Website. I was shocked and was going to make a post to warn my FB friends about it when my dad's call came in telling me to leave the house before he got back from work.

Earlier that morning, we had a talk on some theological issues. He was noticing my refusal to give any value to his Sufi practices. He asked me if what he believed was wrong but I refused to give a reply. When he pestered me for one, I took a Quran with the intent of showing him 459 & 3336 to justify following every authentically fabricated hadith of the prophet. He was angry that I had the effrontery to do that. He criticised my audacity and attributed it to my attending Tablighi classes (most people mistake Tabligh Jamaati for Salafism). He simply made threats...should I embrace Salafism (which I had since final year in high school 2011).

Luckily for me, that afternoon, my father stumbled upon an FB post I had made the previous day. While I was at home (during last rain semester break) raking the internet for some hadith to back a claim, his phone call came in. After the call was ended, I could not make the FB post against Quranism any longer. I just started looking for how to placate my dad whenever he came back. The whole issue was settled.

I was becoming convinced by the ideas of the members (mostly atheists) of an FB Group, DEBATE FAITH, and I was losing my faith. In fact, it got to a stage I only observed Solat to cover up my new atheistic leanings. It was at this point I rediscovered Dr Khalifah's Code-19 theory which I had disbelieved because of Dr Abu Ameena's Criticisms of it which is also shared by Answering-Islam's Sam Shamoun. I also discovered Kassim Ahmad' Hadith A Re-Evaluation and subsequently, Quran A Reformist Translation. Since last year's September, I have only finally & fully accepted Quran alone in February 2014. I still hide it from dad, tho.

The concept of grave punishment is very alien to the Quran. If one believes the Quran contains all the details, then there is no reason to believe in grave punishment.

In fact, the portrayal of the concept in the hadith is enough to throw light on its falsity once scrutinised from the point of view of reason. It is a depiction of resurrection before the day of judgemet i.e. if the soul is returned to the body immediately the relatives leave the grave, for how long does the person have to stay like that? Will he remain alive in enjoyment or punishment there until the day of resurrection? When will the soul be taken again so that it resurrects a second time on J-Day? Is such resurrection/judgement before the J-Day even spoken of in the Quran at all?

Further depiction of grave punishment in the hadith gives one the impression that the prophet had knowledge of the unseen save that revealed to him in the Quran and this, the Quran denies flatly. In fact, even a tradition attributed to Aisha denies this, too.

God speaks of birth, the moment before death, after death and resurrection but says nothing of grave punishment, not because He is forgetful but because there is no such thing as that; He does not also run out of words.

There are no funeral rules in the Quran. I suppose those in the hadith are some other borrowed Zoroastrian rites like the 5 daily Solat. If you like, wash the corpse with soap and water or just water. There is a simple burial rite; just dig a grave in the ground and cover up the corpse. In some countries, it is more advisable economically to cremate. You can also keep in the morgue if you do not care about it being used for practice at Med School. The body is just a vessel for the soul which goes into hibernation until J-Day when it will be judged.

If the punishment of twins, one that spends 45 years commences before that of another who spends 50, he will have suffered more than the other even before he is judged at all; "audi alterem patem".
