I know!! I use always read them when trying to convince something was haram just 'cos the scholar opinion was in the quran.

I think "Beauty" simply means panties because zinah means "Adornment" and the god says that women shouldn't open their legs to reveal the beauty of theirs that isn't normally apparent. A woman can't send erotic signals to related men, men who don't desire women or children who "Have no understanding of a woman's shameful genital parts" by revealing her panties to them, but she'd be sending a very erotic message to an unrelated man if she were to let him see her panties. 2431 also says women shouldn't show their breasts or their privates.

I think 3359-61 apply only when the rate of sexual assault goes up. Women are told to lengthen their garments so as not to be harassed or raped, but 3359-61 also say that men who harass and rape women can't be allowed to live with the believers so the measures women are told to take against such men become redundant once they're no longer around.

I very much agree with what your saying. It's a bit hard to know what is considering showing your beauty. Is it make-up, hairstyle or just simple clothes.

It would be interesting to study the exact wording of the parent verses. It seems to say show them kindness/gratitude, and obey them not in matters of comprimising one's faith, e.g. shirk / associating partners.

I think the 'forbidding something allowed by God' rule only applies in matters of Deen or religion, not for example when they forbid their child to stay out with their friends after dark, which I think is important to control with the issues in our cities, obeying or disobeying God is not at question here, it's the obeying the parents bit which would be most important as they are only looking after you and ensuring that you don't stay out after dark where dangers to people increase with the druggies walking the streets, they're only trying to reduce the risk of you getting hurt.

The way i understood it is that you should cover from your chest area to your knee's.
But on the other than what i don't really get is that alot of things can excite men.
Wether that may be her eyes, hair, or just the smooth skin whatever that may be.
As far as i know, it's be to use common and moral sense when it comes to dressing up

I see nothing wrong with a muslim girl western or not to wear a skirt to the lenght of the knee's. As long as she isn't showing her

Personally I think dress is explain very well in the quran, bascially I think the three main things to remember
is to Cover out private parts I'll leave that to your imagination, Lengthen our garment *Nothing far too short
that when you sit down or bow down for whatever reason that your private parts are showing hence what Allah
said.
I agree what some of you guys said that modesty plays a huge part on how you behave. Me personally I'm not a wild
person, I'm shy, quiet and humble, although i wear hijab Only because of my mother, i would still dress modestly.

I'm very grateful to that Allah has guided me here. Im honestly dreading the day I probably will have to
tell my family that I only believe in the quran, cos i love them very much but its hard knowing that I
want to fulfil my ambition knowing that my mum wouldn't like it and adding onto that i only follow the
quran alone. She woulnd't undertand. -[

I remember clearly the night i was crying cos i was just so conused about islam. Certain things just didn't
make any sense to me at all. And i asked god to guide me and that, The next i just did loads of research
and landed here, and im still not done. I don't know enough about the things in the quran.
But then again im 17, hopefully I still have a while to figure things out.

By the way, I sort have come to an conlusion of what i might think allah meantby the limit in our dress code. Mainly always be modest and i think what
he mean by the 'lower you garments' is that women shouldn't wear something that is so short that when you bow down or sit that your body's your private
part is showing and like never wear something low cut especially if your trying to be sexy or whatever. Basically dont show isn't important and private
that only you husband should be able to see.

I think thats quite true, You shouldn't dress sexy or seductivly weather its for a film or not. But sometimes there is some films where they person might wear shorts but not being sexualized for example the new film 'Smart People', Actress Ellen Page character seems to be a very quiet and humble person even though there is a scene where she is at school in a Gym lessonand she's wearing shorts. Obviously i wouldn't do this role because of that but she isn't sexualised in anyway but its just setting the scene.

If i was going to be an actor in a movie, i would become an actor that teaches people about morality(right and wrong), teaches them quran, science, historical fact, inspire people to have an healthy lifestyle through the role i played as the movie character, and lots of more. This is personally some of the things i would do if i was going to be an actor. You know probably a lot more than me when it comes to movies, so you probably have many great ideas. I think definitely it is good idea, and that you should follow your dream of becoming an actress )

My advice would be to stay away from the hollywood or any other big and wellknown filmindustry, because many sinful acts like, Profiting too much from movies, having sex to get a contract, having to kiss other characters, Warmovies and killing-movies, fiction that hypnotises the masses into living in fantasy world, and lots of other time wasting, unproductive and sinful movies are made there. It may also happen other corruptions behind the curtains that we don't know about yet. I don't want to only critisize because there are off course movies in hollywood that are good and moral too. For instance comedies like the comedies by jim carrey, will smith, and movies by al pacino, stallone, eddie murphy etc have been are very inspirational. But i think at least 80% of the movies from hollywood actually are garbage, and are movies that promotes sex, drugs, violence and other sinfull stuff, and do more harm than good. It sometimes seems like money is all they ever care about, cause quality and originality, inspirationality pluss lots of other factors don't contain in most of their movies. Because of these reasons, hollywood is therefore overrated in my opinion. Hollywood could have been 10 times better, and maybe even more. It could been a lot better if they made more inspirational, educational, truthgiving, scientifical, historical, and moral movies. But this would never happen, because these kind of movies don't sell. The movies that sells are fiction, action, drama and other kind of non-realistic and entertaining movies. And as long as people are desperate for fiction, action, and entertainment movies, they won't be able to see the truth, and they won't be able to think outside the box. Sad, but true.

Hollywood also make millions of dollars for movies that should be a lot less cheaper in my opinion. So if you want me to be completely honest with you Forget hollywood... FOR EVER....

Why don't start your own little indepent-filmindustry/company in the future? Or contact morally people that have independent industries so you can be an actress for them? There are still many industries that care about morality and good deeds, and this is a fact. However, many of the movies they make may know reach the mainstream media or the television as much as the commercial and popular movie-industries. Yeah, I do partly agree with you David however. film is about being creative and and pushing the boundries in creating something different. But i do thing that inlcuding sex or too much sensuality in film is a bit pointless unless its about love between to people.
The kind I movie i like to write about is films that will shock people or suprise them. Films about the relationship between a parent and child or even a war film about children that are caught in between these brutal acts and how they are the victims in wars etc.
But it is true hollywood is a sinful city and Im not likeother girls who are into this whole 'celebrity' lifetsyle..Its very pointless., honstly the only thing I love about what comes with the whole lifestyle is that you get to go to movie premieres and doing interviews with people regarding you or your films. There i have an chance to be me and tell people what makes me who i am, which is ISLAM.

Trust me, even dough my i am from a country with a modern culture, and great technology etc, the people from my country are just as ignorant as people from extreme religious countries. Ignorance exists in many form. Extremely religious people can be ignorant, modern non-religious people can be ignorant, and all other types of people can be ignorant. I think ignorance is almost on the same level in different countries and within different communities, but it exists in different form. Following man-made teachings and being against science = Ignorance, at the same time following all types of western ways of living like for example drinking and partying(nightclubs) = Ignorance...
