Welcome to the forum! I was a Catholic, got interested and converted to Islam. And, believe it or not, I use Jesus' teachings as my 'Hadith', and Buddha's teachings to live my life. As for those 'official Hadiths', I take them as 'wise words' only -- if it's good and reasonable, fine; otherwise I disregard them. Religion is only a 'brand', if not a football team trying to win fans. What a brilliant welcome message.. bravo couldn't agree any more with each of your words... Salam Sister Jaynaj. I am not going to answer your question - just giving you some food for thought. I know you are smart enough to find your own answers. Did your mathematics teacher at school have authority to assign you textbooks? Homeworks? Quizes? Exams? Did she have authority to prescribe when a homework will be due OR how long an exam will last? Did she have authority to create new mathematical laws? Are 1 and 2 same? May Allah guide us all to the straight route. Regards, Arman
