RED mosques costs a lot of money and imo there are better things to spend our money on than a mosque.

    Peace Bender. Thank you

I'm not referring to something that would require a lot of money per say. Just somewhere for us to come together. People want to know where they can go to meet with God alone Muslims. One brother said that he and 15+ others meet regularly in India. I used to secure a conference room once per week at my local library so 7 of us could convene for a self improvement class.

What does she mean with fully accept Christ? Does it mean you have to believe and act exactly as she does, or just simply believe in Christ?

She meant to accept him as God's son and the king God placed over His kingdom. These I could not do. Anyway, I just have to make sure the next time around that I and the woman I am building with are truly aligned in our beliefs and values. It's the only way for me moving forward.

    Peace

I have learned it the hard way that there is no Solid Foundation at all for a Marriage,
except the strong Belief and deep Devotion of a Man and a Woman in their hearts to the Same GOD.

    Salaam LastDay,

What can I say but I agree wholeheartedly?

lol, if you don't think like them it is unlikely for them to get your view.

Oh no, I'm not at all interested in shifting their view. I was simply stating that the other communities here are conservative (don't bother each other). A good area to build something.

Did you read Al Qaida's A Course in the Art of Recruiting? The brainwashing tactic, they use seems to be heavily focused on talks about heaven and hell. You can take a look at it here http//www.onemagazine.es/pdf/al-qaeda-manual.pdf Note that the entire manual is a "brainwasher" targeted even at the recruiter. It is an eyeopener. I haven't found a single page in which the writer tells the recruiter and his target to refer to Quran. The brainwashing is heavily dependent on "lectures" of the mullahs.

I personally would advise to be in a romantic relationship for at least a solid year before marrying someone. You can be looking at a completely different person viewing them as a friend vs. viewing them as a long-term romantic partner.

A year establishes a good amount of time to learn and develop as a couple. If you can wait until the 2 to 3 year mark, that's even better. The infatuation period can last up to or even a little longer than 2 years. On top of that, studies show that couples who have waited a year or longer before engagement decrease their chances for divorce by 20 to 39%.

The intention was marriage but we were not getting married yet. I think all the physical stuff (premartial sex, ect) that couples get into during the dating and courting process is what interferes with truly getting to know one another and properly gauging the compatibility. Proper courtship shouldn't take years, but shouldn't be a sprint either.

Aww, those are very sweet words that ended up having an empty meaning. I am sorry that happened to you Kosq. God will guide you to the right person at the right time.

Thank you Natasha. I am faithful and hopeful for the future always. With our deen, how could I not be?

I am in CA. I do not mind not having any Quran only mosque. But then again, if one is built, it may become the target of Islamophobes, I mean sectarians who have problem with our view. I am rather interested in having some kind of a Quran only organization through which we can take care of different communities and promote progress for the entire world.

Where I am located, there are 5 Muslim communities within 15 miles of one another. They're pretty conservative around here. I think it's a great location for a study group to turn into something more profound.

I am sorry to hear about what she did. Wasn't the engagement a little too quick?

I know it will hurt you for awhile, but it will pass. No two days will ever remain similar. I would still say that the quick breakup saved you from future pain.

I didn't think so. I've known her for about 10 years. I knew her family, she knew mine. I thought we were laying a solid foundation. I'm not the type to do things in haste. I mean, we were talking about the importance of marriage very early on (and we didn't believe in the boyfriend/ girlfriend relationships). There was no idleness in our interaction. Anyway, I don't know, ya know?

    Thank you much Reel

    My 2 cents on polytheism

According to 2115 the Creator is infinite and the logical conclusion is the whole creation including you, me, everyone is a tiny part of the infinite Creator. Now what is the belief of your ex-fianc??

    1. Jesus is The God in entirety
    2. Jesus was part of The God
    3. Jesus was separate from The God

#2 does not clash with the reality so you might find harmony with that belief.
#1 and #3 are falsehoods and you might have difficulty finding harmony.

May the infinite Creator guide us all to the truth.

    Peace

In the 6 months we were together, she didn't really express her true beliefs until the breakup. Perhaps she was concerned how I would feel about her and the future of the relationship. Obviously, that concerned subsided. She said I was being stubborn to the truth, and that if I deny him (Jesus), my end wouldn't be good, and......oh yeah, she loved me.

    Peace Comrox,

Peace and welcome to (posting on) the forum!

I understand wanting that community aspect. I do too. I hope participating in this forum can give you some of that. )

We're an incredibly small minority. I think that's something to keep in mind. We're spread out all around the world. Most of us don't ever meet another person in real life who believes as we do. We're not at the level of "followers" (to use the term loosely) to establish a large scale and permanent presence in one community, in one location on the globe.

The Muslims who are from practicing families or communities and believe in only the Qur'an won't be outspoken about it. Those who completely rebel against the hadiths will keep their beliefs to themselves, because they know people won't like their views and also that their views can't be changed. I imagine you would have to get close to this person for them to tell you. Similarly, those who are not sure where they stand about the hadiths may easily be swayed back to traditional thinking if they voice their opinions even once. There are no "safe spaces" for people like us to gather and voice our opinions within the Muslim community.

Of course I would love for a physical place and gathering with other like-minded people as well. But I would worry about the harassment, especially the physical kind, if the place of gathering was attracting a lot of visitors (or even only a few). I would hope this wouldn't be the case though.

And this is only what you may face in the west... In the Muslim countries? Forget about it.

I'm curious if any members of this forum host any Quranic study groups from their home or anything like that.

Peace and welcome to (posting on) the forum!

I'm very sorry to hear about the end of your engagement.

As much as it hurts now, it sounds like it was for the best. She knew all along that her heart was with Jesus. She knew that this was not your chosen path in life. She probably worried that you weren't going to get saved. Sounds like she was hoping all along, secretly, that you would change. And that's not something you should be hopeful about in a partner.

Sending my love and hugs to you. group It's going to get better, and one day when you're ready, God willing you're going to meet someone whom you can feel compatible with in all the important aspects of life. )

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement!
Here's a portion of what she shared about me

I'm never letting you go because what I've always desired to experience in a relationship, I'm experiencing and it's only the beginning. A man who is committed to God, respectful, honest, faithful, caring, sense of humor, man of his word, dresses nice, committed to the family, patient, a gentleman, a great lover, a man of purpose, a man who can cook, intelligent, very attractive, disciplined, a love for studying and growing, enjoying basic things in life like just riding in silence in the car, willing to travel, and so much more. I can go on and on about how all these qualities are what I've always wanted even when I didn't realize it. Babe, you sum it all up. The way you are sums up what I've always wanted and for that I am grateful because the Father gave me the desire of my heart but I know it's because I first delighted myself in Him that I am able to recognize my heart's desire.

I thank God that I was able demonstrate to her the qualities of a believer. )

    Peace Timotheus,

Thank you for your response. New Zealand, wow. God willing, we will have a place to call our very own. In all my years, I have yet to meet another believer as I. Yet, I am hopeful for the future.

She made it very clear that she was a polytheist that final week, not so much before. She followed my lead our prayers were to God alone, the discussions regarding religion were very good. I've written extensive notes on the gospels and compiled verses that support what I believe to be Jesus true teachings. She was receptive (or so I thought). But, the things she shared that final week, there is no chance for us. God willing, I'll be past it soon emotionally.

    Peace everyone,

I have a friend who is open to the idea of courtship and marriage. Fatima was born and raised in Jordan. She has been in the States for 3 years now as a student. She is in her early 30?s, could pass for Russian, attractive, takes care of herself. Fatima is Quran alone and Arabic is her first language (she speaks fluent English as well). She has a child (teenager) and a dog that she brought over from Jordan (you absolutely have to accept her dog . She is interested in meeting someone in the States only, preferably of a similar background but she is flexible if he is Quran alone and pious. She resides not too far from Philadelphia, PA.

If anyone is interested, you can PM me. Share some things about yourself, provide a picture if you?d like, and an email address. I will forward your message to her. If she?s interested, you guys can take it from there. If you have any question feel free to ask.

    Peace Everyone,

I've been roaming the website for a few years now actually. I've enjoyed so many topics and views. It has certainly been a blessing. I'm utterly bummed out that there is no mosque available to me that does not compromise the Deen. It's been over 10 years since I've been a part of a religious center and I do miss aspects of it. I desire most of all to be around like minded people who want to make a positive difference in the world. So if you're close to Philadelphia (I'm in Wilmington) I'd love to meet you!

Question- Why are there only like one or two mosque that claim to uphold the Quran only (or perhaps I'm wrong)? How come they aren't springing up all over the country?

The past two months have been challenging for me. I was engaged to marry an amazing Christian woman whom I truly loved. I felt totally secure in the relationship. She posted a detailed, beautiful post about me (us) that brought so many of her family and friends to tears (including my mother). It marked 6 months of being together. She expressed that it was the "most amazing experience of her life". Yet, less than 3 weeks later, she was giving me an ultimatum to, "Fully accept Christ or we can't be together". For the following 5-7 days I did my best to reason with her to no avail. She said that God had called her into His ministry and that I had a choice to make. She apologized for letting the relationship go on as long as it did while knowing in her heart of hearts that our religious difference didn't sit well with her. We prayed together each night (we would alternate who prays), but she never added Christ to the prayer out of respect for my beliefs (I never asked her do that-I simply shared my views with her). Said she had recently asked God for forgiveness for not including Christ in our prayers. Anyway, this is the 2nd thing I'm bummed out about ( Peace/ Love to all
