  • I renounced my faith in the divinity of the Qur'an today
    L lordfox

Than what are you doing in a Quranist forum? If you don't believe in the Quran and are not interested in it than why are you here? I don't understand people coming here telling us they lost faith and stuff. Do you want us to convince you otherwise? Or do you expect that maybe you can convince some here to do the same you did? I am not sure what are you gaining here if not to some how provoke people.

Why are you angry ? You're starting to act as the religious sunnis when they find out that someone has left their religion. Perhaps you are of the purified, and never felt that you were losing belief in your present spirituality, even though, let the others doubt, for it is part of the path. They are bringing up their concerns and doubts, you should, instead of posting such, answer and explain all of their questions if you can.

So god wrote the Quran for illiterate backward and primitive Arabs only?
Or for Arab aristocracy and elite? Translations not planned?
So it is not a universal message to all humanity and for all times, or is it?

And to which rest do you wish good luck? And what about the rest of the other rest? Or the ones who are not the rest? You do not wish them luck? ???

Why are you seeking defiance ? I meant good luck for the rest of his spiritual journey and life in general, I really cannot see how you misunderstood this. As for your question, it is interesting, the same could be argued for the previous revelations as well and sincerely, I do not know. How can a message be clear, when it cannot be understood universally, and can easily be intentionally obscured ? I am still unsure as to if, the Qu'ran claims itself to be for all times, and if it does, how and why, so I will abstain from commenting on that issue.

Yet another that leaves Quranism, I should start counting now.

But of course, I too reject what you mistakenly denote as the Qu'ran, as the translations were proven to be corrupt, and the methodology wrong. Like Jafar pointed out, you do not need the Quran, or any other book to live as an honest man, for morality is universal, and the books, only reminders. I have found that most people who have studied the "Qu'ran" have come to the same conclusions as you, but fear veils their reason, and so they continue living in a lie.

Anyway, I applaud your honest and courage. Good luck for the rest!

  • Why is Rashad Khalifa wrong?
    L lordfox

    Peace lordfox.

If Rashad based salat on hadith, why did he correct how to pray?

Do you mean there is no salat in the Qoran?

The Qoran may not give the number of salat as 5 , but where does it say you cannot pray 5 times?

It clearly says devote your prayer to GOD Alone and he did that.

I do not lie deliberately. I fear my Lord. We are all accountable.
    Peace.

I don't think you understood what I said. R.K did not base his salat on utterances that were supposedly said by Muhammad, but rather on hadiths that are thought to be transmitted generation to generation, from Abraham.

I am not really interested in discussing the matter with you, personally I am convinced that R.K was not a messenger, I have written numerous essays in French detailing all of the arguments against him and his cult, obviously, you are very much attached to him and his teachings, so I will let you be, I can only wish you luck.

    General Issues / Questions

  • Why is Rashad Khalifa wrong?
    L lordfox

1- I never hate him but I don't believe him being a messenger because he removed two aayaats out of AlQuraan. Messenger should confirm the scripture what is in hands.

If you use that argument, they will simply reply that it is was a purification of the book. Rather, bring forth the fact that he claimed to know the exact date of the end of times, and even wrote an essay on it, while the Quran clearly states that no one but Allah knows it.

Furthermore, good logic says that R.K rejected all hadiths, which is nothing but a lie. As R.K saw "salat" as a structured form of prayer, he based it upon hadiths that were thought to be preserved from the time of the messenger Abraham.

None of these terms is explained in the Quran, not because the Quran is NOT complete, but because God already taught us that all these rituals are to be inherited and learned from previous generations and are well known to them. All rituals should be devoted to GOD ALONE. Most of these practices are universally accepted.

The best way is to analyze the translations with the lenses of logic and morality, and not the inverse.

  • Status of Lesbians in Quran Alone???
    L lordfox
    • Sexual activity is only supposed to take place among the permitted people in the permitted way.
    • Same sex partner is not in the list of the permitted. Neither can it be argued by assuming "vice versa".

You know, it simply never ceases to amaze me, how so-called Muslims and fervent servants of a God that is supposed to be good in the absolute sense, who begin and end their talks with greetings of peace, would say with no shame that it is wrong and punishable to be homosexual. The simple and single argument (of many more) of "there is no compulsion in Islam" is enough to expose your evident hypocrisy, but again like always, you are absolutely free to distort and make use of false reasoning to justify your morally wrong and wicked views.

On the day of justice, we will then see your faces.

The problems with the Qur'an are nto problems with the Qur'an as the problems with previous scriptures were not problems with the, but the problems are with the misuse and corruption of those scriptures or revelations. Any new revelation would be subject to the same dangers from the people.

Please compare these two translations of this simple and short surah

It is clear that the Quran has also been subject to corruption, this time though, it is not the words that were altered, but the language that was dramatically changed, or misinterpreted. How can you use as a purifier something that is neither properly understood nor properly translated ?

    General Issues / Questions

  • Is the Quran the last scripture
    L lordfox

The Quran is the final scripture because Muhammad is the SEAL OF THE PROPHETS. From my understanding prophets bring scripture. So if a prophet brings scripture and Muhammad is the final prophet, doesn't this automatically mean that the Quran is the final scripture??? Also what about the fact that God says in the Quran that he would PRESERVE the QURAN. If the quran is preserved would there be need of another scripture??? Putting two and two together one can see through simple deduction and common sense that the quran is indeed the final scripture. Else what would be the need of preserving the Quran and a final Prophet???

    Peace,

    Kevin

    First of all, calm down.

Secondly, you must understand that the Arabic language has been changed, and so rendering translations unsure. As I have said previously, we should try to understand why would Muhammad be the last 'prophet', if we can find a plausible philosophical answer to that, then the translation is correct.

We have to evaluate the actual quran from a philosophical perspective. To say again, that the Qu'ran is a preserved book, is something that I find hard to swallow, why would the One not protect the previous messages ? If you think, like Jafar, that the One works on trial and is not omniscient, then fine.
