Slaves
Unity in people will bring down any corrupt system.
Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.
Quran 2216
Day after day, year after year, our people whether Muslim or non-Muslim, black or white, are victims of a global mass holocaust. Inside prison walls, locked in steel cages, our people made nameless, just a number on Babylons slave list. We hear of their situation and do nothing. We see them struggle and do not offer them a hand. May Allah curse those who turn away.
You shall believe in Allah and His Messenger, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is better for you, did you but know!
Quran 6111
When someones Mother is murdered and maimed, that is your Mother that has been killed. When someones sister is beaten and gang raped, it is your sister that has been raped. As the minds of our children inhale the plague of wickedness; evil is triumphant. When bombs are dropped on the homes of our siblings, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, evil is triumphant. So long as we do nothing; evil will forever remain triumphant.
And (as for) those who strive hard for Us, We will most certainly guide them in Our ways; and Allah is most surely with the doers of good.
Quran 2969
Day after day, year after year our people sit in a prison wondering if there is a God. Praying there will arise a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong. Day after day, year after yearnothing. May Allah reward 10 fold those who fight when directly oppressed. May Allah reward 100 fold those who fight for the oppressed, when NOT directly oppressed. As we lean back in our recliners and play video games; the oppressed in prison prostrate on their faces praying for Allah to help them. As we pile up food and provision in our homes; the war torn victims of the world prostrate them selves in the dirt asking Allah for food. As we enjoy the comfortable luxuries and materialism that pours from the whore of Babylon; the plagues of HIV and other man-made poisons slowly eat away and consume the mind, body and spirit of our family.
Those who believed and fled (their homes), and strove hard in Allah's way with their property and their souls, are much higher in rank with Allah; and those are they who are the achievers (of their objects).
Quran 920
We have been given a choice to fast for the sake of Allah. Others starve because they have no choice. We have been given knowledge and the keys to the Kingdom; others remain locked in the Pit of Satans prison. EVERYDAY we hear of wars and rumors of wars. Those with eyes to see and hears to hearhear the cries of slaves in bondage. We are without excuse this day and age. With modern technology we can see the atrocities every time we turn on the T.V. EVERYDAY we hear of murder and war. Everyday we hear the laughter of the Babylonian whore. Everyday believers are killed. Everyday the devils sharpen their sword.
And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.
Quran 2190
Those who fight for power, glory and fame, are the furthest thing from Islam. Fight the oppressor to save the oppressed, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, for the sake of love, for the sake of Allah. Those who oppress and call themselves Muslims, are the furthest thing from Islam. Those who wage war to cause division, are the furthest thing from Islam.
So long as we remain prisoners of race, culture and divided religion, we will continue to be slaves, oppressed. We can drive down the road of almost and state in America and see cows in fences getting fattened up waiting to be slaughtered. Although to most this is an everyday occurrence and completely normal; these cows are slaves. Born and raised in bondage, these cows have learned to accept their situation, not realizing the horror that awaits. We are merely reflections of these cattle. Born and raised in bondage, we do not see ourselves as slaves. We have become comfortable with our materialistic lifestyles. As long as bombs arent dropping on OUR heads, as long as WE are not being invaded, raped and slaughtered, we continue to forsake our siblings throughout the world that DO have bombs dropping on their heads, and ARE being invaded, raped and slaughtered.
Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong and these it is that shall be successful.
Qur'an 3104
Remember the Mothers crying at their childrens graves as they pray for their childs soul. Remember the innocent prisoner as he has been sitting in his cell for the last 50 years, staring at the wall, giving up hope in Allah. Remember the starving children that are so weak they cant swat the flies that eat away at their open wounds. As we sleep with full stomachs warm in our beds, too lazy to get up in the middle of the night for Tahajjud prayers, remember the Mujahid as he watches the terrain while his comrades sleep. We must make a stand and fight for truth. This will not be an easy fight. Hardship awaits. Through hardship we will find Heavens gates. On this journey through life we will experience heart-breaking atrocities, and learn even our own brother can betray.
And they sold him for a small price, a few pieces of silver, and they showed no desire for him.
Quran 1220
How could we know good unless we know evil? Now that we know evillets crush it.
Whoever brings good, he shall have better than it; and they shall be secure from terror on the day.
And whoever brings evil, these shall be thrown down on their faces into the fire; shall you be rewarded (for) aught except what you did?

Ashura A Time for Direct Action
By Abu Jamal
"Every day is Ashura and every land is Karbala." - Imam Jafar As-Sadiq (as)
Islam is a revolution. Islam is not a safety-net for the masses, to keep tucked away as spiritual insurance in the event that iniquitous come to face the consequences of their deeds. Islam is an active, vibrant way of life; the Din. Islam is not a religion for those content to listen to a speech that pats them on the back and allows them to feel contented until their nagging conscious deteriorates the callous placed over their heart. Islam is not for those with such a covering over their hearts, enjoying them so much ease at living a life of inaction and complicity in the face of a world ridden with injustice. Islam is a revolution.
Those who are Muslim are called in the Qur'an and Ahadith the "Shi'a," the "Partisans" of Muhammad (sal) and his Family, the Ahl al-Bayt. Those who are Muslims are ones who "Submit" to the Will of Allah, even in the face of dire oppression and seemingly terrible consequences. For the Muslim, Faith, Love and Servitude of Allah are the primary goals of living one's live. Concern is given to personal comfort, safety and the like. However, when faced with the Islamic obligation to "oppose evil and enjoin what is right" then it becomes the moral imperative of all Muslims to take a stand in the face of the opposition, no matter how uneven the odds may seem.
For unlike the kaffirun, we as Muslims, have a Power on our side that not even all the forces and legions of Shaiytan could muster any true competition against. Allah is the best of Knowers and the best of Planners. Enacting the Will of Allah does not always guarantee comfort, safety or ease in this world, but it promises us fulfillment of our Master's wishes, and Paradise in the Hereafter. If Allah chooses that we should die in the hands of the infidels, or that we should be imprisoned in the cages of Babylon, then this is Allah's Plan, and by it we shall be saved. And through this, the whole world shall be elevated - in time - to a state of Islam. For the Muslim, there is no doubt as to the Reality of this.
The Shi'a
There is no god save Allah, there is no religion save Islam, there are no believers save the Partisans of Allah, Hu's Prophets, and the Ahl al-Bayt. This is affirmed by both Sunni and Shi'a Ahadith. To be of Allah's "Partisans" or "Shi'a" means to be an active "Participant" in the revolution of Islam. Islam is not Faith for the bystanders who would wish to sit by and cheer on the Mujahidun. Islam is a revolution.
It is a testimony to the craftiness of the deceiver (Iblis) that throughout the past 1,400 years we have seen the rise and fall of so many kaffirun masquerading in the name of Islam, while carrying out the most grievous oppressions in the name of our Holy Faith. From the time of the betrayal of Imam Ali (as) - when even some well meaning Muslims were turned to the fire of their nafs - to Mu'awiyya, the Khawarij, and the Umayyads all the way to the Salafi/Wahabi acts of terror perpetrated against our own Muslim brethren and sistren, Shaiytan has throughout these centuries elected his emissaries of kufr to wage internal war within the Ummah to degrade it and pervert the Qur'an to say what their itching ears want to hear.
Shi'a Islam - the Only Islam that Allah or Hu's Messengers ever spoke of - takes the Path of Truth, the Path that sometimes brings us face to face with the oppressor, and demands that we bring an end to his reign of terror, or we die as Shuhaha (Martyrs/Witnesses) in our attempts. And Allah will bear Witness to the Truth through our shed blood.
For even as the letter "Mim" is as a seed, a single sperm cell, so too through the Seed of Musa (as), Muhammad (sal), Mahdi and Masih shall the blood of the martyrs - from the Righteous Abel (as), to Yahya (as), to Ali (as), to Husayn (as) to the Mujahidun of today and into the reign of Imam Al-Mahdi - be poured over the Seal of the planted Seed of Islam. And in this very generation, we will see the fulfillment of the rule of Imam Al-Mahdi as that Seed breaks forth through the Seal placed over it by Muhammad (sal), and blossoms into a Tree of Life, nourished and fertilized by the blood of those slain in the name of Truth and Justice.
"The history of Islam follows a strange path; a path in which gangsters and ruffians from the Arab, Persian, Turk, Tartar and Mongol dynasties all enjoyed the right to the leadership of the Moslem community and to the Khalifatate of the Prophet of Islam, to the exclusion of the family of the Prophet and the rightful Imams of Islam. And Shi'ism begins with a "No"; a "No" which opposes the path chosen by history, and rebels against history. It rebels against a history which, in the name of the Qur'an, Kings and Caesars, follows the path of ignorance, and in the name of tradition, sacrifices those brought up in the house of the Qur'an and the Traditions!
"Shi'ites do not accept the path chosen by history. They deny the leaders who ruled the muslims throughout history and deceived the majority of the people through their succession to the Prophet, and then by their supposed support of Islam and fight against paganism. Shi'ites turn their backs on the opulent mosques and magnificent palaces of the Khalifats of Islam and turn to the lonely, mud house of Fatima. Shi'ites, who represent the oppressed, justice-seeking class in the Khalifatate system, find in this house whatever and whoever they have been seeking." - Dr. `Ali Shariati, world renowned Sociologist and follower of Shi'a Islam.

Ashura
In the month of Muharram 61 AH (approximately, the 20 of October 680 AD), an event took place in Iraq at a place known as Karbala on the bank of the river Euphrates. A large army which had been mobilized by the Umayyad regime besieged a group of Shi'a numbering less than a hundred and put them under pressure to pay allegiance to the Khalifat of the time and submit to his authority. The small group resisted and a severe battle took place in which they were all killed.
The leader of the small band of men who were martyred in Karbala was Husayn (as), son of Ali bin Abi Talib (as) and grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal), the Seal of the Prophets. Husayn (as) was the son of Fatima (as) the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal) once said regarding his grandson "Husayn is from me and I am from Husayn. May Allah love whoever loves Husayn."

With the passing away of his brother Hasan (as) in 50 AH, Husayn (as) became the leader of the Ahl al-Bayt, and consequently the third Imam of the Muslims. He respected the agreement of peace signed by Hasan (as) and Mu'awiyya, and, despite the urging of his followers, he did not undertake any activity that threatened the peace with the undeserving Mu'awiyya. Rather he continued with the responsibility of looking after the religious needs of the people and was recognized for his knowledge, piety and generosity. An example of the depth of his perception can be seen in his beautiful du'a on the day of Arafat, wherein he begins by explaining the qualities of Allah, saying
"(Oh Allah) How could an argument be given about Your Existence by a being whose total and complete existence is in need of you? When did you ever disappear so that you might need an evidence and logic to lead (the people) towards You? And when did You ever become away and distant so that your signs and effects made the people get in touch with you? Blind be the eye which does not see You (whereas) You are observing him. What did the one who missed You find? And what does the one who finds You lack? Certainly, the one who got pleased and inclined toward other than You, came to nothingness (failed)."
Kaffir Yazid was the son of kaffir Mu'awiyya and grandson of kaffir Abu Sufyan - the arch-enemy of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). Mas'udi writes that Yazid was a pleasure-seeking person, given to drunkenness and filthy living. Small wonder that Husayn's response to Yazid's governor, when asked to pay allegiance to Yazid was, "We are the household of the Prophethood, the source of Messengership, the descending-place of the Angels, through us Allah had began (showering Hu's favours) and with us Hu has perfected (Hu's favours), whereas Yazid is a sinful person, a drunkard, the killer of innocent people and one who openly indulges in sinful acts. A person like me can never pledge allegiance to a person like him..."

Sayyid ibn Ta'us Maqtalu'l Husayn, pp.10-11
The revolution of Husayn (as) was an Islamic movement spearheaded by one of the greatest leaders of Islam. The principles and laws of Islam demanded that Husayn (as) act to warn the Ummah of the evil situation which it was in, and to stand in the way of the deviating ruler. As Husayn (as) himself remarked when he left Madina for the last time, "I am not rising (against Yazid) as an insolent or an arrogant person, or a mischief-monger or tyrant. I have risen (against Yazid) as I seek to reform the Ummah of my grandfather. I wish to bid the good and forbid the evil."

Husayn (as) was warned not to go to Karbala and face kaffir Yazid. Western historians have considered his moved to continue on, in spite of that warning, to be of the gravest political folly. Yet few apart from the Shi'a have recognized the motivation of his actions, and noted the preciseness with which they were carried out. In this is the Message of Ashura
The Message of Ashura
Husayn (as) was killed on the battlefield as he did Sajdah. His head was removed from his body on the plains of Karbala, mounted on a spear, and paraded through villages and towns as it was taken to Damascus and presented at the feet of Yazid. To the kaffirun he looked, and looks, like a fool. This is because to the temporal-minded man his actions of self-less devotion to the cause of Allah seem fruitless since he gained nothing physically, and lost everything of this world on account of devotion and service to Allah.
However, it is more than abundantly clear that Husayn (as) was aware of the dangers that he would certainly encounter in Karbala. Clearly Husayn (as) had in mind a certain strategy to bring about a revolution in the consciousness of the Ummah. It is clear that Husayn did not try to organize military support, nor to even fully exploit the military strength which was already available to him. In fact he specifically asked his supporters to abandon him as he headed for Kufa.
All of Imam Husayn's (as) actions demonstrate that he was fully aware of the reality that mere military conquests are temporal victories that do nothing to change the hearts or consciousness of mankind. In time another power will be mustered of greater strength and it will topple the empire before it. Truthfully, in the rising and falling of nations are many signs for those who reflect.
If Husayn (as) would have accepted the iniquitous manner of Yazid's lifestyle then this would not merely have been an acceptance of values and norms contrary to the Din of Islam, it would have detrimentally impacted the Ummah for all time to come. Yazid's manner of living would have come to prevail and be accepted by Muslims who would have thusly reverted to the wickedness of those who Muhammad (sal) came to and reformed. It would have, in short, undone what Muhammad (sal) and the Imams before Husayn (as) had done.
Husayn (as) was no ordinary man. Like the other Imams and the 14 Infalibles, he was endowed with a perception clearer than those not of his station. An average man would have turned away when warned. He would not have risked being killed in the manner that Husayn (as) was killed. At the very least, even if the man were a courageous man, he would have taken the advice of his uncle Ibn Abbas and left his family and newborn child behind. Yet Imam Husayn's (as) vision was clear and he strove onward with his family accompanying him.
Aware of the nature of the tyrannical kaffirun pitted against him, Husayn (as) knew that upon his own martyrdom, his family would be captured and taken as prisoners of war, from Kufa to Damascus. This caravan of Muhammad's (sal) own flesh and blood in captivity would publicize the message of Husayn's (as) martyrdom, and ultimately of the path to Hell which the Ummah was being led down by the Umayyads.
Just as Imam Husayn knew, these things came to pass. As he begged the infidels to spare his infant son, and to permit his son some water to drink (as both women and children among Husayn's people were being deprived of such resources by the Umayyads), these demons shot an arrow through the throat of his son, the great grandchild of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). Husan (as) fought diligently against this horde of devils, but his strength and perseverance was overcome by the shear mass of them. Eventually he was dealt a final blow, and decapitated along with the others among him. Their heads were then placed upon spears and paraded in a procession as the oppressors returned from their battle.
Among the captives taken were Zaynab (as) the sister of Husayn (as) and Ali ibn Husayn (as), the only surviving son of Imam Husayn (as). As prisoners of war, they were taunted and were it not for Zaynab (as) who protected the young Ali ibn Husyan (as), then Ali (as) too would have been killed then and there. As it was, the head of Husayn (as) was struck on the lips with the cane of Ubaydu'llah. Some of those witnessing the scene were intensely moved by this disrespect and satanic moral indifference. One is recorded as speaking up to say "Remove your cane from those lips, for, by Allah, many times have I seen the lips of the Prophet of Allah on those lips."

Al-Mufid, Al-Irshad, pp. 227-8 (Tr. Pp. 364-5) Also quoted in Majlisi, Bihar al Anwar, Vol. 45, p. 116. Some Shi'a histories have a similar episode occurring when the head of Husayn reaches Damascus and is hit by Yazid.
Just how badly the Ummah would have been effected if Imam Husayn (as) had not made this momentous sacrifice is difficult for one to gauge. For the very simple fact that his efforts were ultimately successful, we can only know that the Ummah would have deteriorated and become rotten with corruption far sooner than had. As it is, the Prophet Muhammad (sal) has told us that Islam would deteriorate after the 12 Imams, and specifically would resemble Islam in name only by this current era.
For example, in Sahih Muslim, Jabir says, "I heard the Prophet say, 'Islam will always be dear until twelve Khalifatun and successors." Then he said something which I did not understand. I asked my father and he said, 'The Prophet said, "They are all from the Quraysh."

Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-amanah, bab al-mal tih 'l-quraysh
"There Apostle of Allah said "There will come a time for my people when there will remain nothing of the Qur'an except its outward from and nothing of Islam except its name and they will call themselves by this name even though they are the people furthest from it. Their mosques will be full of people but they will be empty of right guidance. The religious leaders (furqaha) of that day will be the most evil religious leaders under the heavens; sedition and dissension will go out from them and to them will it return." - The Prophet Muhammad (sal)

Remembrance of Ashura
Imam Husayn (as) is regarded as "chief of the martyrs." There is no doubt that the tragedy of Karbala, was a criminal and satanic act on behalf of the murderers. However when we reflect upon the nature and action taken by Imam Husayn (as) at Karbala, then we realize that he represents a conscious confrontation and a courageous resistance for righteousness, for Truth and Justice. The whole Ummah had failed to stand up to kaffir Yazid. They had succumbed to his will, and deviation and regression towards the pre-Islamic ways of Arabia were increasing.
Inaction in this situation would have meant the end of Islam. Thus Husayn (as) took upon himself the responsibility of the whole Ummah. The greatest tragedy of Ashura is that one who stood up for the noblest of causes, the defense of Islam, was cut down in so cruel a manner. It is for this reason that the sacrifice of Husayn (as) is commemorated annually throughout the Muslim world on Ashura. For all Shi'as this is, without a doubt, a time of mourning. Allama Iqbal says in his Baqiyat
"I am one who weeps at the plight of the Martyr of Karbala. Won't the reward be given to me by the Keeper of Kauser?" - Imam Ali (as)
The commemoration of Ashura on the 10th of Muharram every year serves to remind us of the sacrifices of the Ahl al-Bayt, but as well, to remind us of those who stood by and did nothing as the ways of kufr continuously encroached upon the path that was paved by the Prophets and Imams before their day.
Many spend the time of Ashura in a state of weeping and inflicting injuries upon themselves, as an act of empathy with the wounds of Imam Husayn (as). But this is not the nature of Islam. Islam is a revolution. There is no need to weep for the dead who have passed on from the oppressions of this world. The tears that we should shed are that some, even most, stood idly by as these atrocities were carried out. Even today, so many Muslims are oppressed throughout the world and next to no one intervenes through taking DIRECT ACTION against the oppressive forces.
"Shi'ites take their slogans from the embodiment of the tribulations and hopes of the masses of the oppressed. Aware of the rulers, and in rebellion against them, they cry out-
'Seek the leadership of Ali and flee from the leadership of cruelty.
'Choose Imamate, and stamp 'cancelled,' 'disbelief' and 'dispossession' upon the forehead of the Khalifatate.
'Choose justice, and overthrow the system of paradox and discrimination in ownership.'" - Dr. `Ali Shariati
Notes
Taken from the book "Red Shi'ism vs.Black Shi'ism"
Shi'a Islam is characterized, if by nothing else, by the fact that we as Shi'a do not hold that the majority is incapable of going astray. Even if there was only one single believer upon the face of the Earth, and the rest of the masses were kaffirun masquerading as Muslims, then Shi'a Islam holds that this one individual would alone be following true Islam.
It is this revolutionary notion that endangers the status quo. This is a status quo of both western forces of Ad-Dajjal, and also of so-called "Islamic" complicity. This is not a difficult reality for the Shi'a of Islam to see in the face of masjid after masjid being erected at the hands of Wahabi and Salafi kaffirun. The kaffirun seek complicity. Islam is the primary target of Ad-Dajjal, not only because it is the Truth, but also because it is an active revolutionary Truth, that will not back down or cower in the face of oppression and global deceit. Islam is the enemy of Ad-Dajjal because so many within it extol the virtues embodied and promulgated by the Holy Imam Husayn (as).
In the face of so much oppression of Muslims and non-Muslims alike, in the face of liars and infidels in the seats of ruling power of the Ummah, in the face of lies, slandering, and blasphemies against the Ahl al-Bayt and their Shi'a, in the face of the fulfillment of Prophecies relating to the era of ad-Dajjal's reign and the immanence of Al-Mahdi's Rise, so many Shi'a brethren and sistren are still content with the "black Shi'aism" of excessive mourning, and of inflicting injury upon themselves and their children! This is madness! Ashura is a time of mourning, and more importantly a time of mobilization against the ruling oppressive powers of the global empire of Dajjal. Ashura is a time of "Red Shi'aism," the Shi'aism of the martyrs! Ashura is a time when we should make certain that we are among those who take a stand and fight along with the Imams. For the day of the Imam's Rise is only as far away as we allow it to be.
"If our Shias would be firm on their promises wholeheartedly, our meeting would not be delayed". - Imam Al-Mahdi (as)
"Sahl Ibn al-Hasan al-Khurasani who was one of the followers of Ahlul- Bayt in Khurasan (a province in Iran) came to Medina to meet Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as). Sahl al-Khurasani said "O son of the Messenger of Allah! You are of the Imams of Ahlul-Bayt. What prevents you from getting your right (i.e., the rule) while you find more than one hundred thousand Shi'a who are ready to fight for you?" The Imam (as) asked him to sit down, and then ordered to turn on the oven that was in the house. After the oven became very hot and turned red, the Imam (as) said "O Khurasani step into the oven and sit in it." The Khurasani said "My master, O son of the Messenger of Allah! Do not punish me by fire and make it easy for me." At this time, Harun al- Makki (ra) entered the room, and after the greetings exchanged, the Imam (as) told him to put down his shoes and to sit down inside the oven. He did so and the Imam (as) started talking to Sahl about Khurasan as if nothing has happened. After some time, the Imam (as) said "O Khurasani stand up and look inside the oven." Sahl looked into the oven and saw Harun sitting cross-legged inside the fire. Then Imam al-Sadiq (as) asked Harun to come out of oven and he came out healthy with no burn or injury. At this time, the Imam (as) asked Sahl "How many individuals do you know in Khurasan like this man?" Sahl replied "By Allah, not even one." The Imam (as) confirmed his saying and said, "We do not rise at this time when we do not even have five helpers (like him). We know better about the proper time."
Notes
al- Bihar, v47, p123, Hadith #172; also in Manaqib by Ibn Shahr Ashub
Even in Imam Sadiq's (as) day there were not even 5 of such Shi'a which we necessary for his Rise. The Ahl al-Bayt tell us that for Imam Al-Mahdi to Rise there must be 313 of such Shi'a. This is a fundamental necessity. We, Brothers and Sisters, are all that is delaying the return of Al-Mahdi. So let us gather our senses and our numbers. Let us reflect upon the meaning of Ashura, and let us finally stand up and wage this Jihad al-Akbar. Instead of cutting our own flesh on Ashura, let us cut the flesh of the wicked. Instead of beating ourselves, let us come together and beat those tyrants who murder without facing consequences of their actions in this world. And let us know, that like the Holy Imam Husayn (as) before us, if we are caught in this Jihad then we will fight until we can fight no more, and when we die we will die a glorious death that took with it the strongholds of iniquity in this world, and secured our reward in Paradise.
"Remember Ashura, to humiliate the ruling group who call themselves the inheritors of the traditions of the Prophet, for the remembrance of it will prove that they are the inheritors of the killers and murderers of the Prophet's family. It will show you a path of action, and provide an answer to the recurring question "What should be done?". It will help you to decide on the best agenda for the struggle against the rule of tyranny. It will avoid allegiance to cruelty. It will provide a pattern for the unbroken continuity of history. It will declare an unending struggle between the inheritors of Adam and the inheritors of the devil. Ashura reminds us of the teaching of the eternal fact that the present version of Islam (in1972), is a criminal Islam in the dress of tradition, and that the real Islam is the hidden Islam, hidden in the red cloak of martyrdom." - Dr. `Ali Shariati

Forgiving Those Who Trespass
By Abu Jamaal
"...By the soul and (by) Hu that made it perfect, and then inspired it to understand what is wrong and what is right for it. Truly is successful the one who purifies (his soul)." Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 91 7-9
Oh brothers and sisters, ikhwah and akhawaat, in our efforts to wage the inward Jihad against the nafs, against the inner-Shaiytan, we must be ever-increasing in our forthrightness and honesty with one another. If we are to view things as they truly are, then we must tear down this mask of dualism and see beyond the illusion of "selfhood," of "you" and "i." First and foremost this means being honest and introspective with ourselves; seeking out, finding and destroying the faults within our"selves." But secondly it calls for forthrightness and honesty with our brothers when they manifest things which we perceive as problematic (whether these things are actual sins, or merely misunderstandings or the like). If we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, then we must truly know that our neighbors ARE our true selves, and that there is no difference or separation between them. Thus, in whatever we do, whether delivering kind words to our neighbors, encouraging them, or denouncing them when we see them to be in error, it must stem ultimately from our love for one another.
Much is said in the Ummah today about aadaab and akhlaaq; about manners and morality. But what is today practiced of manners and morality? When one is practicing Akhlaaq, then they are engaging in an act of co-creation, wherein the thoughts within the Construct of Allah's Divine Mind are engaged to create (khalaq), through moral (khulqee) behavior. Such acts are in and of themselves creative (khaaliq), acts of the Creator within the Construct of Hu's Mind, THROUGH Hu's thoughts. For how else is a Mind's Construct to come into perpetual existence but through thought?
Nevertheless, people today will tell you that morality is subjective, and Akhlaaq is delegated to a sort of sociological moral consensus. For to be sure, in some cases one thing is moral and in another case it is immoral. How do you say "Anger" for example is "Moral" or "Immoral?" There are things to be angry about and things not to be angry about. Similarly, aadaab, or manners is delegated to the sort of Southern Belle mannerisms "Put your fork here when you sit at the table and your napkin here; say 'excuse me' after you belch, and always hold the door for ladies." This is not what aadaab is dealing with. For in such Southern societies, etiquette is considered a virtue, but backbiting and gossip are traditional mainstays. The same Southern families which would hold "etiquette" in such high regard would also ruthlessly beat slaves working in their plantations. The same who would consider etiquette so essential would treat `asabiyyah, racism, nationalism, and tribalism as though it were normal and acceptable.
Similarly in the Ummah today, people will be afflicted with all kinds of spiritual diseases of the qalb or heart and yet on the surface will appear clean and well-mannered. This is not aadaab. This is two-facedness (thunaa'iyyatu-l-wajh). Yet today so many will treat others with respect to their faces and then behind their backs they will tear them apart, and arouse suspicion against them. Brothers and sisters, this is not aadaab, this is the worst kind of backbiting or "gheebah," and we are commanded in the Qur'aan
to disengage from it.
Disengaging from gheebah does not mean that you merely pretend in your hearts to not be partaking in gheebah, when your actions amount to the same. When someone says to you about your brother, "So and so has done this or that" and you do not renounce him for speaking in SECRET, with his words and intentions in ghaybah, then you are in fact partaking in this backbiting, this gheebah.
It is written in the Qur'aan al-Kareem "...Nor backbite one another; would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would abhor it." Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 4912
Muhammad has also said "Exaggerating and gossiping about the Muslim is as sinful as the highest levels of riba (usury)."
Al-Hurr al-Amili, Wasa'il al-Shiah, vol. 8, hadith #16336
When you listen and you say nothing then you are not enjoining the good and forbidding from evil; two branches of our Din. When you do not do these things you are no better than one who has not fasted nor made Salaat. Do you think you will be looked upon as flawless as you take yourselves to be?
Prophet Muhammad once said to Imaam Aliyy "O Aliyy! When someone hears the backbiting of his Muslim brother committed in his presence, yet he does not rally to his assistance despite being capable of doing so, Allah shall humiliate him in the world and in the Hereafter."
Al-Hurr al-Amili, Wasa'il al-Shiah, vol. 8, hadith #16336
When someone says "So and so has done this or that," and you reply as though you are considering these words in the least bit, then your sin is increased. You are like a judge who allows a prosecutor to come before him in his courtroom and present nothing other than hearsay, and on the basis of this you condemn a man. Such a judge is a clear oppressor, and the consequence of such actions is clear oppression and the violation of your brother's spiritual rights.
To the contrary, no righteous Judge would ever accept such hearsay. He would require proof. The prosecutor would approach the judge and say "So and so has done this and that." The defense attorney would then stand and raise the objection that this is merely hearsay. The Qur'aan tells us the same when we are told to "Bring proof if you are truthful." If a man comes to you with proof of what your brother has done, and this is necessary for you to know for your safety, for the safety of others, or for any similarly essential matter, then you are to take this as any court would as evidence. You are then to confront your brother on this matter, providing the evidence against him, not hearsay. A Mu'min does not waste his brothers time with hearsay, for if he does, and if everyone else which the diseased of heart spread their hearsay to do the same, then what is this brother to do but spend every waking hour responding to hearsay and backbiting? Of course not!
Imagine if every time you went out of your home you were accosted by people accusing you of a crime. Imagine if ever step you took there was a Police Officer telling you that you had trespassed on someone's property, that you had been drunk and disorderly, that you had committed rape, arson, kidnapping, murder, whatever he could muster? You would have no doubts that this was a corrupt Police Officer, and a clear oppressor. So too are you oppressors of one an other when you act in the same way.
The sixth Imaam Ja`far as-Sadiq narrated from the Prophet Muhammad who said "O you who have embraced Islam with your tongues but in whose hearts faith has not yet entered, do not disparage Muslims and do not seek their defects. Verily, Allah will seek out the defects of he who is after their defects; and one who has Allah after his defects will be humiliated, even in his own abode."
Usul al-Kafi, vol. 2, "Kitab al-Iman wa al-Kufr," "Bab man talaba 'atharat al-Mu'minin", hadith no. 2
If we seek the defects of others then we are like that corrupt Police Officer, following people around town, harassing them, telling them that we have heard this or that from a "reliable source." Brothers and Sisters, we all have seen such things happen many times in cases of Police corruption. We all know that these so-called "reliable sources" are most often criminals themselves who are trying to get out of trouble for their own crimes by implicating those whom they know and care nothing about. This is no secret.
On the contrary, `Iysaa al-Masih, Jesus Christ, the Rooh'ullah, the Spirit of Allah, has instructed us in the way that we are to approach our brother when real evidence is given against him.
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the congregation; and if he refuses to listen even to the congregation, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector." Matthew 1815-17
So if you are not doing these things when evidence is presented, even if the evidence seems to be proof, then you are backbiting your brother, because the nature of gheebah is that it is hidden, that it is ghaybah. The nature of gheebah is to conceal and hide what is being said about the other, and for this reason it is translated as "back" biting, because according to the Book of Allah, you are biting your brother, you are eating his flesh from behind his back, from a hidden, secret place where he is not present, and is not able to respond.
To even speak your brother's name in such a disparaging way, or to allow him to be spoken of in such a way is tantamount to the same thing. If you reply, "Oh my!" or "I never knew this about him!" or "I would have never thought!" Then you are not only guilty of gheebah, but you are guilty of riyaa', of false piety, of false virtuousness. You are like the P'rushim, the Pharisees of the days of Yahyaa, Iysaa and the Hawaariyyoon who stood on the street corners loudly proclaiming their wordy and worthless prayers and 'adiyyah, as though they were reciting the vain repetitions of Battus, and yet inside your qulub, your hearts are filled with a rotten disease.
Of such individuals the Qur'aan tells us "When they stand up to prayer they stand up sluggishly; they do it only to be seen of men and do not remember Allah except a little." Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 4142
This does not mean that when such people stand for Salaah that they merely stand sluggishly of body, but rather of SPIRIT. If they merely stood sluggishly of body then we would all see this and would have no wonder about their niyyah, their intentions to only be seen by men performing what is expected of them. No! Rather they are those who stand sluggish of spirit; doing so to be seen by men, and not to Remember Allah. Such things are false piety, not righteousness, and will not be added unto you. Such muraa'oon are white washed tombs; pure and clean on the outside, yet inside decaying and dead.
Imaam Ja`faru-s-Saadiq said "Riya in any of its forms amounts to shirk, (polytheism); verily, one who works for the people, his reward lies with them, and one who works for Allah, his reward lies with Allah."
Usul al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 402
You may say to yourself in your heart, "How does riyaa' amount to shirk?" It amounts to shirk because it is the deification of the self, the nafs. It amounts to shirk in the same way that we are told that whosoever does not believe in freewill is a kafir and whosoever does not believe in Destiny is a mushrik. For if "you" do not believe in freewill then "you" have not submitted your"self" to belief, or Iman. Furthermore, if "you" do not believe in Destiny, then "you" believe that "you" are in charge of your fate, and this sets you up as a lord other than Allah; and thus you are a mushrik. In the same way, riyaa' deifies the self and sets it up as a lord other than Allah.
`Iysaa al-Masih said to his disciples "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin."
Yes brothers and sisters, it would be better for you to be dead and discontinue living and attempting any further battle with your ego-self, or any further works than to be the one through whom sin is manifest, as such are already dead on the inside, but clean on the outside. And still, we know that the Book of Allah tells us that "Allah is Hu that brings the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living." For we know that the nature of living is to be in a world of trial and fitnah. There is no escaping that. The Qur'aan tells us that our very families, our very children are a fitnah to us, and yet are these not the things which we love and will die to protect?
We spend money, we pay facilities to go and lift weights this way and that, heavy weights which tear down our muscle fibers, destroying and rebuilding back stronger. We pay for this fitnah, because while we know that it is a difficulty, the end result with be enhanced strength.
Oh brothers and sisters! Do you think for one minute that Allah ta`aala is unaware of this? Do you think that this was not part of the design of the very fabric of Nature itself? Do you think that it was by mistake that the Qur'aan tells us that the Malakayn Haroot and Maroot descended from the sky to ancient Babylon? Was it a mistake that there they tried and tested the people with their "fitnah" of exposing the Babylonians to a science that they were told to respect but not partake in; just as a child may be in a room illuminated by an electric light, but he is told to at no time touch the electrical socket, let alone get a screwdriver and remove the faceplate from the wall, and tinker around with the wiring? No! Rather, the nature of fitnah is to expose those disobedient children who go and do what their Guardians have instructed them not to do. They are then undone by their own disobedience, either being destroyed by it, or condemned to judgment by it.
Imaam Ja`faru-s-Saadiq said, "Allah is very forgiving. Allah says, whatever trouble, problem, or crisis you confront with in your daily life, is always because of your deeds, or actions and Allah always intends to forgive your sins. If someone has even minor pain in head or mild sickness, Allah forgives some sin against such trouble's. So trouble, problem, or crisis are blessing in disguise for Mu'mineen."
Usul al-Kafi Vol. 4
So we know that when fitnah afflicts us, it is Allah trying to purify us and purify our ranks. We know that there is no fitnah which does not cause pain and trial, for this is the very meaning of the word. We know that Gold is refined by fire. We know that wheat must be caste to the threshing floor and that in days of old the chaff was separated by trampling. Fitnah is never a pretty thing, but it is a reality of life, and an integral tool of the Construct of the Divine Mind in which we all find our"selves." A weightlifter never looks pretty when he is struggling to lift a heavy weight. The veins in his neck and arms will bulge out, he will grunt and groan and perspire. After a while he will stink and will have to go take a shower to cleanse himself of the stench of the fitnah. If he does not do these things then he is not likely lifting a very heavy weight and he will not grow much stronger.
If Allah seeks to strengthen us, then Allah will expose us to fitnah. If Allah seeks to purify our ranks then Allah will expose our ranks to fitnah, like Hu has done with every Movement for Social Justice and the like in the past 50 years. Many of these groups were either neutralized or rendered incapacitated, neutered, by the result of such fitnah. There did not need to be any face to face battle. Instead the Shaytaan has done the job that no counter intelligence operation could have done half as well and those who had claimed to be committed to the Struggle, allowed the Shaytaan to do it through them.
O Brothers and Sisters, this is not a call to castrate your emotions, for we know that many of the Divine Names of Allah are themselves emotional in nature. While we are told by Muhammad to abandon our anger, we know as well that the A'mmah foretold a Jayshu-l-Ghadab, an Army of Anger, which would unite and rise to sweep away all injustice, and avarice, all things which displease Allah. This is the nature of the aarif though; one who is angered by only that which angers Allah, in things small and great, and does not get angered by pettiness. This does not mean that if we are urafaa' then we will never anger others. As we walk down the street we step on tiny insects which we will never see or be aware of. It is an easy thing to offend others, and thus we must just as easily be patient and forgiving of others, as we would want them to be with us.
The true `aarif, a true Mu'min, can be called any number of names and not grow angry at the names he is called, for these are only words, but will instead grow angry at the attempts by the slanderer to mislead others and entangle them within the web of fitnah. This is the true meaning of loving and hating for the sake of Allah; al-Walaa' wa-l-Baraa'. This does not just mean that we love and hate FOR Allah, but that our Love and Hatred flows from a Divine Source, and is not rooted in the pettiness of personal offense and nafs, but is a principled response.
Imaam Ja`faru-s-Saadiq said "A mu'min (believer) is the person who when angered, his anger doesnt lead him away from that which is true..."
Usul al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 186, hadith #11
Thus, we know that it is not the anger itself which is a sin, but when that anger leads to insanity, as Imaam `Aliyy said, then it trespasses beyond the bounds of the permissible and the good, the halaal and the tayyib. Then just as eating the flesh of a human being is haraam for us, from behind our brothers back we bite at him and devour his flesh like vampires. The Mu'min will experience anger, but this anger will be provoked by transgression against Divine Principles. It will not come from trivial things or pettiness. It will not come from envy or hasad, of what is possessed by your brother, be it possessions in this construct of Dunyaa, be it authority, power, strength, or any other thing. It will not come from enmity or resentment. This is not the ghadab of the Mu'minoon. The Mu'minoon are instead vessels that are poured out of their nufoos. But when a vessel is poured out, there is still residual taste from what was therein before. If you pour in something else thereafter then it will be tainted. Thus, these vessels must be cleansed many times over by Allah, if Hu is to fill these vessels with the pure, unbridled Spirit, or Rooh. Only then can the purity of Allah's Love and Allah's Hatred, manifest on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Focusing On Nothing
By Aboo Jamaal
"Has not the time yet come for those who believe that their hearts should be submissive when remembering Allah and what has come down of the Truth?" Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 5716
In this modern age the Mu'minoon have seen a fulfillment of signs and prophecies with exponential acceleration and unfolding. With any such signs come great expectations from those who see them. With this comes increasing speculation on "what will come next." Each culture and religious tradition holds their own expectations of prophets and figures from the past who will return to usher in an era of peace and Messianic Consciousness.
No matter what cultural or religious tradition, the outcome is relatively the same Jews in many cases living in hypocrisy and opulence, whilst setting a place at the table for Ilyas, Christians in many cases living in hypocrisy, yet praying for the return of Christ (who they imagine will warmly embrace them), to magically wisp them away into the clouds to their "home in the sky," Muslimoon also living in hypocrisy in many cases, and inaction in the face of brutality and injustice facing their brothers and sisters. Instead of rising to the defense of the oppressed, of the raped, of the tortured and murdered (at the hands of both their own regimes and others), they raise their arms to the sky and wail for the return of the Mahdiy to save them from the oppressors; a job which we are ALL charged with. As it is written in the Book of Allah
"Fighting is prescribed upon you, and you dislike it. And it may happen that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. And Allah knows and you know not." Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 2216
In Truth, all any of us know there are lots of lesser "A'mmah" - like Imaam Khumayniy, like Moosaa-s-Sadr, like so many who have come and gone before - and the 12th Imaam is guiding from the Realm of Hurqaliyyah, from the Barzakh; manifesting his actions in accordance with the Will of Allah THROUGH these lesser "a'mmah." So people are not the focus, for we see the Imaam through peoples actions. Thus, because we see the Mahdiy and the Maseeh through peoples actions we do not need to worry about how Allah chooses to manifest them to fulfill prophecy. We are told time and time again through Ahadeeth that various A'mmah were charged with the mission of rising to political power, of BEING the Imaam al-Qaa'im, but because of certain occurrences in accordance with freewill, on the behalf of their disciples, this did not happen in their life time. Many of their disciples undoubtedly got discouraged and lost faith, falling away like chaff. This proved an indication of their motivation in the first place. They were originally so committed to their Imaam because they believed that "their" expectations would be met shortly. Their intentions, while pure in some regards, were tainted by the rijs of the nafs. Once hope was lost for immediate victory, then their commitment staggered.
Similarly, with regards to the followers of Imaam al-Husayn, when he faced certain PHYSICAL defeat (yet spiritual victory) on the battlefield of Karbalaa', so many fell away and refused to join him. Only 72 true Mystic Warriors (Mujaahideena Aarifeen), remained true to the Struggle and faced the enemy head on no matter what. These were the true urafa, these who were not disillusioned with promises of easy victory within their immediate grasps. Instead, they focused on the long term spiritual vision (shuhood) for victory, and because of this they saved the core of Islaam to be passed down and remembered for generations to come.
To focus on the short term hypothetical victory, to focus on those who you believe or expect will be able to offer you this short term victory on a silver-platter, is the height of istidraaj. To focus on these things makes us focus on that which is not important if we are truly doing what we need to do. Such things primarily becomes important, even central, to people when they cannot make up there minds whether to choose action or inaction, resistance or complicity "Should i join this group or should i just sit at home chatting online, or going to the masjid and never getting involved in the local or global community to bring about the conditions that are necessary for the Rise to take place? If this individual leading it is so and so, then i will join. If not then i will not." Their action becomes contingent upon their speculation and their hopes and desires to see prophecy fulfilled through the people they see the Mahdiy and Maseeh working through. But this is Istidraaj and that is why they cannot decide to join and work together without having their short sighted speculations confirmed.
To the Palestinians, to the Iraqis, to the Chechens, to the people in the barrios, ghettos, refugee camps and shanty towns, no one cares who the Mahdiy is or Maseeh is. This is simply not part of their reality; they cannot afford for it to be. Suffering and poverty is their reality and it is a product of comfort that affords people the luxury of speculating on the identity of people who they do not need to worry about, as this is in Allah's hands. The Hadeeth tells us that when our Imaam disappears from sight, then expect relief to come from beneath our own feet. That is all we need to focus on relief, faraj. The masses speak of faraj coming in their 'ad`iyyah through the Imaam but we are not to expect this. We are told by the tenth Imaam al-Haadiy to expect faraj to come from beneath our own feet, not from beneath his.
"If your Imaam goes into occultation, expect freedom from grief (to come from) beneath your feet."
Bihaaru-l-'Anwaar, 51, p. 161
It is istidraaj for people to fixate on an individual and to try to correlate them with their expectations. For ultimately we are to fixate on Nothing, and the Mahdiy, `Iysaa or anyone else is equally nothing as much nothing as the computer which this is being typed on or whatever "you" think you are looking at this on. Thus, to focus on any of these things as "real" or important in and of themselves is the epitome of distraction.
Even in the case of Aayatullaah Khumayniy there were people who suspected that he was the Mahdiy. Many will virtually attack you if you don't call him "Imaam" thought it is an acknowledged reality that he was only a lesser imaam, an Imaam of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. But what he was or wasn't is not the point. What people saw was the Primordial Imaam manifesting through his ACTIONS, and for that reason, speculation emerged regarding his identity. Regardless of this, he should not be the focus for the true `Urafa. For them, it is the Truth manifest THROUGH him that should be the focus ALONE. That was the focus of both his teachings and his actions in a regional manifestation of the Eternal Revolution of the Mahdiy.
To the `Urafa the objective is to be aware of "our" Existence as Nothing. It is not to "become Nothing" as we are already Nothing regardless of whether we are awakened to this realization (tahaqquq), or asleep within the illusion of duality. Our objective and only desire is to stop this charade of "self-hood;" to stop pretending that "you" or "i" am anyone. This is what our focus has to be, not because it is "our" desire of the nufoos, but because it is THE WILL OF ALLAH alone, and for that reason the desire is pure and stems from the Divine.
This realization is the objective. Neither the Mahdiy nor `Iysaa can force this upon us. They cannot force our eyes open. For when one is slumbering in a deep sleep and someone turns on the light, this light, this noor is blinding due to the suddenness of it. The sleeper will shut his eyes tighter than ever, or cover his head with a pillow. He will not gain any more interest in waking up, getting up and living. He will still want to sleep and he will do whatever it takes to block out the Nooru-l-Haqeeqah, the Light of Reality, that is being shined upon him.
The Light on its own will not suffice to wake someone up if they are sleeping within darkness. For although Aayatu-l-Kursiy tells us that the Truth is MANIFEST from falsehood, there are still plenty who refuse to see this clear manifestation. No, rather the Light will have to permeate the entire region until the very particles of the sleepers body are energized, with his testosterone rising with the sun itself, causing his internal circadian rhythms to provoke his awakening, naturally and in accordance with the Way. This will not need to be forced, it will happen as a matter of Nature. When we tire we sleep. When we are rested and ready, we awaken. If we awaken prematurely then it is not true awakeness, but sluggish, drunkenness of mind. We are told not to approach Salaah in such a manner, for this very reason.
If one awakens in sluggish drunkenness then their awakeness will be short lived. They will seem awake for a while, but then will return to sleep as a matter of the course of Nature; for they were never truly awake. It is for this reason that the eleventh Imaam al-`Askariy is reported to have said "When the hearts are active, confide in them; and when they are reluctant, bid them farewell."
Brothers and sisters, this Revolution is not a revolution of guns, knives and bombs, but guns, knives and bombs will be found in any modern battle. The weapons employed are incidental to our Revolution. We are not a Revolution of the gun. The gun is a tool. If you want to eat food that has been sealed within a can, do you focus on the can opener? If you want the milk from a coconut, do you focus on the hammer or blade with which you open it? Of course not, because these things are incidental.
Our Revolution is the Revolution of the Mind, the Evolution of the perfected human being, the insaan al-kamil; an evolution to unending awakenness. This Revolution will not be won in 7 years, nor in 9 years, nor in 19 years, nor in 40 years, nor in 309 years. This Revolution is a perpetual journey that is unrelated to individual manifestations of that Revolution in the course of battle with the forces of evil, both internal and external.
When a murderer charges towards us with a gun or a knife to kill or harm us or someone else, we do not seek to kill him, we seek to STOP him. The means which we use are the means that are necessary to stop him. If that requires merely shouting to him authoritatively then al-hamdulillah, so be it. If that requires fighting him or shooting him, then al-hamdulillah, so be it. The objective, however, is not to focus on the means. The objective is what is the focus at hand. The objective in such a case, is to STOP him. If he stops after an authoritative shout, then so do you. You do not then fight or kill him. If you are forced to punch or kick this man and he falls down, then you have stopped him. You do not then kick him and kick him and kick him until he is dead or severely injured. Your objective was to stop him by any means necessary. Once he stops, so do you. If you are forced to shoot him, then you shoot him and if after a few shots he stops but is still alive, then you too stop. You do not unload your magazine into his wounded body. What kind of hatred is that to be found within the heart of a Mu'min?
You stopped this man out of love; love for whoever he was going to harm, love for him so that he did not incur the consequences of the actions he intended (and in so doing sink deeper into the torment of Jahannam), and most importantly love for the Will of Allah. Your love which provoked the defense was pure. However, if in that defense you become engrossed in the means, engrossed in the means you are employing to stop the attack, then you have become distracted from the initial Love which caused you to defend so righteously to begin with. May those with eyes to see, see and those with ears to hear, hear the meaning of this. For our Revolution is not a revolution of the means. It is not a revolution of guns, knives and bombs. It is not a revolution of spokesmen and leaders, of A'mmah and shuyookh. Ultimately, it is neither a Revolution of the Mahdiy or `Iysaa. It is a Revolution of awakening to the Roohullah within us ALL; the Rooh which Emmanuel awoke to, and just as Emmanuel awoke to it we ALL need to awaken to it because we are ALL this Rooh. That is the ONLY reality of "Self-hood."
For this reason it is written that on the Day of Judgment (Yawmu-d-Deen), Iysaa will say to those on his right hand, "Come, enter the Kingdom. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was sick and you visited me." Then Iysaa will turn to those on his left hand and say, "Depart from me because I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was thirsty and you did not give me to drink, I was sick and you did not visit me." These will ask him, "When did we see You hungry, or thirsty or sick and did not come to Your help?" And `Iysaa will answer them, "Whatever you neglected to do unto one of these least of these, you neglected to do unto Me!"
Oh brothers and sisters, can this be any more clear? Will you then turn away after Truth has already come to you? These words are not new, but old. What we wish for our brother should be that which we wish for ourselves. For the very least of these are ultimately the same "self" as us ALL; with the same undivided Rooh within them all. To disdain our brother is to disdain our-Self. To harbor a grudge against our brother is to harbor a grudge against our-Self. Our anger should not stem from personal feelings, but from objective Truth. When we know someone has done something wrong, then the wrongness by nature upsets us just the same as an incorrect magnetic combination will repel, just the same as incorrect circuitry will short out and blow a fuse. Our anger is not at a "person" who does not exist, but rather at the actions manifesting through the particular thoughts within the Construct of Allah's Universal Divine Mind. For this reason it is narrated that Zurareh narrated that Imaam al-Baaqir said "The closest thing to become a kafir is to remember your believing brother's with the intention of blaming him in the future."
Mishkaatu-l-'Anwaar fee Ghuraari-l-'Akhbar The Lamp Ninche for the best Traditions Page 262 Hadeeth Number 499
For the closest thing to kufr itself is to harbor such animosity towards your brother when he has sought rectification, and to keep account of his wrongs. Allah is Love itself in its purest form, and as `Iysaa al-Maseeh said, Love keeps no account of wrongs.
It is written that Muhammad prayed "O Allah, show me the things as they are."
Mirsaadu-l-`Ibaad, p. 309
And it is narrated that Imaam Ja'faru-s-Sadiq has said "Live and act as if you can see the hereafter with your own eyes."
Mishkat at ul-Anwar fi Ghurar il-Akhbar Page 282 Hadeeth Number 556
So let us pray that we see things as they truly are. Let us pray that we live and act as though the Akheerah is observable with our own eyes. Let us stop focusing on the means, and focus on the objective, the goal. Let us stop docking our boats at this port and that, tying the boat up, and searching through the town for men who do not exist any more than "we" do, anymore than the boat, dock or water does. Nothing alone is real. There is NO Reality but Allah, La Haqeeqaha-illaa-llah.
Do you not consider the words of `Iysaa al-Maseeh? When his own Hawaariyyoon came to him, one by one, and asked him if he was the foretold Mashiach, what did he say? Did he say "Yes 'I' am?" Did he say "'You' are very smart to realize this, and that is why i called you to this work?" No, of course not.
"Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, 'Who do people say I am?' They replied, 'Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.' 'But what about you?' he asked. 'Who do you say I am?' Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah.' Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him." Mark 827-30
When he miraculously healed the sick through the sciences which the people had little knowledge of, what did he say? Did he say "Tell your friends 'who' did this for 'you'?" Did he say "These are signs of Allah for you to know who 'i' am, so go and tell others?" No, to the contrary, he said "Go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."
The testimony was a testimony of the Truth having changed the lives of those healed; that they not just be healed in body, but healed in soul, transformed in spirit. Through this transformation a testimony would be offered, not of the "identity" of al-Maseeh, but rather of the transformation that Allah, al-Haqq, had in their lives. All the while they were told NOT to focus on, or tell others that they might focus on, the means by which this spiritual transformation had taken place. This is the epitome of humility, and awakeness in the life and actions of the Roohullah 2,000 years ago.
It is because of this realization of the futility of focusing on the non-existent identities of this thought or that within the Construct of the Divine Mind that Yahyaa said the "i am NOT" or "Ani AYN" when asked if he was the return or raja` of the prophet Ilyaas "And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, 'I am Not.'"
This was a double-edge answer. For on one hand he was negating any identification with the nafs as "this" thought or "that" within this realm of Dunyaa, this Universal Construct of the Divine Mind, and at the same time he was affirming his Existence as Nothing alone. This can be our only approach if we are to avoid istidraaj at all costs. This is essential if we truly wish to awaken from the dream. For though Yahyaa denied any such identification of his nafs with "this" figure or "that," it is written thrice that Iysaa claimed Yahyaa was in fact this raja
"For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Eliyahu, which was for to come." Matthew 1113-14
"But I say unto you, That Eliyahu has come already.... then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist." Matthew 1712-13
"But I say unto you, That Eliyahu has indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him." Mark 913
For Sheeah this becomes particularly relevant since the doctrine of raja of certain persons, including those who have physically died in this Thought-Realm of the Dunyaa is considered a part of the Sheeiy aqeedah. Consequently, as certain signs and prophesies are fulfilled at an ever increasing rate, many will become side tracked with the fulfillment of these signs, will dock their boats, enter into port cities and seek to identify the figures which they anticipate.
Miracles and signs are the same thing in Islaam. They are Ayaat. A miracle in Islaam does not denote that the Natural Order has been ripped apart at the seems. It means that we have been given signs, probabilities, and according to the 12 A'mmah, these signs are often themselves subject to the Badaa' of Allah's Will in its natural ebb and flow within the Construct of Allah's Infinite Mind.
Aliy ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ishaaq ibn Muhammad from Aboo Haashim al-Jafariy who has said the following. "I was in the presence of Aboo-l-Hasan after the death of his son, Aboo Jafar. I thought to my self like wanting to say, 'The two; Aboo Jafar and Aboo Muhammad at this time are like Aboo-l-Hasan Moosaa and 'Ismaeel, the sons of Jafar ibn Muhammad.' At such time Aboo-l-Hasan turned to me before I would say anything and said, 'Yes, O Aboo Hashim, Allah applied Badaa' in the case of Aboo Muhammad after Aboo Jafar, a fact that was not known for him. In the same He applied Badaa' in the case of Moosaa after the death of 'Ismaeel as an issue that through which his condition came to light. That is what you thought to yourself. Even though people of falsehood may dislike, Aboo Muhammad, my son will be the succeeding Imaam after me. With him is the knowledge that he will need and with him is the means of Immaamah (Leadership with Divine Authority)."
'Usoolu-l-Kaafiy H 856, Ch. 75, h 10
As freewill exists, so too does Badaa', which is ultimately the Freewill of Allah. Thus, signs are for us to take notice of, but not for us to become distracted by. When we are on a journey there are signs placed to mark the way for us. These signs are to be noticed, but not focused on. If we focus on them while we continue on our journey then we will endanger ourselves and others. We will bend our necks backwards, always focusing on the past, and never the present. Nothing could be more of a hazard.
Similarly, if we are not to wreck then the only other solution is for us to pull off to the side of the road, to look at the sign and then flag down those who are also on their journey, get them to pull over and merely focus on the signs. Brothers and sisters, how then will we continue our journey?
No matter what we see, no matter what happens, our focus is to be on the Infinite Nothingness of the Reality, and the Reality is Allah alone. There is no Reality save Allah. If our focus diverts elsewhere, then we have grown tired and returned to bed to go back to sleep in the dream world of duality and illusion that tells us that "we" are "this" and "that" and seeks to delude us with the insanity of identifying the non-existent with titles and names, coded to fit our cultural and religious expectations.
Imaam al-Mahdiy is NOTHING, Iysaa al-Maseeh is NOTHING, everything that you see is NOTHING, so then focus upon NOTHING and not the illusion of "something." It is only when we do this that we can truly be considered awakened. And when we do this we will realize that it does not matter if Al-Mahdiy or Iysaa EVER return, for "they" never existed in the first place. It is only then that the words of Imaam al-Haadiy will truly be understood by the `Urafa, that "If your Imaam goes into occultation, expect freedom from grief (to come from) beneath your feet."

Bismillah, ir-Rahman ir-Rahim
As-Salaamu `Alaykum, wa-Rahmat'ullahi, wa-Barakatu
Over the years many individual members of the Taliy'ah have experienced routine harassment from Federal and local Law Enforcement, despite the fact that no evidence of our committing any crime nor partaking in any illegal activity whatsoever. From harassment and continuous monitoring back in the late 80's and early 90's to the various arrests of the mid-90's to the warrantless searches and traffic stops when no traffic law had been broken, resulting in backup from several Sheriffs, the harassment was seemingly unending.
However, in recent months this harassment that we had more or less "learned to live with" has been escalated on the behalf of the Federal and local Law Enforcement agencies, with no "escalation" on our behalf in terms of any illegal activity. We continue to operate in a completely legal manner. We continue to merely encourage lawful training for the prophesied Revolution of the Mahdi, which our A'immah (as) have told us is Wajib upon us "even if only by gathering arrows," that is, even if we are unable to do anything besides stockpiling ammunition, then that is what we are obligated to do as Shi'a Muslimeen. We have never at any time said that our War is against any particular nation, and of course, since none of us are claiming to be the Imam al-Mahdi (as), how COULD we claim who the War is against, when HE is our Commander, the ONLY 'Amir al-Mu'mineen of this Age, this Zaman.
No, we do not claim to be the ones who specify the targets. We do not say "Jihad has been waged against this nation or that." Instead we say that Jihad has been declared long ago by the Ma'soomeen (as) against the SYSTEM of the Dajjal, against the Kufr. We have made this perfectly clear in both literature and in music put out by members of our Jamaat. We have never said that "all Americans must die" nor have we said "All police must die" or "violence must be used against Americans or Law Enforcement in general." We have stressed repeatedly that our opposition is against those CORRUPT members of ANY government or division of Law Enforcement. Whether this is in the United States or any other country is of no difference to us. We have condemned ACTIONS of corruption and oppression. We have not said that specific individuals should be targeted. Rather we have said that those who break the laws of the land by oppressing the innocent or those who break international law by oppressing the innocent should be resisted and "Struggled" against.
If we say that "If a corrupt police officer pulls a woman over and tries to rape her then she should resist and force him to stop raping her by any means necessary," then we are not describing nor advocating illegal actions on the woman's behalf. Rather, we are speaking of something that is 100% in ACCORDANCE with the laws of the land of ANY civilized nation AND international law. Individuals, whether they have a position in any nation's government or Law Enforcement have no legal or moral right to violate the basic, God-given, inherent rights of individuals to not be oppressed, in the form of illegal, baseless arrest, imprisonment, rape, violence and murder. Resistance to illegal actions, and avocation of resistance to illegal actions is neither illegal nor immoral. Prior to the Qiyam, the Rise of the Imam al-Mahdi (as), we are FORBIDDEN as Shi'a from rising up on our own, to start an aggressive Uprising to over take any nation unless that nation is systematically directly oppressing us, and impairing our ability to live and practice our Din, our religious "Way" of life.
When we advocate Resistance, we advocate it for those who lived under the illegal torture chambers of Saddam; for those who lived under the Taliban of the Dajjal, who were victims on nearly every level; those who are innocent people killed by ANY regime, or oppressed by any ROGUE elements of Law Enforcement in ANY nation. This is not an illegal statement. This is not an immoral statement. This is not a "terrorist" statement. This is not an advocating of murdering innocent people. This is simply a statement, and affirmation of the basic human right to resist oppression. Because of this and this alone, we have been targeted by the U.S. Government on both the State and Federal level.
Since the past "election" we have seen harassment taken to an outrageous and illegal level in some cases. The first major incident began with brother Abu Jamaal, the author of many of the Jamaat's articles and the recent book "Biogenesis" (in the process of being published as this is being written), being pursued by unmarked cars. This eventually ended with him pursuing one of the vehicles which was chasing him and his family at high speeds through residential areas (up to 85 miles per hour at one point), cornering and confronting the driver who was a well dressed, wealthy Jew, driving an unmarked Saab 900 SE. The man had a partner in the vehicle with him, and when focus was shifted to that person, the man tried to open the side door to brother Abu Jamaal's vehicle where his son was sitting. Abu Jamaal sped off and observed this vehicle parked at a vantage point from his residence for upwards of 3 hours. Shortly after this was the now somewhat well publicized incident of military helicopters following the same brother on two separate occasions while he was out shopping with his wife and children.
In addition to this, the same individual was accused of fleeing the scene of an accident when there was no accident and he had not even driven on the Highway he was accused of being involved in an accident on on the day and time he was accused of this. His vehicle was intact and was unmarked by any signs of accident. He was told that a warrant was being issued for his arrest because of this. However, once the Police were contacted for specifics it turned out that the report stated that not only was there no accident, he was accused of ice flying up from the road and hitting another vehicle (the accuser the Police refuse to identify). Other members of Law Enforcement and Insurance have been contacted saying that this does not in any way fit the criteria for an "accident" and no insurance company would treat this as anything but a road hazard. Of course, only a year before this same individual had been pulled over by three Sheriff cruisers in his own apartment complex for "running a stop sign" in his own complex. He eventually took the officers to court and won. This sort of harassment is illegal and immoral, and is clearly an attempt to suppress the First Amendment, Constitutional rights of speaking out and holding a dissenting opinion.
In addition to this were the now infamous events of harassment towards brother 'Amir Sulaiman, which can be read at http//www.AmirSulaiman.com. Just shortly after this, brother Abu Jamaal also found himself on the FBI's "No-Fly" list, with his family being harassed for no reason other than having spoken out against oppression and advocating resistance to illegal oppression. NOTHING that brother Abu Jamaal has said is illegal, and if it were he would be arrested and charged with a crime. Instead, he found himself in an airport with his children being forced to remove their shoes so that they could be x-rayed even though his pre-school aged son's shoes did not set off any metal detector.
Just last week, a brother from the U.K. Chapter of the Taliy'ah was denied entry into the United States. He was arrested and held in the airport jail during the weekend, after having all of his belongings x-rayed, being questioned about the Taliy'ah and brother Abu Jamaal. He was then sent back to the U.K., literally robbed of his civil rights as a law abiding human being, and also robbed of the cost of his plane ticket.
Stay safe, stay alert and stay strong brothers and sisters. The temperature's rising...
May Allah hasten the end of suffering through the Imam's Rise!

The Vanguard of the Mahdi
"Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong and these it is that shall be successful." Qur'an, Sura 3104
The time has come for an ideology and for a movement, that is both physically and morally strong enough, to do battle against the forces of evil that are destroying the earth, and all life upon it. One that cannot be bought, nor led astray by temptation. A movement free of the vices that sedate the mind and weaken the body. An ideology that is pure and righteous, without contradictions or inconsistencies. One that judges all things by one standard and emphasizes personal responsibility and accountability above all else. An overall view on life that not only deals with the external, but also the internal - realizing that a physical entity of oppression, such as the capitalist system, (where all life is deemed an expendable resource), is merely an outward manifestation of the warped values held by the people who run the institutions that control our lives, influence our culture and destroy the earth.
It must also recognize the intrinsic flaw of single issue causes, where the concept of justice is always a selective one, (with each special interest group fighting for the rights of those that fall under their personal concern, while neglecting, or in some cases, opposing those rights for others) - moving beyond such failed approaches - to a logical and all encompassing system of thought and program of action, which can and will succeed.
This is a movement, and a way of life that lives by one ethic - that all innocent life is sacred, and must have the right to live out it's natural state of existence in peace, without interference. Under these principles, all shall be permitted to do as they please as long as their actions do not harm, in any way, the rights of others. Any action that does interfere with such rights shall not be considered a "right" in itself, and therefore shall not be tolerated. Those who hurt or destroy life around them, or create a situation in which that life or the quality of it is threatened shall from then on no longer be considered innocent, and in turn will no long have rights.
Members of the Taliyah will abide by these principals in daily life. They shall live at one with the Law of Allah and the Shariah of Islam, and not forsake them for the desire of pleasure - from deviant sexual acts and/or abortion, to drug use of any kind, (and all other cases where ones harms all life around them under the pretext that they are just harming themselves). Along with this purity of everyday life, the true Mu'min must strive to liberate the rest of the world from it's chains - saving life in some cases, and in others, dealing out justice to those guilty of destroying it. Only with this dedication, and conviction - living a life that is in harmony with our stated goals and beliefs, gaining strength from our purity of body and mind, while actively opposing those who are guilty destroying the world with their poisonous thoughts, deeds and pollution, can we be victorious in the Struggle.
Instructed by Muhammad (sal) to "search for `Ilm (or "divine knowledge") even if you have to go to china" - we seek edification from ALL sacred scriptures and traditions, and strive to unveil their esoteric Truth and underlying Unity (in an effort to bring about true Gnosis and usher in an era of Messianic Consciousness).
Knowing this cannot come to pass while still locked in the chains of Babylon, we strive for justice and liberation by any means necessary. First, through an inward Jihad of self improvement, and spiritual refinement (manifesting in the moral and economic uplifting of our families, community and nation) and secondly, by waging an outward Jihad against the forces of evil that enslave this earth and make universal spiritual awakening impossible. Only though an effort of the faithful will al-Mahdi rise and only then will al-Masih return.
Come join us in our struggle to purify the heart and mind; to build an Ummah (community) of pure and righteous souls, and to fight against ALL forms of injustice and exploitation.
