A muslim marriage in the light of Quran

Bride and groom must like each other before they get together as husband and wife. Giving away the wedding gifts to the would be wife as much as you can is mandatory in such a way she is secured in life, which Allah instruts as 'Mahr'. Once the Mahr is accepted by the bride to be, she becomes his lawful wife. Allah alone shall be the witness to the union of hearts in this marriage, for only allah knows what you conceal in your breasts and what you openly do. None else needs to know about your marriage according to Quran, Ceremony is absolutely unwarranted. This is Quran.

Between bride and groom only Allah is the witness, if you fear HIM. For the sake of administrative set up, later you can reveal your union accordingly. But this is worldly and out side of Quran.

Hey, I know this is a bit late but I like having verses listed after every thing is said. Can someone please list the verses which helped them come to the conclusion that a marriage does not need to be know publicly? Or how they?ve come to the conclusion on how marriage works.

Not thoughts, just anything physical to do with Islam. Fasting, praying, etc those things will not be allowed. Its probably a situation that would never happen, but there is a person I know who thought that all muslims would go out on the streets and kill indiscriminately if Islam was ever banned, which I thought was just stupid.

What does the Quran define marriage as?

Imagine Islam was banned from a country, including the destruction of all mosques and the banning of all private worship. This would happen for no reason at all. The muslims of the country are being good citizens. I think it (the banning of Islam) would be understandable if the majority of the muslims were being bad citizens and causing chaos (going directly against 060.008 ). What would the Quran say about this? How would you fight back against the aggressors?
