Assalamuallaikum,

Dear All, it has been several months since my friend who named Dhanti introduced me to this web-site.

I believe my friend is the Al-qur'an (only) believer and put a side the Haditz which in my understanding consist of information from Imam in regards to what Mohammad S.A.W said and done in the past.

I'm coming from Indonesia which has a big Moslem population. Most of us at least a lot of people that i know take both Al-qur'an and Haditz. From my point of view they seem take Al-qur'an as the guidance of life and treat Haditz as the supplementary guidance. Perhaps I?m incorrect, however it is interpreted like that by me.

The questions about the genuinely words and act of Mohammad that are told via the various Imams in the Haditz have become a big issue since long time ago. It creates various conflicts among us. Still most of us take both Al-Qur'an and Haditz as the guidance for us to live our life.

When I was a kid i heard a lot of information that some of us declared that they absolutely reject or deny the genuinely even the existence of Haditz/Sunnah. This group of people are called as "Islam Ingkar Sunnah" (ingkar = refuse/deny).

Honestly I never read/studied one of the Haditz directly by myself however since I was a kid, we (I and my sisters and brothers) were provided by our parents with religion tutor (Ustadz) who regularly visited our home to teach us about our Religion with the expectation we will capable in doing our obligation as the Moslem and Muslimah.

The Ustadz verbally told us some of the contents of Haditz which are more or less consist of information on how is Prophet Mohammad saying and doing. So, for me, the tutor was trying to picturize the ideal way in living our life in reflect to the Al-Qur'an by appointing a specific sample which is the ideal sample that can be exist who is the Prophet Mohammad.

I understand that there are various version of Haditz which come from different Imam. Recently i heard from my friend-Dhanti that one of the Haditz of certain Iman saying that Mohammad had said the number of people who could be accepted in the heaven is only 70,000 people. Of course for Dhanti who is Al-Qur'a only believer is something can be laugh at? Even for me it sounds ridiculous.

.....so, i think some contents of haditz are the opposite of the Nature of GOD.......

However, I'm wondering why we can?t still take the Haditz as something that could give a picture to us on how to live our life in reflects to the "Al-Qur'an". Take the Haditz as the reference. Because Prophet Mohammad is the chosen one, the Messenger, the 1st receiver. That logically he has been qualified as a human being who could live his life in reflects to the Firman (Word) of Allah. That the imam (without prejudice) was only became the transfer media to other people. But the main thing is, it become our obligation to regularly to go the Al-Qur'an as the fundamental/parameter.

It's only a thought of mine...
