Salaam to all, Any users from Sydney NSW? I would like to meet like minded rationalist believers and God willing, form a network in Sydney. I have been brought up with a monotheist lifestyle, and until recently, was under the impression that I was one of a very small group of people, who objected to "Hadith" and "Sunnah" of the prophet as being too contaminated with heresy to be verifiable. A few weeks ago I came across this site quite by accident. Needless to say I have more questions than answers. For the last 30 odd years (since I first learnt to read) I have used the Quran only as my source of knowledge, however, I am not an Arabic speaker, hence have had to rely on translations. I thought I had found the clearest in professor M A S Abdel Haleem's version, then came across the Monotheist translation and professor Edip Yuksel's version as recently as last week. Now I am looking for rationalist believers to form a discussion group. On the off-chance that Edip sees this post, I would like very much to get in touch with you. Alhumdulilah, your translation, the end notes and the extra reading you included with this translation has strengthened my faith. May the Almighty guide us all.Mohammed.
