I think you are right on your reasoning. It does say "do not approach them, so it is an order to them, on the other hand at the end of the aya, it says God loves those who purify themselves either in masculine or in generic comprising both sexes, at any rate certainly comprising the masculine, therefore I understand that not to approach them as consideration for the woman is a purification of the sexual relationship, the same as giving zakaat is a purification for the earning of money.

I would like to ask though, couldn't my argument regarding the choice being left up to women be disproven by using the negative principle. As in, if a man can't approach you or have intercourse with you. Can you approach that said man considering he is still bound by that command. Nonetheless I really like your argument of how it hints to keeping the purity of marriage

That's the question right. Allah wants us to worship/server him but he doesn't need us to worship/serve. As even the angels mentioned they are already their to worship/serve him, so why create someone who will deny him. So that points to the fact that worshiping him is just for our own sake. So I don't know.

Regarding the following verse

They ask you about menstruation? Say,"It is painful; so retire yourselves sexually from the women during the menstruation, and do not approach them until they are cleansed. When they are cleansed, then you may approach them as God has commanded you." God loves
the repenters and He loves the cleansed. (2222) (Reformist Translation)

And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for you. Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."(Sahih International)

From the following verse it's clear that men are being told to refrain from women and not to approach them until they are purified/clean.

My question is that whether God is telling the women to do the opposite. Since only men are being commanded to refrain but not women. So can it be assumed that the decision of intercourse during menstruation is solely for women to decide? Also this question assumes that the verse is only taking about sexual intercourse, yet it previous threads it has been shown it can also be about not annoying them. Regardless my reason for asking this topic is because it has been shown that intercourse can help some women relieve the pain during their periods. While for some other women intercourse is still unbearable.

Also it has been shown that intercourse during menstruation does actually increase STD chances but this risk can be mitigated used condoms. So all of this points kind of to the fact that women have the choice, since they experiencing the discomfort. So they might mitigated it if they can? While men during this time can't bother them or ask for intercourse until after menstruation. Though interestingly the verse doesn't mention until the end of menstruation too.

I have always wondered why we were created. A lot of the answers that I have read are refuted by Allah SWT. I will list two of the answers and their replies below. Then I would like to know your opinion on the subject. Also I don't remember the verse numbers of the quranic answers I am listing to the first response. So apologies for that.

Created to worship him/to be tested by him?

Quran does mention that humans are created worship Allah. Yet worship it seems is for our own good and it is not something that Allah requires himself. As God mentions you are loss for not worshiping and if he wanted he could have made you worship him. So in turn it also means Allah doesn't care where we eventually ends. He does mention he wants use to reach Heaven. Yet mention its something of our own volition and something for us to achieve.

Tested because we took the covenant?

This is related to excellent Why we are here article on here. It pretty much explains how we are here in my opinion, yet it doesn't mention Why. Meaning, why did we need to take the covenant? Why do we need to play the game? Why has the game been set up?.

So what are you opinions on this matter. Also if you have some relevant verses to this matter, please do share.

So for the sensationalist title, but I wanted to asked whether Allah upholds his promise to preserve the Quran and protect it from corruption.

Manuscripts like the Sanaa folios suggest otherwise, even though most of the difference can be noted to scribal errors. As noted in the following papers.

While other variations are noted as being slight differences created due to transmission of Quran in semi oral form. Which can bring about small changes in the meaning of certain verses. Though the author noted that again the variations are only a small fraction and most of them being grammar,spelling etc.

So my question is related to what Allah means when he will preserve the Quran. Does it mean every letter is the way it was revealed to the Prophet. Or that in essence the basic message will be preserve. Which can be noted due to the low number of errors in many manuscripts.

Reading some opinions on previous threads and the whichquran article. Some are of the opinion that the Quran hasn't been preserved. If so, then doesn't that invalidate Allah's promise. Also Allah challenges everyone to bring something like it. So if some people say that this verse has been added or what not. Isn't that challenge broken then.

Finally I apologies if this question seems trivial. I just want to learn about my deen.
