  • Verse 2:54 Perhaps Needs Proper Translation
    M muftisofti

My translation says "slay yourselves the wrongdoers."

I would suppose that it is like saying bake yourself a cake. It doesn't realy mean you are baking yourself.

This fits in better with the original Biblical account where those who would not repent worshipping idols were slain.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Iblys and his Seed
    M muftisofti

    Peace runninglikezebras,

Thank you for the reply, to answer the above, I cannot because as I mentioned before speculation is
just that i.e., speculation, therefore you need to supply verses from Quran to speak (type) with
certainty. Please give verse where Iblis rules hell or at least context.

Agreed, but Iblis is jinn, distinct from malaika, no longer a controller/helper but enemy (20117).

    God bless you

    peace

I believe the passage says that Hell is guarded not controlled. Only God can control Hell.

The passage about Iblis and Adam refers to the garden episode and I believe the Norse myths have bearing in that regard. I believe the serpent was Hel who was a shapeshifter and a trickster. However Hel may have originally been a lizard person and was showing his/her true nature. The lizard people were ancient enemies of the sun people (Mayan legend) in heaven and sometimes that enmity spills over to this planet as well. I beleive the sun people were called that because of their blonde hair but they were only one of the Caucasian races to come from other planets. It is most probable that the Adamic race is indiginous ie native to this world.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Iblys and his Seed
    M muftisofti

I'm telling you that 'Iblys' is 'Pride' itself!

I believe that is attributing a person to a quality. No doubt Iblis stands as a symbol of pride but He does not maigicaly appear in anyone who has it.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Iblys and his Seed
    M muftisofti

I believe the Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. That probably equates to envy and jealosy.

I believe pride exalts self when it is Allah that should be exalted. Iblis wanted to be God instead of Allah but his way of going about it was to negate God which forms the source of his evil. Basicly he envies the power of God and money is basicly power.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Christmas Special - True Nature of Christ Revealed in the Holy Quran!
    M muftisofti

I believe quoting from the watchtower reveals where this comes from and it certainly isn't the Bible or the Qu'ran.

I believe when Jesus was born of a virgin He fulfilled prophecy from Isaiah. It also meant that he became the firstborn of all creation.

I believe Jesus may be like Adam in some ways but He is definitely not the same and I know of no evidence that Adam came from Paradise or Jesus either for that matter.

There is ample evidence that Jesus claimed to be God.

    General Issues / Questions

  • Needing some sort of explanation

I disagree with the "environment determines actions" theory. I grew up with twin brothers who were my friends. They had the same environment but one chose to do good things and the other cose to do evil things. I belive that a person carries an understanding of right and wrong from previous lives and that keeps a person from following the wrong way even though his environment encourages it.

On the other hand I have come out of some myths my parents taught me that I didn't have any sense of and just accepted. It is hard enough to find the right path in this world without having parents leading on the wrong path.
God only punishes sin that is consciously done but the wages of sin are death whether God punishes or not.

What is the nature of God?

  • I am so lost...
    M muftisofti

It is not neccessary to feel God. Feelings can be illusive at times. I think what you are really seeking is a relationship to God. Islam does not provide the link to the Holy Spirit that Christianity does. However that doesn't mean there aren't ways to form that link through Islam, only that the link is more tenuous. Allah nailed this down for Mohammed by telling him that he just needed to hear and obey as Abraham did. That sounds simple but it takes faith to call upon God to speak to you and faith to believe that He will. To further complicate things, people have been known to hear the voice of the devil instead. How can you tell the difference? Jesus said that the Paraclete (Holy Spirit) would remind you of all things that He said. Therefore all things should be in harmony with scripture.

From your background you don't need to develop an antipathy to all things Jewish that Arabs tend to have. You can have the best of both worlds. The only caution I would throw in would be not to antagonize your husband if he has an antipathy to Jewish things. Jas 48 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

I came from a link that was placed on The Religious Education Forum.

    M muftisofti

First of all you should know that I am a Christian. I have examined other religions to better understand the people with whom I speak. I have fully read the Quaran and believe it to be the Word of God as I also believe the Bible is the Word of God. (I think Bible trashers need their heads examined)

I have been to Friday prayer meeting locally with a neighbor whose native country is Pakistan.

My purpose is always the same, to promote truth and a Godly point of view.
