Asalamu ALaikum Ya'll !
I've been recently introduced to non-traditionalist Islam, and I felt like I was being to re-introduced to Islam all over again. Although I've always had my doubts about the so called Hadith, and the way it was compiled but this website puts it in a very enlightening way, so Jazakumallah Khayran.
I am still finding it hard to reject all Hadith for I think it still provides an explanation to a lot of things that seem to be left out from the Quran (Astaghferullah its' probably my brainwashed traditional mind thinking ) , but things like Khole' , where women are giving the right to divorce themselves come from the hadith,
also the Salat..I am still not sure how to pray according to the Quran, I find it very difficult to leave the way I was taught to pray and make Wudu.
Perhaps some of you brothers and sisters can provide me with some support..
I also find the lack of community for Muslims who reject traditions, like the lack of non traditional masjids very challenging. I live in the UK and there aren't any I know of here, although I do know many people who openly reject traditions, narrations and accept nothing but the Quran but are still forced to practice according to Sunna due to the lack of community. Also, every time I tell friends and family how I only see Quran as the only true source of Islam, not imams, not traditions, nothing else, they all seem to accept it and sometimes agree. So to many people I've talked to it's not much of an alien idea.
I would also like to suggest that we refer to ourselves as The Muslims ( Al Muslmin) , not the Quranist, or whatever because we're not a sect, we are only Muslims (Submitters).
Shouldn't this movement of Islamic revival of the authentic message of God be revived and spread? Shouldn't there be community centers and more support literature for The Muslims? Or is competing with the Wahabi petrodollar the biggest challenge of our movement?
I am sorry I've raised too many topics in one thread but my is my mind is literally rushing with thoughts that I feel like sharing.
Anyways thank you all again, and hope that I'll get some answers to the questions, I raised from the more knowledgeable inshallah, or at least provoke a discussion for the topics I mentioned.
