Peace,
Were Adam and Eve the first human beings?
Sort of. Eve is not mentioned in the qur'an. Adam is the name given to represent the first generation of humans - evolved recipients of God's gift of self-awareness and language. The parable of the Adam story is the common thread of all mankind the battle between ego and spirituality.

Peace OPF,
Old post, but it was on my mind - I agree with your concluded question
It is not eternal but a necessary phase while this universe exists. On the scales of justice, a single lifetime of being a generally terrible person is not equal to ETERNAL damnation. I'm beginning to understand these verses in a reverse cause-and-effect process. At face value, we're often led to conclude that the punishment/reward is delivered after the life of action. But, I feel it is more along the lines of a life of action causes the connection or disconnection. Thus, a person living in a negative state simply does not ever come close to connecting to God, as God is pure positive. Thus, if he/she dies in this negative state, he/she is stuck there until the next phase, ie, the end of the universe.

Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Sabians, and the Nazarenes, whomever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good work; then they will have nothing to fear nor will they grieve.
I say no.
A lifetime spent/sacrificed in the helping of others cannot possibly become null and void for having been born into the wrong religion.
She actually spent a good part of her later years questioning her own belief in God, as she had seen so much pain.

Peace Saleh,
You asked/stated
did you read his full argument and understand what he based his opinion upon? Did you study his theory and the laws of physics which he used to arrive to his conclusion as much as he studied religion and the possibility of God? I assure you, he did study it and consider it over many years. I am very positive each person will answer "No".
Unfortunately, the amount of time spent studying does not equate to a grasp of the topic. Some people practice DJ'ing for years and still can't match a beat. Millions spend their lives studying their own religions yet fail to see the guidance within. Hawking has demonstrated, with one sentence, that he too is victim to this apparent paradox - that's accepting that he has studied as much spirituality and religion as you claim.
It's evident to me that he's brilliant - in physics, that is. But in understanding God, or accepting or rejecting God, he should probably step aside or just leave the topic out of the equation

Tay

Peace,
"That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions -- the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass, far less remarkable, and far less compelling evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings," he writes.
Less compelling that it was designed to please us humans? Yes (who argued that anyway??)
Less compelling that it was designed by a higher intelligence? No
I respect Hawking but this is surprisingly fallacious.

Peace OPF,
I'm glad to hear that you found the whole thing enlightening - I left off last night/this morning when Ra was just touching on the 4th density stuff and was starting to lose interest but I'll push through. To be honest, it's a lot to take in all at once but the recurring theme of "one" and "love" fits in with my current understanding so i guess that's what's keeping me tuned in.
Nevertheless, it's fascinating to me that you've opened yourself up to channeling. Could you share your experience from beginning to present, either here or in a pm?
Peace,
Tay
Peace Kurt,
Yeah, it's getting reaaaally far out there now (session 10). But, I'm doing my best to keep an open mind about it. Any thoughts on the content? I found the discussion on healing fascinating - talking about purifying the mind by becoming aware of itself and it's polarities - I'm not gonna get much sleep tonight.
Peace!
Peace all,
Munzir, good to be back and good to see you
Sarah, you stated
it is subjective to the individual though the reading/researching helps challenge ones logic to really decipher whether it is actually logical or if it is tainted with error
I agree to a certain extent. One must draw a line at some point and put the knowledge gained into practice in order to feel it's validity. A simple example would be imagine a person who has read 500 books on meditation but has not spent one moment meditating. All that knowledge is useless.
Doesn?t thinking/searching help one find ways to improve their life?
Certainly. My point is one should draw a line at a certain point and go and improve his/her life.
Wakas, good to see you as well brother.
David K, thanks for the kindness.
You stated
Especially the laws which are not physical, can not be detected through Reason/logic. We need revelation to discover these laws.
Can you provide an example?
In the meantime, please understand that my point is no matter what you read from what source, if it is your mind that is processing the words, then a true grasp of the understanding is not possible ? when we?re dealing with ideas beyond logic. Logic is the tool of the mind. Imagination and love are the tools of the eternal self. These do not translate back and forth.
The simplest and most blatant example is God. We, here at this forum, all believe in God?s existence ? with all of our hearts - yet not one person can even begin to explain what God is. The mind is simply not capable of reaching it. Yet we can feel God in everything we do. We can be filled with joy or sadness or peace or withdrawal all while thinking of God. But we cannot ever explain the ?substance? (for lack of a better word).
And thank you for the links.
Edip, thank you for the kind words. Check your email.
Kurt, great to see you?re still here. I had a feeling this would be up your alley.
I hope to pop in more frequently.

Peace Johnny,
Predestiny and justice cannot coexist. If one's death is predetermined, then every step along the way is predetermined, and thus those that strayed were "designed" to stray and, hence, suffer. There is no other way to reconcile it.
Peace,
Tay
Peace Diem,
If God knows everything that is going to happen, what is the point of creating humans if he knows what they are going to do? What I have been taught for my whole life is that god created humans to see who would worship him and who wouldn't, but he already knows so whats the point?
This is a paradoxical question that comes up now and again. There's no perfect answer, unfortunately. The way I understand it is this the future is NOT pre-written. It is dynamic, changing every moment with every decision made. however, there are not an infinite amount of decisions made. There are limits.
In it's simplest form, imagine a mouse in a maze. There is one entrance and many exits, and many forks along the way. Now with each turn at each fork, the overall path becomes apparent. The observer can see where the mouse is headed. And then again with the next fork, and the next one.
It's easy to see that God can in fact know where you're headed while not dictating your direction.

Tay
Peace,
A push was made last year to get it on but there was not enough verifiable information or something like that.

Peace Wakas,
Excellet post.
I would take it a bit further, and apply that same sort of reflection to one's entire life. How many inessentials do we partake in, donating our priceless time to things that are simply meaningless. How much energy do we waste worrying about things that we can't control, or things that may or may not happen. Imagine if we could recapture all the wasted time and energy and channel it toward things that are essential - that family member or friend you haven't had time to call, that thing you meant to do for someone or your self.
The spirit, like muscle, when not used, begins to atrophy. Inessentials are obstacles in the way of spiritual freedom and the fulfilment of one's potential.

Peace Fuhrer,
You'll see that every translator agrees to interpret "but they cannot harm anyone except by God's permission" from within the ayah. Thus, one cannot break-up a marriage with sorcery or magic.
You stated
It's frustrating, really -I thought I had actual proof of the Truth.
I don't know that such a thing is possible. But even if the code was on the money, 100% fool-proof and absolutely confirmed to be divine in nature - and everything that seemed illogical and /or mystical was stripped away by the "right" interpretation, what then?
Peace,
Tay
Peace Zulu1, and welcome,
You've made a valid point - although I don't agree that any interpretation was misleading. There should be an explanation as to how the author arrived at the conclusion/interpretation of the ayah - especially on the home page. Perhaps a link to an article or thread.
Thanks for the observation.
Peace,
Tay
"Why should "we" be identified? If you're intelligent, do you have to belong to the (inteligentia) group to be identified? Actions speak for us and God will identify us. Isn't that how we connect to others and relate to them, through their behaviour and actions and not their labels?"
bravo

Peace Lobster,
If you happen to cross paths with Rifat again, ask him to state his case and post his evidence. Otherwise, there's not much to it, right?
Peace,
Tay
Peace belalhammad,
I can not understand what you mean, Please explain more.
Thanks
In summary, the mention of isa as ibn maryam has zero sigificance in support of your argument that isa was born without a father.
Somewhere in this thread, you mentioned that God could have easily said, "Isa had a father". Did you ever think that he could have just as easily said, "Isa did not have a father"??
More importantly, you stated
Arnold, you are committing the worse Sin that God will not Forgive no matter what Good deeds you would do to compensate for. It is the Sin of saying what God did not say in the Book ?Shirk?, and disbelieving the decisive verses ?Kofer?, and following non-well- established verse to cancelout well established verses.
If Free-Minds Management allows this, then they are committing the same Sins by ignoring there own rulls that they set for this Fourm.
You have no authority nor argument to base these accusations. Arnold's point of view is based on his interpretation of the text, just as your point of view is based on your interpretation. That's why we discuss. Check your self before throwing around words like shirk and kafir.
May peace be upon you,
Tay
Peace belalhammad,
You're avoiding the question -
How many significant females are mentioned in the qur'an in comparison to their mention as someone's mother, versus males mentioned versus their mention as someone's mother. If you're not up to it, I'll summarize for you. The ratio of women mentioned versus their mention as mothers far exceeds the ratio of males. Thus, any and all correlation to some kind of cultural precedence is null and void.
Peace,
Tay
