This is an interesting video made by an amateur astronomer observing (digital!??) waves on the moon...> https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUGxysKSGEM

He's not a believer of Flat Earth Theory but if there are really waves on the moon, it might allude to something, like that it's not really what we think it is!

    Salam everyone,

Experimental science is different from theoretical science! For instance, the Egyptians built the pyramids without General/Special theory of relativity or Quantum Mechanics; or believing in whatever the earth is like!

Pazuzu is quite right that Einstein's theory of relativity is not confirmed yet.

When you want to find something that the theory predicts you will tend to disregard all the other possibilities and try to do away with anomalies!

Special Theory of Relativity has two Postulates

1- All observers on frames of reference moving uniformly in a straight line at any velocity obtain the same velocity of light relative to their frame of reference.

2- The velocity of light is a constant independent of the velocity of the source.

How much do we really know that these two assumptions are correct?

As neion zobayed also suggested, human emotions, creativity, thoughts and curiosity do not depend on whether the earth is flat or a globe.

This thread is 42~43 pages long now but I can find some posts as only sarcasm and name-calling, two things that are prohibited clearly in the Qur'an and should be followed accordingly-regardless of the earth being flat or globe!

We need to remember that much of the current physical/cosmological sciences is based upon assumptions made centuries ago. And as I speak for myself, am ready to unlearn what I have learned and accept new theories, even if they are called Conspiracy Theories.

Do you know how scientific community works?! They accept a theory and try to prove it right. When they find evidence that can be provided by other methods and theories too, they tend to give credit to the most popular theory.

We can manipulate our observations and fool our brain in order to see evidence that our theory/set of beliefs wants us to see.

Come on brothers! Let's stop the non-productive discussion and grab a book and read it now!

    Salam everybody,

There's a verse in the Qur'an that's been bothering me!

    725

Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
725 there shall you live" - He added - "and there shall you die, and thence shall you be brought forth !

    Rashad Khalifa (The Final Testament)
725 He said, "On it you will live, on it you will die, and from it you will be brought out.",

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
725 He said, "You shall live on earth and die there and be resurrected from there.?

Please read the context; but the verse is clearly implying that humans shall live on earth and die on earth!

The first time I read this verse I remember that I was bothered asking, "What if some astronaut dies on Moon or on Mars?!"

I think this verse is speaking that we humans are earth-bound!

I agree that they never went to the moon! I agree that NASA manipulates the images and videos!

But what about the physics and chemistry? What about the mechanisms through which the sun releases its energy? What about the earthquakes? What about the deepest point on earth, the Mariana Trench?

Actually, there is a dome around the earth and that is a magnetic shield provided by earth's rotation!

and about the flights not taking the shortest path over Antarctica, it may be because in case the planes fail or crash they would have a hard time sending rescue forces to those cold, stormy regions so they take the safest routes!

I find it too hard to accept that all around the Flat Earth there are military forces preventing people from reaching the edge! How many forces and infantry would we need, considering the vastness of the earth?!

    Salam Pazuzu,

Today, i watched almost most of the videos you posted and went through the material.

    First of all,

"-ment" means action hence government would mean the act of governing!

    http//www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/-ment
    ...
    Secondly,

What is wrong with the current scientific theories that the universe started with an event called "Big Bang" and that it is expanding; and there are mysterious forces/energies acting in the universe we don't yet fully understand?

We know that governments lie and shed blood; we know that they are criminals! But i think you are ascribing way too much authority and power to governments!

  • So did anyone figured out what salat is?
    V virtueorvice

The way I see it, Salat basically means relaying the Koran to people who were (back then) not yet aware of it, and reinforcing its teachings to those who already received it. This was done by means of recitation and discussions done in groups.

So it invloves group attendence. This explains why the Koran stresses cleanliness and non-drunkenness when approaching the Salat. And the "janaba" basically means state of dirty / smelly clothes from travelling, so wash up before you attend Salat, unless you are simply passing by the place where the congregation is being held, and do not mean to sit with the group.

So when you sit with someone who isn't aware of the Koran and relay to him what it teaches, you are basically doing Salat. It is something to be done in the community.

    My two cents.

    Peace.

This surely makes sense! Salaat is waking up to the reality and accepting the truth; then, following/establishing the System prescribed in the Qur'an for the benefit of whole mankind.

Salat has nothing to do with imaginary rituals and self-centered meditations.

    Salam,

QXP by Dr. Shabbir Ahmed has another interesting view in this regard. You can compare the verses you have mentioned.

2782 When the Word comes to pass against them, We will cause the poor exploited ones to rise up, practically telling people that they did not have conviction in Our messages.

3414 When We decreed death for him, nothing showed his death to the wild tribes until a creature of the earth ate away the strength he had mustered. (The incompetent successor Rehoboam destroyed the kingdom.) When the power base fell, the wild tribes rebelled regretting that they should have done it sooner only if they knew that the new king was unjust and weak.

Your view is valid scientifically! But I think it can be generally understood as anything coming out of the earth. For instance, weapons of mass destruction are made by earth stuff and they can endanger lives of people and in times of war remind them that they didn't have conviction in the Qur'an.

If we accept that some worm ate away Solomon's staff, for instance, termites! We should seek how long does it take for a termite to eat away wood.

    1. How quick can termite eat wood in my home?

Eastern Subterranean Termites, which are native to Louisiana, can eat 1 foot of 2x4 in 120 days. Formosan Termites, which were imported to Louisiana in the 1950?s, can eat 1 foot of 2x4 in 19 days. Drywood Termites consume wood very slow rate, it could be many years before a small pocket of damage is ever discovered.
    http//www.extermatrim.com/termite-faqs

Does that mean that we should accept that a King like Solomon was abandoned without food or services until some termites finished his staff and he fell down and his death was revealed, as the legend has put it?!

  • No Elephants in the Quran
    V virtueorvice

    Salam Pazuz,

I know you have more to tell us and please do!

The Qur'an is so diverse, and yet coherent in its message. Taking Al-Feel as a name of a town or tribe makes more sense than believing the fairy-tale history that Muhammad was born such and such in the Year of the Elephant.

Fabrication and conspiracies have always been tools to fool mankind.

Here is Dr. Shabbir Ahmed's explanation for Chapter 105 of the Qur'an. I posted to show that your explanation is much simpler and makes more sense. Dr. Ahmed has tried to make sense of history (Elephants trampling the soldiers!).

This brief Surah with five verses has a very interesting history behind it. As we have seen in the history of the Empire of Sheba (Surahs An-Naml 27, Saba 34, and Qaaf 50), the kingdom of Sheba had collapsed in 115 BC. They were overtaken by the Himairis who ruled until 300 CE when other tribes overtook the control of Yemen. They were in turn defeated by the Christian Kingdom of Ethiopia-Abyssinia when they invaded Yemen in 525 CE. Abrahah was then appointed Viceroy of Yemen.

The Roman and the Abyssinian Christians longed for converting the idolaters of Arabia to Christianity. They also sought control of the trade routes between Arabia, Persia and the Western Roman Empire. They saw Ka?bah in Makkah as a hindrance to their imperialistic and religious designs. Abrahah, the Viceroy of Yemen made a smart move. Between 550 and 555 CE he built a gorgeous cathedral EKKLESIA in San?aa, Yemen, and invited people and neighboring countries to come for pilgrimage there instead of going to Makkah. When Ekklesia remained unpopular, Abrahah decided to invade Makkah and demolish the Ka?bah.

Since he correctly anticipated the presence of hostile tribes en-route, he came up with a 60,000 Strong army aided by thousands of horses, camels and thirteen elephants.

I agree with the research of Hamiduddin Farahi, Amin Ahsan Islahi and G.A.Parwez on what eventually happened. As Abrahah?s army approached Makkah, the Makkans who had been alerted by some travelers beforehand, saw flocks of birds that normally fly over caravans in search for food. The Makkans mounted the hills around and threw stones on the troops. The elephants, and in turn, other rides panicked and trampled the soldiers. This incident took place in 570 CE when the exalted Messenger was born. The event carried such significance that the Arabs, in their Calendar, marked it as the ?Year of the Elephant? (?Aam-il-Feel) as a point of reference in history.

  • Theory of Evolution anyone ?
    V virtueorvice

The problem with your approach is that you are viewing evolution as a theory, when in truth it is nothing but an ideology that is full of holes, propagated purely for political reasons.

I would like you to take a look at the following simple sentence from the Quran, if you truly believe it to be the word of Divinity, and tell me, without beating around the bush, without resorting to acrobatics or manipulation, what it means to you

{And Allah made you grow from the earth as plants}...

    Salam,

Dr. Shabbir Ahmed has translated the verse you quoted as 7117 And God has caused you to grow as a growth from the earth.

Muhammad Asad has also given a similar rendition.

Not everything that the theory of evolution says is correct neither it is addressing all the problems; nevertheless, everything has happened/is happening in measured stages and working according to divine laws.

Whatever has happened to "bashar" that turned him into "Insan" must be discovered and addressed through natural phenomena.

There are some theories and explanations that address the problem of "bashar" vs. "insan" in a good and rational manner. But I agree with you that the mainstream "theory of evolution" has become (by many atheists) an ideological tool and propaganda machine .

  • The Quran was sent down in the 4th Century?
    V virtueorvice

    Salam Hizbollah,

I have to inform you that the distortions (or better saying writings) of the books had begun long before Muhammad's time.

Most probably, by the time of Ezra, there existed an Old Testament!

Bernard Leeman, in his book "The Queen of Sheba and Biblical Scholarship" states, "Ezra is credited with re-establishing the Jewish community as a distinct group forbidden to marry outsiders and as one adhering to strictures of the Torah. The terms Judaism and Jew date from him reforms. Ezra was not only a Zadokite priest but also a scribe. He held high office under the Persians, probably as a sort of minister for Jewish affairs. He arrived under Persian orders in approximately 398 BC. To bolster Jewish settlement, to provide subsidies, and to impose the Jewish legal code on the province of Judah. Armed with Persian imperial authority, Ezra created an uncompromising Zadokite state modeled on Ezekiels vision. Salvation lay only through complete adherence to the Torah, administered by the Zadokite priesthood who controlled Aliyeh- the Place of Spiritual Ascension- which later became known as the New Jerusalem. Ezra established a school of priestly scholarship that edited ancient sacred texts and produced new ones, including ones of his life and work, which were then canonized as Holy Writ. The Book of Ezra was the last book written for the Old Testament, and adherents of the reformed religious tradition now called Judaism regarded it as the last word on the subject."

You right when you claim that Torah and Injeel existed at the time of Muhammad (S), but you should note that the Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) are different from Torah and Injeel.

I think at the time of Muhammad (S) Old Testament and New Testament existed in, and originated from, Jerusalem; but that Muhammad's contemporaries somehow had access to the original Torah and Injeel too.

    Salaam,

Also I wanted to let you knowt that I have read carefully ALL the posts on this thread and have considered asking the questions which I did, being aware that the thread is slightly inactive. The main point of my post were

    1. the analysis of horticulture (case study of olive and fig tree) in relation to the proposed by Pazuzu theory. After 2 days of research on his posts I am on the 15th page of his posts and yet still didn't find much analysis about those two trees apart from few mentions that they existed in Yemen without much references.
    2. Question of Bakka I think I found more or less convincing answer here
    3. request for more references on lingistics and the Theory of the Mother of Languages. As i have said, I am very interested with this topic and done some proper research on the roots of many languages of the world and their similarity to roots in Arabic and other semitic languages and I believe that I also could contribute to the discussion very valuable points if someone could be willing to hear my feedback. I thought that it would beatifully compliment pazuzu's research, but never mind if you claim that my posts are irrelevant, unimportant and futile!

The valleys of Aseer and Yemen have also been known to harbor breeding grounds for locusts, up until not too long ago. (So when you think of the Old Testament stories speaking of locusts and famine which plagued the land of Msrim, you know where to look). It is also the region that sees the most rainfall in all of Arabia, both in winter and in summer. It is a land known for its wooded mountains (Tr), on which trees of many varieties grow, including Junipers, Lote trees Cedars, Acacia, Bramble, and Cyprus trees. Its mountain slopes have been made into stepped terraces ideal for agriculture, for over 4000 years, and are among the most fertile regions in the Middle East. Figs, olives, dates, grapes, pomegranates and a wide variety of nuts and seeds are grown there until today. The honey of Yemen (the legendary Cedar Honey) is greatly prized globally, and considered one of the finest brands of honey in the world. It is a land known for its rich livestock grazing grounds as well as for its mineral resources of iron, gold, and copper, some of whose reserves remain untapped. - The Road of The Patriarch

The advocates of the Palestinian r theory actually thought that the Qurn supported their argument, specifically in the following passage {And a tree which emerges from r Seen; it grows with oil and is a relish for those who eat}. Their argument is that olives do not - nor did they ever - grow on the so-called Sinai Peninsula, which means that the Egyptian r theory clearly contradicts the Qurn. Whereas, on the other hand, the Blessed Land (al-ar al-mubraka) - which they automatically assumed was Palestine - had plenty of olive trees all year round. In fact, the mountain in question, which overlooks Jerusalem, is called the Mount of Olives, and its peak is around 850 meters above sea level. Their conclusion was that r Seen is in fact the Mount of Olives.

What the proponents of the Mount of Olives didnt realize is that they had fallen under the influence of an old and fruitless Jewish debate regarding the true location of Mount Sinai, a debate that is still raging until today. In fact, some Jewish sects firmly believe that the Mount of Olives is Mount Sinai, where the Lord spoke to Msa. A more recent theory among Biblical scholars and academics has even placed Mount Sinai in the far north of Saudi Arabia, claiming that it is none other than the famous Jabal al-Lawz, a peculiar-looking mountain with a blackened peak, located near the city of Tabk, not far from the Jordanian border. Still, others have claimed that Mount Sinai is somewhere in the Negev desert! -Search for Pharaoh

The Books II and III are filled with place names the similarity between the names cited in Arabian Poetry and Geographical Books with the names in the Old Testament!

As far as I know, Bakkah and Makkah will be tackled in the upcoming books... anyway, I hope Pazuzu will shed more light!

    Salaam,

I know that this topic is a bit old but it is certainly worth reviving it. It is a great analysis done with critical mind, I myself verified few things and although I am tend to agree with many analysis, too many questions remain unanswered and I wouuld be very grateful if Pazuzu could address them

    1. Still, this research doesnt really say where is the Baka, any indications on the old maps would help, linguistic, ethnographic analysis, could anyone help? Up until now I tend to believe that it is in Jerusalem, although I am open to logical and convincing argument which would show otherwise

    2. Horticultural clues for the city of peace, Surah at Tin

Srat al-Tn (Arabic , The Fig, The Figtree) is the 95th sura of the Qur'an with 8 ayat.

    Translation

(I Swear) By the fig and (by) the olive (1)

And Mount Sinai (it says Sineen) (2)

And this secure land (what land, does it say Baka/Dar us Salam or what?), (3)

We have certainly created man (and woman) in the best of stature; (4)

Then We returned (him/her) to the lowest of the lowest, (5)

Except those who believe (in the oneness of Allah) and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted. (6)

So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense? (7)

Is not Allah the most just of judges? (8

My understanding of this surah is that figs and olives can be a very important clue to understand where this secure land or Baka was
Now, according to Wikipedia (I know what you're going to say but I'm not a horticulturist so I have no idea what are more reliable surces to study the origin of these two species)

'The edible fig is one of the first plants that was cultivated by humans. Nine subfossil figs of a parthenocarpic (and therefore sterile) type dating to about 94009200 BC were found in the early Neolithic village Gilgal I (in the Jordan Valley, 13 km north of Jericho). The find predates the domestication of wheat, barley, and legumes, and may thus be the first known instance of agriculture' http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_fig#History

    and olive tree
'The edible olive has been cultivated for at least 5,000 to 6,000 years, with the most ancient evidence of olive cultivation having been found in Syria, Israel and Crete. The olive tree is native to the Mediterranean region and Western Asia, and spread to nearby countries from there.' http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive#Prehistory

What do you think about this approach, archeologist are using the carbon method to date the fossils and I tend to believe that it might be more or less correct? How about Yemen? As far as I know it was never the ancient habitat of olive and fig, it used to be mediterranean region??

    1. Pazuzu, could you please provide me with the links, if any, to your research about the Mother of the Languages and about origin of Hebrew, I've done degree in african linguistics and to me it's really fascinating to analyse what is the origin of languages, I will appreciate it a lot.

Great work and looking forward to your response sun

    Salam,

We should regard that Chaste and Virgin are two different terms. Someone may be a virgin but not a chaste person and also when someone is not virgin that doesn't mean he or she is an unchaste person!

Maryam was living in an ignorant society, she was an orphan and most probably a prophetess. She was devoted to the temple but the temple was already corrupted by the mischief of the Children of Israel. So when Maryam decided to leave the temple, she knew that she wouldn't be welcomed by her community hence she went to another location, married and bore Isa!

Maryam keeps her marriage secret and when Isa reaches maturity he goes with her mother to their community and declares his mission!

There's nothing twisted and complicated about it!

342 (Mary kept a spotless character as she grew up.) Angels told her, God has chosen you, given you a spotless character and given you distinction among the women of your times.

343 She was told by angels to gather courage, quit monasticism, submit to the command of her Lord and join her family for leading a normal life bowing to the design that God has ordained for people.

344 (O Messenger) We are revealing to you these events of the unseen history (so that you may dispel conjecture). You were not present with them when they threw their pens (casting lots) which of them should take charge of Mary (after Zakariya). And you were not present with them when they quarreled about it.

345 Angels said, O Mary! God gives you the good news through a word from Him. His name would be Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, held in honor in this world and among the ones close (to Me) in the Hereafter.

346 He will speak to people while very young and in ripe old age with his faculties well intact.

347 Mary exclaimed! O My Lord, How shall I have a son when no man has (intimately) touched me? He said, Just as God creates everyone according to His laws (340). When God decrees a matter, it starts happening.

348 And God will teach him the scripture and the wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel.

349 And He will be a Messenger to the Children of Israel. He will say to them, I come to you with revelation from your Lord. If you follow me, I will raise you from dust to the heights of glory by the command of God (7176). The blind among you will begin to see the truth. Those of you who are spotted with sin, I will heal them, and I shall grant real life to those who are just dragging on without purpose; all by God's leave, according to His laws. I am here to establish justice and equity. I shall see to it how much you hoard in your houses and how much you spend on the community. My teachings are sufficient signs for you to believe.

350 I confirm the truth in the Torah before me, and make permissible to you some of what was forbidden. I have come with your Lord's revelation. Be mindful of His commands and obey me.

    V virtueorvice

    Salam

Thank you brother huruf for your logical input!

Unless we don't establish that Jesus of Christianity and Isa of the Qur'an are two different persons, we cannot settle the matter. Virgin birth is an ancient myth and contradicts the Qur'an.

    Good Logic,

I believe the first humans evolved (from lower, less developed creatures) driven by biological processes and genetic information present in all living things. There are evidences out there that before homo sapiens (modern humans) other species existed that resembled us in many aspects.

When we have the beautiful science to explain the Qur'an, why should we rush to mullah-sponsored interpretations (of 1000 years ago) that only distort the message and present a backward and stupid picture of the Qur'an?

As the main theme of this thread suggests, there are many things wrong with our current understanding of the of the Qur'an, the History of Islam and the Biblical events.

We need to keep an open mind and try to apply the best possible explanation that doesn't contradict the established scientific facts.

    Birdy,

the Qur'an says that everything has been created in pairs

267 Have they never considered the earth, how many noble things of all kind We have made to grow in it in pairs?

4312 And He is the One Who has created all things in pairs...

so, even if those women had no intercourse (or other asexual processes in other organisms) still an egg needs an sperm to be fertilized.

Do you think Allah has fertilized Maryam?! If so, then Allah is contradicting Himself when He says He has never adopted for Himself a son nor has He taken for Himself a mate.

If Allah has not fertilized Maryam, then, a man must have done so! Is this simpler to accept or going through the mythical belief of virgin birth?!

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

This is a reply to the Virgin Birth Myth I paste here from another forum

You may want to read this about how Allah creates and the virgin birth fairy tale copied from the deviant Christian belief which was copied from the deviant pagans. We Muslims did a lot of copying; when and how this happened is a matter for history but thankfully we have the pure Quran to judge what is wrong with our beliefs and remove them.

    BE Kun Fayakoon

There are fewer words smaller than this one, and you would expect that it is an easy task to work out its meaning, but it is so misunderstood by some Muslims that it beggars belief! If they cannot get this right, then what about three or more syllable words? Oops! Failed on them as well!

If you are thinking that all Allah has to say is Be and it happens, then read and learn what the whole Qur'an has to say on this minutiae word. Allah said man should be created and he popped up, naked and fully formed, just like that, Jesus popped into existence, hallelujah! This pulling of a rabbit out of a hat does not happen like this so now I must prove it.

Allah creates in the realm of the uncreated and this is manifested in the created universe but He does not change a law by way of miracles etc but uses what is in the universe, which He created, to fullfil this plan. NO MIRACLES.

634 messengers before you, were denied and opposed. They steadfastly faced persecution until Our help reached them. There is none to alter the decisions, Laws and Words of God. Some history of the messengers has already come to you and sets examples for you.

635 If their turning aside is troublesome for you, then if you were able to dig a tunnel in the ground, or climbed a ladder to the sky and brought them a miracle (they still would not believe). If it were Gods Will, He could assemble them together unto true Guidance. So, do not be among those who are swayed by ignorance (about free will given to humans).

636 Only those can accept the Truth who hear and listen with an open mind (10100). The living dead will only hear when God raises them (to use their faculties (2260), or when God will raise them to the second life. Ultimately, unto Him they be returned.

637 They say, If only a miracle could come down to him from his Lord! Say, God surely has the Power to send down a miracle, but most of them do not use their knowledge.

Now a normal translation of a miraculous BE event-

In Surah 3 verses 43-47, Yusuf Ali states-

    1. Behold! The angels said "O Mary! Allah has chosen you and purified you; chosen you above the women of all nations.
    2. "O Mary! Worship Your Lord devoutly Prostrate yourself, and bow down with those who bow down."
    3. This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal to you (O Messenger) by inspiration You were not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary Nor were you with them when they disputed (the point).
    4. When the angels said; O Mary! Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the world and in the hereafter, and one of those brought near (to Allah).
    5. He will speak to mankind in his cradle and in his manhood, and he is of the righteous. She said; O my Sustainer! How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me? (The angel) answered Thus it is Allah creates what He wills when He wills a thing to be, He but says unto it, Beand it is.

So where else does the Qur'an use this word-

2117 The Originator of the heavens and earth when He wills a thing to be, He but says to it Be and it is.

2118 Only those who fail to explore the realm of knowledge say, Why does God not speak to us directly, nor is a miracle shown to us? Even thus, as they now speak, spoke those who lived before their times. Their ways of thinking, their hearts and minds are all alike (untouched by the passage of time). We have made clear all the Signs for those who wish to attain conviction

673 And He is the One Who has created the heavens and earth with a definite purpose. Whenever He says Be! it is. His Word is the truth. And His will be the Dominion on the Day the Trumpet (of Resurrection) is blown. Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, for, He is the Wise, the Aware.

1638 They most strongly swear by God that He will not raise the dead. Nay, but it is a promise binding upon Him in truth, but most people do not make use of whatever they know.

1639 He will then make them understand wherein they differed, and the rejecters will realize that they were liars.

1640 Whenever We will anything to be, We say to it Our Word, Be and it is.

1641 Those who emigrate in the cause of God because they were oppressed, We shall give them good lodging in the world, and the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if they but knew.

1642 They have been steadfast, and have put their trust in their Sustainer.

3679 Say, He Who brought them into being in the first instance, will revive them again. He is the Profound Knower of all creation.

3680 (The same Creator) Who produces for you fire out of the green tree, so that you kindle from it.

3681 Is not He Who created the heavens and earth Able to create the like of them? Yes indeed! For, He is the Creator, Knower of all acts of creation.

3682 When He intends a thing, His only command to it is Be and it is.

3683 Glorified is He in Whose Hand rests the Mighty Dominion over all things, and to Him you will be brought back.

4070 Those who reject the Book (Al-Quran), are in fact, denying all revelations with which We sent Our Messenger. But, in time they will come to know (what they had denied.)

4071 When they will have shackles around their necks, and the chains (of their own making), they will be dragged along,

4072 Into the boiling fluid (as they were floating from desire to desire), and, then, they are cast into the fire (of their own making).

4073 And then, they will be asked, "Where are those whom you made partners,

4074 Besides God?" They will groan, "They have failed us miserably. Nay, rather, we were calling upon what never existed. This is how God leaves to stray, those who deny the truth.

4075 This is because in your life on the earth you used to take delight in what was not True, and roamed about haughtily with your false doctrines.

4076 Enter the gates of Hell to abide therein. What a miserable abode for the arrogant!

Read these verses. It is stating that Allah is the originator of all that is in the universe. He created the heavens and earth and made us from sperm and the ovum. But the observation by astronomers that the Universe is still undergoing change by way of expansion and the formation of suns and planets out of interstellar gases shows that Allah did not create it all in one single and completed step but allowed for its creation AND development. This is confirmed in the Qur'an which describes the universe being created from a process resembling the "big bang theory" and then the long process where the original matter was smoke or particles which coalesced to form the stars and planets.

2130 Are the disbelievers not aware that the heavens and earth used to be one solid mass and We exploded them asunder? And that out of water We made every living thing? Will they not, then, acknowledge the truth?

4111 Likewise, He is the One Who designed well the Sky when it was Smoke (Nebulae of gas). And He said to it and the earth, "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We do come, obedient."

Why not create the whole universe in one single step? Why the development in stages? If Allah did all this in the way He has said and how science has proved it happened, then the same can be said for the creation and evolution of life and the ultimate pinnacle of this process, Mankind (well some of us!). Be has to be understood in this way and not in the way it has been corrupted by scholars who have other agendas. Be is not an unnatural act, but a natural process for something to happen.

In the following verse, Yusuf Ali has translated it in a way to show that Allah has impregnated all the females in earth-

    Surah 2 verse 228 (Y. Ali)
Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah has created in their wombs,

Only a those from Tablighi Jamaat are going to believe this is true! Instead, common sense and a little gynaecology tell us that we men have a part to play! So when faced with a verse or word that looks problematic to interpret and understand, use your head and think.

Does the Qur'an contradict itself? As you know, or should know, the Qur'an will not say something in one place and contradict this in another. So read the following-

    BE IN THE QURAN

673 And He is the One Who has created the heavens and earth with a definite purpose. Whenever He says Be! it is. His Word is the truth. And His will be the Dominion on the Day the Trumpet (of Resurrection) is blown. Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, for, He is the Wise, the Aware.

Whenever Allah gives a Command, His instructions are fulfilled. If you think the whole of the universe was created in its present state, fully completed earth, Sun, stars etc, then read what Be actually involves-

2130 Are the disbelievers not aware that the heavens and earth used to be one solid mass and We exploded them asunder? And that out of water We made every living thing? Will they not, then, acknowledge the truth?

A process is set in motion so that it was created and went through an evolving stages; so when Allah said Mary will have a child, this meant she will marry and have one, not that He will put it in her!!

    EVERYTHING IN PAIRS

3511 (Recall your common humble origin.) God created you from dust, then from male and female gametes, and then He makes you pairs. And no female becomes pregnant, nor gives birth without His knowledge (according to His appointed science, without exceptions). No one lives long, and no one lives short, but by His Law. Indeed, all this is easy for God.

3636 Glory to Him Who has created pairs of everything that the earth grows, and of themselves, and of things they have no knowledge yet.

4211 Originator of the heavens and the earth! He has given you mates of your own kind; and mates among the cattle. By this means He multiplies you (creation). However, there is nothing whatsoever like unto Him. And He is the Hearer, the Seer.

4913 O Mankind! Indeed, We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes so that you might (affectionately) come to know one another. Surely, the most honoured among you, in the Sight of God, is the one who is best in conduct. Indeed, God is Knower, Aware.

5148 And We have spread out the earth, and how excellent a Spreader We are!
5149 And all things We created in pairs and in opposites (such that one complements the other), so that you may reflect.
5345 And that He it is Who creates the two companions, the male and the female (pairs and opposites among His creation),
    5346 From gametes that unite.

Pairs, mates, you do not need Grays Anatomy to work this one out! Here Allah confirms that all human beings are born from the union of pairs, male and female. If you take the meaning that Jesus did not have a natural father then you are, may Allah forgive you, contradicting what Allah has said in these verses!

    Mrs God?

6101 Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth; HOW CAN HE HAVE A SON WHEN HE NEVER CHOSE FOR HIMSELF A MATE? He creates all things (and does not procreate 1123.) and He is the Profound Knower of all things and events.

How can Allah have a son when He has no wife? The question is so absurd that we Muslims laugh at the thought of a Mrs God sitting next to Allah (or the blasphemous notion, however much the Christians want to wriggle with words and meanings, of Mary being the mother of God!)! IF ALLAH SAYS THAT HE CANNOT HAVE A SON BECAUSE HE HAS NO WIFE, THEN HOW CAN A WOMAN HAVE A SON WITHOUT A HUSBAND? Believe and follow the truth and it will be for the good of your own soul; or continue in ignorance and blindness and you will have a very hot future in Hellfire.

    THE ULTIMATE CRITERION

    Surah 112
    Say He is Allah, the One and Only;
    Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
    He begets not, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him.

Allah does not beget, He does not impregnate earthly females like the gods of Greece or Rome etc are said to do! Do not try to imagine what Allah is, you can never do so.

Read the whole of the Qur'an with a clean mind to get the complete picture; anything else is SHIRK.

    Salam,

    Peace Virtueorvice.

"Isa was born like all the other humans combination of a male and female gamete- which means Isa has a biological father and mother like every other human being on this planet".

    How about

    1920
She said, "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me; I have never been unchaste."

    There was no male combination?

    GOD bless you.
    Peace.

1920 She said, "How can I have a son when no man has ever (intimately) touched me? For, never have I been a loose woman!?
1921 The angel answered Thus it is - Your Lord says, ?It is easy for Me, so that We make him a symbol for people and a grace from Us. And it is a thing decreed.?

OK! Maryam wasn't unchaste; after some time she found a husband and married him and bore a child. Only they were living away from their original community.

The Qur'an doesn't say the Isa was born out of a virgin, it only narrates the declaration of the news of a son (Isa) to Maryam!

    Consider this

Someone tells a female that she will have a daughter. The female exclaims that she is not dating someone and has no man in her life. After some years the female bears a daughter- so, should we consider that she was a virgin or that she dated some guy, married him and then get impregnated?!

I am curious how you explain for example

    1--The birth of Jesus?

2- The parting of the sea for Moses?...

    GOD bless you.
    Peace.

    Salam,

There was no sea and there was no parting of the sea. Moses managed to find a way to cross a river while Pharaoh and his companions failed to do so.

Isa was born like all the other humans combination of a male and female gamete- which means Isa has a biological father and mother like every other human being on this planet.

As I mentioned in my previous post, many of our misconceptions about the messengers before Muhammad (S) originate from the Bible. There's no mention of miracles and supernatural phenomena in the Qur'an while the Bible is full of miracles and supernatural phenomena.

    Salam,

    ALLAH CAN DO WONDERS.

    Dear brother,

Of course, Allah can do wonders. But Allah has established Himself upon the Laws He has applied to the current Universe. He is not going to violate those laws in order for some foolish people to believe in Him.

Please reflect on these Qur'anic verses

10101 Say, ?Look and ponder what is in the heavens and earth! No miracles and no warnings will help those people who have chosen to disbelieve.

6109 They swear by God that if a miracle comes to them, they would believe in it (the Book). Say, ?All miracles are with God (if you reflect on the Universe). What can make you understand that even if a physical miracle came to them, they would find other excuses and still not believe?

6110 Our law keeps their hearts and their eyes turned away from the truth. Since they have preemptively rejected it (the Qur'an), We let them wander blindly in their rebellious attitude.

6111 Even if We caused the angels to descend to them, and the dead to speak to them, and lined up all the miracles before them, they would not believe. People can be guided only according to God's laws, but most of them choose the way of ignorance.

What we deem as miracles (supernatural events) in the Qur'an are either our misunderstanding, lack of knowledge or our blind insistence on the Biblical teachings.

  • The Quran was sent down in the 4th Century?

    Salam,

Very good explanation, I concur with you. As for the 7 sleepers, they did not die but slept for 300 years and thereafter, ALLAH woke them up. No where in the Quran that say they were raised from the dead! Can you explain and I thank you in advance.

People cannot survive 300 years in sleep. Biological processes need energy and we need to ingest food and water that provide for us the energy to survive. Even those patients with brain death take their required energy through devices.

Very interestingly, the Qur'an asserts that death is like a prolonged state of sleep

3942 (Only the living of the mind and heart can make choices in this world.) It is God Who takes their consciousness upon death, and of the living during their sleep. He withholds it for those upon whom He has passed the decree of death, and restores the others until an appointed time (according to His laws). Herein are signs for people who think.

660 He suspends your consciousness during sleep at night, and knows what you do by day, when awake. He resurrects you every morning until your life span is completed. Death is, likewise, a temporary suspension of consciousness and afterward to Him is your return (3942). Then, He will inform you of what you really accomplished.

3651 And when the Trumpet is blown, out of their disintegrated states to their Lord they will run.

3652 They will say, ?Oh, woe to us! Who has awakened us from our beds of sleep? This is what the Beneficent promised, and the Messengers spoke the truth.?

Regarding the chain of messengers, I would suggest you read brother Pazuzu's posts on this forum as he claims that all the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an must have come from a same place which is probably Yemen and South Western Arabia.

All the prophets named in the Qur'an, spoke languages that were related to the Arabic of the Qur'an.

Persian is an Endo-European language different from Arabic that is an Afro-Asiatic language.
