Is "Euthanasia" allowed?

In my opinion, people who do not appreciate life do not deserve life.
Peace jankren, all
i wonder what happens to you. You usually are a very considerate, thoughtful "poster" but sometimes the gun just goes off too early i guess.
Suffering in a hospital bed, knowing - except a miracle - that the rest of your life will be just that, death can be the best thing to offer. Yes, the subject is extremely difficult, i understand that some people would do everything to make life go on, however hard or even non-existing it is (vegetable state) - and i respect that position as well. But i completely agree with decepticus about "l'acharnement th?rapeutique" - to keep someone alive by all means and may be even against the will of this person - if this person is still able to express his desires - do you have an expression for that in english ?
Also i think about the many persons kept alive through machines with nearly no chance of living normally again after they may be come out of coma after month or years and on the contrary the many other not even taken care of because of the lack of means or just their lack of proper insurance.whatever it's a crazy world. i don't say these persons should be euthanazised (how do u write this) but sometimes i would just leave it to god and pull the plug

Peace sister "Elke",
Did you read my post above? We cannot just put someone to death even he wants that because at the time of depression one might want things which he otherwise wouldnt have even dreamt off so if a cure exists, be it anywhere in the world, steps to get it must be taken. GOD Bless! -
Peace "elke",
Peace johnny k,
yes i read your post, but am still entiteled to my own position. As i said it's not an easy subject, but a case by case thing.

JK- You are indeed entitled to your own opinion. Id only appreciate it if you wld have addressed my issues so we cld discuss them. So plz tell me aint it much more reasonable to put the patient who seems to be a hopeless case into a chemically induced coma and then try to communicate with as much scientists as possible to see if there could be a cure before just putting him to death? GOD Bless!

Peace bro johnny
i never said one should be just put to death. It is normal to try to find a cure, but sometimes there is none and also think of all those that could be easily cured, but don't have the means. This is why i said, like decepticus, that "l'acharnement th?rapeutique" is not my cup of tea.
Every situation is different. One of my in-laws just died last week, and to be frank, his time would had come a few years ago already if he had been a member of a less financially fortuned family. And this may have been better actually for the whole family - these last two years were only pain and suffering for everybody. Would i have been in his case, considering age and condition, i would have asked to leave me alone to die at home and if i had the chance, to just alleviate my pain as far as possible. For sure, had it been one of my kids, i would have searched for the least possibility of a cure.
Hope u understand my position - i'm not a black and white person (anymore) - real life made me aware of grey zones.

Peace sister "Elke",
As for you not being a black and white person that is very good. Scientists are well aware of the grey zones in life and so am i. Life aint balck and white but that does not mean we should abandon thinking or seraching for a possible cure if a person is APPARENTLY dead sick. Thts the whole point. GOD Bless! -

JK- Yes but the qs is how? Who do you think wants you to use reason and science and has initated them? And now just think who uses them the doctors or the voodoo religionists including mullahs, priests, faithhealers etc. If you follow GOD's laws youll be cured. GOD Bless!
-
Peace all,
yes God cures if he wishes so, but death as well is part of his system - alhamdullilah it exists. Would you like to life forever - i mean here on this earth ?
So if you follow gods laws u'll be cured, as says Johnny but well, to die is also part of the law

There is no one Doubting that God Cures sick people but through Doctors and Medicines . God does Provide Sustenance for us all too , But, does thet mean We just sit in Prayers and expect provision to drop from the heavens? No Way , we still have to go to work and earn our Keeps . yay
By the way, It is not how long we live in this World , but How much Good we do for ourselves and for others , that's what matters .
Cheers

Peace almarh0m, all,
There is no one Doubting that God Cures sick people but through Doctors and Medicines
Not necessarily only through doctors and medicines. Good nutrition, exercise, other alternative forms of treatment including acupuncture, physical therapy etc. can also help and even miraculous cures (spontaneous resolution of a disease) are possible.
For your info, iatrogenic cause of death (death caused by doctors through prescribed medicines) is one of the leading causes of death in USA and iatrogenic morbidity (illness caused by doctors through medicines) is also very common, so traditional doctors do not always help but can contribute to sickness and death also.
Cures can happen as long as one follows the natural laws but the traditional doctors do not always follow the exact natural laws because science has not yet discovered all the natural laws and sometimes can make mistakes too !

Peace Khizar,

Firstly, when doctors discontinue advanced life support e.g. ventilators etc. in terminally ill patients at the request of patient or family (in case patient is incapacitated), it is not putting someone to death but letting nature take its course.
Secondly, even if you place a terminally ill patient on a ventilator under sedatives and muscle relaxants, it does not guarantee that the patient cannot still die.
Thirdly, resources like ventilators and ICU (intensive care units) are limited and one cannot keep a terminally ill patient on a ventilator and sedated for ever because the other patients who are seriously ill but not terminally ill will be unable to use those resources and will die, so after exhausting all the available resources, doctors have to make the decision at a certain time to discontinue life support in a terminally ill patient while making them comfortable by alleviating pain, which is not putting them to death but letting nature take its course.
What you are saying is not practical unless ventilators and ICU's are available for each and every human being on earth which is impossible.
-
Peace bro "Tanveer",
What you are saying is not practical unless ventilators and ICU's are available for each and every human being on earth which is impossible.
JK- I agree if others which have a higher probability of being cured need the system more and there are no more spares then this wold have to be done. HOWEVER it is not impossible that the above goal you mentioned is achieved. It can be ahieved once we have developed micro robots who could mass produce such machines as well as vast space stations where to place them. This is why i stress so much on the fact that wer not to stick on earth and this is not only my dream but it was that of "Carl Sagan" and is also that of "James Randi". GOD Bless!

I just want to add to the question of killing.
018.074 PICKTHAL So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said What! Hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing.
This verse must ofcourse be read in it's context.
About euthanasia, you do posess some sense right? If not, no.
