"al kitab" is translated here as "divine writ" for some reason. I believe al kitab is universal law. God's message is in the universe, which contains clear and unclear signs.

Ayat can and has been used in the Arabic language to mean BOTH sign/miracle whilst the plural ayaat can also mean verses/revelation as per 37. It all depends on the context in which the terms are used. Everyone here has to rid themselves off the idea that one term in the Quran hs only one meaning throughout. It just doesnt work that way. Languages aint built tht way neither do they function tht way be it Arabic or any other. GOD Bless! -

Which of God's laws has been broken; bring a snake to life ? was it not so in the beginning?
Lastly, how is anyone certain about what God?s physical laws really are?

Tulqiya/almulqeena/alqoo/alqaw/alqi comes from the root laqiya and means to meet, meet with, see, come across, experience, occur, undergo, endure, find out a thing, lean upon, receive, come face to face. Here it refers to throw something so the person will undergo/receive/experiences/meets it, this can be anything from an object to a word that is thrown to the opposition. For example jalasa tilqaa fulanun means to sit facing or opposite to.

Normaly this is translated as behold it became a snake. But hayyatun means becoming alive, so it was his Asa that came alive, his belief and strength that came alive and vibrant to go on his mission.

People are completely and blindly following the Bible instead of looking for the far more logical and far more guiding meanings of the stories.

i see. amazing how some translate a certain verse one way and others in a different way. like there's 2 qur'ans.
but somebody did translate it in a way that shows miracles. so in a way these translators are saying things about God that are not true.
that God gave premission to prophets to perform miracles when in fact He did not.
they're misleading people. -
They use the Bible and ancient stories as their criterion in understanding the Quran. Also they demand miracles, as they believe this is how God must prove His Power. This is the ancient way of thinking, from a time when people did not understand nature and were quickly fooled by priests and judged power on the ability to 'supernatural' things.
Now we know better, and thus can refresh our understanding of the Quran. The Quran explains itself, so to understand one story, you must research others. God explains in the Quran that His Laws do not change, and thus we can understand how to read the stories on the Prophets.
And Warner, as far is I know, biyameenika means Right hand, or Strength. I know it also means Oath, which could also fit the context.

The splitting of the sea is a rare natural phenomena, but it is no miracle
Colin Humpreys, a professor, has investigated what is called tidewinds. This when the tide has the same direction as a strong wind. This will push the water even further into one direction which will cause dry spots in lakes or even seas. In lake michigan this had occured several times, that one side were large area's had turned dry and on the other side where the tide and wind were going,the water had risen for more then 5 meters. It is like having a glass of water and blowing on the water, which will cause a rise of the water on one side and a lowering of the water on the other. C.Humpreys has investigated this for years at the red sea and found out this tidewind phenomena still occurs every so often, where a part of the sea turns dry, while on both sides there is still water. So the splitting of the sea still occurs today. The miracle with Moses then was the exact timing they were there when this tidewind occured. So the splitting is no miracle, the timing is. When the wind stops, all the water will rush back with tremendous force, which is the flood that took Pharoah and his people. See C.Humpreys book The Miracles of Exodus.

It has to do with the arabic meanings that are chosen. Darb means to hit, beat, move, march on, to move from one place to the other, to bring forth a parable, and it has more meanings. Asa has multiple meanings, and one of the meanings is people, tribe, community, conviction, willpower, believe, strengtht, something that supports; as asa refers to a state of unity/oneness.
Taud means also a raised piece of land next to meaning mountain. So the correct translation of this verse is
- So We inspired to Moses And idrib=move to Al-Bahra=the sea with bi-Asa=your people. So it split into two, each side like Taud=a raised piece of land.
To understand this how this works when the wind blows in such a way to create this rare phenomena, I recommend you to take a small basin, put a little layer of water in it, and blow hard on the water in a steep angle of like 70 degrees. You will see one side becoming higher as the water is pushed that way, but also that the wind blocks any water from the opposite side to flood into the dry spot. This needs a strong wind. It is interesting that this is directly described in the Bible as such. So it seems this part of the Bible story is pretty accrued. The miracle of this story is not the splitting of the sea, but the timing of the people of Israel. They were guided through Revelation (Wahi) to the exact spot at the exact right time when this natural phenomena would occur. God didn't need to change any natural law or had to direct this phenomena. He only needed to guide the people to the exact spot.
