The Bee- or something other.

Salaam all
Why hasn't a doctor or a biologist responded here?
From my humble medical knowledge, natural honey is fructose, not glucose. The difference is that glucose molecules need insuline as a vehicle to enter them into the cell so that they are broken down and are made use of. Fructose does not need insuline.
Secondly, diabetes is caused by either the quality or the quantity of insuline, not on the intake of sugar.
Dearest Samia,
Thank you for your response But,
Why on earth are you making the existing translation your idol?
Idolatry is forbidden - don't you know?
Here is some research on your fructose thingy.
Fructose, weight gain, and the insulin resistance syndrome
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Vol. 76, No. 5, 911-922, November 2002
? 2002 American Society for Clinical NutritionSharon S Elliott, Nancy L Keim, Judith S Stern, Karen Teff and Peter J Havel
From the Department of Nutrition, University of California, Davis (SSE, JSS, and PJH); the US Department of Agriculture Western Human Nutrition Research Center, Davis, CA (NLK); and the Monell Chemical Senses Institute and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (KT).
This review explores whether fructose consumption might be a contributing factor to the development of obesity and the accompanying metabolic abnormalities observed in the insulin resistance syndrome. The per capita disappearance data for fructose from the combined consumption of sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup have increased by 26%, from 64 g/d in 1970 to 81 g/d in 1997. Both plasma insulin and leptin act in the central nervous system in the long-term regulation of energy homeostasis. Because fructose does not stimulate insulin secretion from pancreatic ? cells, the consumption of foods and beverages containing fructose produces smaller postprandial insulin excursions than does consumption of glucose-containing carbohydrate. Because leptin production is regulated by insulin responses to meals, fructose consumption also reduces circulating leptin concentrations. The combined effects of lowered circulating leptin and insulin in individuals who consume diets that are high in dietary fructose could therefore increase the likelihood of weight gain and its associated metabolic sequelae. In addition, fructose, compared with glucose, is preferentially metabolized to lipid in the liver. Fructose consumption induces insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, hyperinsulinemia, hypertriacylglycerolemia, and hypertension in animal models. The data in humans are less clear. Although there are existing data on the metabolic and endocrine effects of dietary fructose that suggest that increased consumption of fructose may be detrimental in terms of body weight and adiposity and the metabolic indexes associated with the insulin resistance syndrome, much more research is needed to fully understand the metabolic effect of dietary fructose in humans.
and the conclusions from another University research
Conclusions Dietary fructose was associated with increased fasting and postprandial plasma triacylglycerol concentrations in men. Diets high in added fructose may be undesirable, particularly for men. Glucose may be a suitable replacement sugar.
May God Bless You.

Why on earth are you making the existing translation your idol?
What translation are you talking about? This is my humble knowledge, not translation, and it is in response to the following
Hi,
Just pondering why is honey so important when it, to my knowledge is sugar and deadly for the diabetics and actually, to my knowledge causes diabetes if used in excess.
May He Bless us everyone.
Why is your "knowledge" admissable, but mine is idolatry?
Your articles on fructose diets are off point, since they relate to non diabetics, and even here, are not clear and need more research. The conclusion suggests that glucose be the replacement sugar. This definitely is not an advise to someone who does not have insuline in the first place.

Salaams Samia,
What translation are you talking about?
I thought your post was indicating that the ayah is about honey!
My suggestion was its not about honey (see my previous posts) - as honey isn't always good for us, and Allah?s advice is supposed to be good for us For Always - I think, don't you?
Thanks but
Sorry if I misunderstood you though.
God Bless.

Just summerising,
I doubt it was ever anything to do with bees or honey.

Peace bro "simple",
Salaams Nurd, Yusha, Jonny,
There are hundreds of natural antibiotics not just honey.
Is Allah talking about Honey? No - I doubt it.
If Allah was going to talk about something of bees then it should be the royal jelly which out weighs the benefits of honey by miles.
http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=11654.msg79946#msg79946
And if something was worth mentioning then it would have been mother?s milk if anything - it has so many things of benefit for humans.
So whether we believe it is about honey or learning from those people who are more successful then us.......
In the modern countries people do learn from those who are more successful as the Ayah says i think.
God Bless.
JK- The context clearly implies a bee and how from its bellies a liquid of various colors issues. There is also a mathemtical correlation btw the sura no and the no of chromosomes int the bee. Then theres the amazing hexagonal shape the bees create with the honey and bro bahman has done a lot of research on tht. I cant just throw all tht down the drain n accept your out of the blue interpretation for the word "nahl" as being anyhing other than a bee. GOD Bless!
-
Salaams Jonny,
your out of the blue interpretation for the word "nahl"
Br the meaning is that quranic dictionary gave - not me.
But it seems a good recommendation by God - "don't simply throw everything to fate?, "if you want to be a success copy those who are likewise - the successful ones.".
From the existing translations He simply keeps pointing to trees, hills, bees.heavens, earth e.t.c I am sure we can all see those, can't we?
Thanks Though.
-
Salaams Br,
and i thought the traditional quran was talking about eating honey! rather then painting yourself with it.
giveup
Gods Blessings Br.
