You are just jealous, Alhamdulillah Bukhari and Muslim told us that prophets have more power.

Bukhari (PBUH)? Oh, OK, I see. Thanks for the overwhelming evidence.

AgentXXX, let me introduce to you a concept that will most likely invalidate the interpretation of the Quranic verses you cited - time. As time tends towards increasing, people tend towards changing. Now, over a significantly long period, i.e. 630 years, would you say the same people inhabited Makkah as they did before? In other words, when God says "people to whom no warner came before", it could simply mean that so many generations passed, that all knowledge of the previous warners died completely.

Then prophet mohammed is also not descendant of Ibrahim!

I wonder where this "burraq" was at the time of Mohammed's hijrat to Medina confused

          I didn't mean that...

I meant that supposing a warner came to those in Makkah, or Jerusalem, or Mars, over 600 years, the knowledge of such a warner could possibly be lost, hence the Quranic verses cited could not be used to prove/disprove anything in this specific reference frame.

The knowledge in the memories of people could lost but Allah never forgets. Why did god says no warner has come to their forefathers 366 ? Did god forget? Astaghfirullahi 3theem.

God does not forget, I forget though. The word "fathers" was pretty bloody invisible to me! Sorry, my bad.

But if you are to use this verse in such a way, it would imply that Muhammad was based in Makkah, but Jerusalem was the "bayt-al-haram"?

We can investigate this further.......but we are sure now that no warner ever came to them before....

Just to clarify... most of the oil/gas resources in the Hejaz are in the eastern provinces, and the hejaz has only been SA until recently with the Wahabi Saudi family take-over...
Lets steer clear from magic please..., and I do not wish to get into an argument about Djinns either

Ok if no oil then what about Zam-Zam water? Isn't it also a special thing of mecca? You cannot misguide innocent muslims.Alhamdulillah.

Is there empirical evidence to it having any intrinsic value, or nutrition, or, well, anything, aside from a few randomly narrated stories of it having cured cancer, AIDS, etc?

By the way, ALL OF YOU, including me

SHAKIR And even if you bring to those who have been given the Book every sign they would not follow your qiblah, nor can you be a follower of their qiblah, neither are they the followers of each other's qiblah, and if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, then you shall most surely be among the unjust.

                                This is a true story.
In my small town there was a woman who was very eager to go to Hajj, and to taste the water of zam zam which everyone was saying was very delicious and sweet. One day she knew someone came from hajj and had zam zam water with them. She went and was served the water. She sipped from the glass, put it down and stayed quiet.

                                • Heh? Why are you quiet? How did you find the water?
                                  The woman replied
                                • If this is the delicious zam zam, I am now worried about the taste of al-Kawthar!

rotfl sums it up. I laughed from my heart at that.

                                      Another verse of key importance

                                      002.143
YUSUFALI Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.
PICKTHAL Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you. And We appointed the qiblah which ye formerly observed only that We might know him who followeth the messenger, from him who turneth on his heels. In truth it was a hard (test) save for those whom Allah guided. But it was not Allah's purpose that your faith should be in vain, for Allah is Full of Pity, Merciful toward mankind.
SHAKIR And thus We have made you a medium (just) nation that you may be the bearers of witness to the people and (that) the Messenger may be a bearer of witness to you; and We did not make that which you would have to be the qiblah but that We might distinguish him who follows the Messenger from him who turns back upon his heels, and this was surely hard except for those whom Allah has guided aright; and Allah was not going to make your faith to be fruitless; most surely Allah is Affectionate, Merciful to the people.

Damn, just read the whole surah!

                                      Edit Oh, surprise...

                                      002.144
SHAKIR Indeed We see the turning of your face to heaven, so We shall surely turn you to a qiblah which you shall like; turn then your face towards the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you are, turn your face towards it, and those who have been given the Book most surely know that it is the truth from their Lord; and Allah is not at all heedless of what they do.

                                        Correction
Overall I do not have many problems with Hadith, I just do not accept them as a source of law, divine guidance, or even accurate historical accounts, The Quran is far enough for me, and if I would follow most it says, I will be very pious indeed...
                                        thanks to Bro Tanveer
