I often hear that the terms salafis and wahabis are used interchangeably. Regarding the stance of wahabis/salafis toward hadiths, we can read a qoute below

      http//www.answering-christianity.com/response_to_jalal_abulrub.htm

The wahabis/salafis stance toward hadiths can be summarized in the last quote where those wahabis/salafis challenge anyone to bring one authentic hadith which contradicts quran (just one suffices, no need to bring many!).

Tell them to talk to RasulHamsa. So now we have moved from "Bring a surah like it" to "Bring a hadeeth like it" rotfl

That's easy.. bring up the Hadith about Shahada.. D
They believe even Adam proclaim the shahada.. now that's contradicts even the very basic of logic..

            Peace

Actually it is more accurate to say that Wahabists follow Sunni Hadith alone. If they follow Quran alone they wouldnt be executing adulterers by stoning or beheading in Saudi Arabia.

What I meant is in regards to all sects. Are they the closest to being Quran Alone without following much tradition like others, such as Sunnis and Shias. As far as stoning and beheading, does that make their crime level low? Also with the cutting off of hands of thieves. Does it help their society?

Never seen that on Osamas site before. Osama is a really nice guy though, Ive talked to him a couple of times and he has a great site. I really liked his animal section.

Thanks for that quote though, its funny how he turns a quranic verse into something to prove hadith existance as being wrong. If anything, he should have used that statement for the Quran.

This is why I brought this topic up. Sunnis and Shias do not like Wahabbis because Wahabbis say that there actions are Polytheist, in which our view would be the same as well (at least for most of us). If youve seen my video of the Shia trying to praise Muhammad, the Wahabbis dont let them do it at all. However, they feel that they need to so they still go. Instead of venerating God, they rather go see a grave. Not that I should tell them what to do, but just trying to bring up the reason I thought Wahabbis and Quran alone Muslims were similar.

Obviously a Sunni is not going to have a nice thing to say. However I find it contradictory since Sunnis according to Hadith state that all apostates should be killed, but this person states it as a negative if the Wahabbi does it for finding them commiting shirk.

              LOL

If the "quiz" said for every hadith which contradicts quran they award prize, say $500, I would compete with RasulHamsa ;D

Such hadith depicts Muhammad on the status of God's partner I would say ...

And what those wahabis/salafis are believing is no different from that of shia

When God created Adam and taught him the names of all things, the first of these names he learned where those of the 14 infallible Imams.

Wow...those are ridiculous. However, what if the tablet does have that inscribed on it? I mean its in a museum, right? Have they carbon dated it to your knowledge?

Also, the idea of Muhammad being before the big bang...I think thats the Christian idea of Jesus, even Jehovahs Witness. According to the Quran, were we all before the big bang (if that happened). I remember Rashad Khalifa stated that we made a mistake in Heaven by aligning ourselves with Shaitan and then we were given a second chance to redeem, which is on earth. Doesnt the Quran allude to something like that? I dont remember the exact verses.

                    Wa Salaam

Yeah, it is probably because the early Christian converts brought along this story with a little a change of the 'character' as they were also undergoing a change of religion.

                            Hmm.

I don't know, wahhabis are definently Bukhari worshipers. The Quran to them is a decor but their definition of tawheed is very similar to amny people who identify with the Quranist thinking. I always wondered about that, but other than their definition of tawheed and shirk, there is absolutely nothing the wahhabis and quranist have in common, nothing. So other than their belief that Muslims are practicing shirk when visiting shrines and seeking intercession of pious saints, I see nothing in common.

I also think that the Quranist definition of shirk differ from the wahhabis. The Quranist do not necessarily see tawassul as "pure" polytheism as the wahhabis do and since the Quranist do not believe in death to an apostate they do not follow that with violence. I still think its a disturbing similarity however hypno, but thats just my 2 cents.

Anyways wahhabis kill the heart, just being around them can kill the heart. They are bad news.

Actually, I posted a comment regarding this yesterday but I think there was an error -[ ...I will repeat now

As far as I know, compared to sunnis, I would say wahabis/salafis are hardcore HADITH ELEVATORS. I have posted their challenge to bring one shahih hadith which contradicts quran in this thread. Sunnis (some of them) can still reject few hadiths such as hadiths pertaining to the second coming of Jesus. Please CMIIW peace

As for wahabis/salafis and shias, a direct comparison is not possible since both have their own set of hadiths as authoritative divine revelations in their religion.

Well if you think about it most other Muslims follow a load of other crap on top of Hadith, so in a way the Wahabis/Salafis' strict adherence to 'Sahih' hadith alone does kinda make them closer, but obviously the relative 'closeness' is negligible
