    Salaam Aleikum,

    PRAYER?

    http//www.free-minds.org/articles/quranic/salat.htm

This article is complete, it explains all the Ayahs involved, the amount of Rakaah, the timings. All of it.

    ZAKAH?

? And they ask you what they should give. Say, "All that is surplus."

2219 They ask you (O Messenger), concerning alcohol, intoxicants, games of chance, and gambling and money earned without labor. Say, ?There is great detriment in these things as well as some benefits for mankind. But the detriment of them is much greater than the benefit of them. They drag down the individual and collective social potential.? And they ask you what they should give. Say, "All that is surplus." Thus Allah makes His Messages plain for you, that you may reflect -

6141 And He is the One Who initiated gardens; both trellised and untrellised; and palm trees, and plants, all with different taste; and olives and pomegranates, similar and not similar. Eat from its fruit when it blossoms and give its due on the day of harvest; and do not waste. He does not like the wasteful.

There is no percentage given in the Quran for Zakah as this is determined by the need of the State. The People must give what they can spare, leaving the responsibility to themselves and they must pay this on the day they receive their payment, be it in crops or money.

    FASTING?

2183 O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you as it was decreed for those before you perhaps you may be righteous.
2184 A few number of days. Whoever of you is ill or traveling, then the same number from different days; and as for those who can do so but with difficulty, they may redeem by feeding the needy. And whoever does good voluntarily, then it is better for him. And if you fast it is better for you if you knew.
2185 A month in early autumn, in which the Quran was sent down as a guide to the people and a clarification of the guidance and the criterion. Therefore, whoever of you can observe the season, then let him fast therein. And whoever is ill or traveling, then the same number from different days. God wants to bring you ease and not to bring you hardship; and so that you may complete the count, and glorify God for what He has guided you, that you may be thankful.
2187 It has been made lawful for you during the night of fasting to approach your women sexually. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. God knows that you used to betray your souls so He has accepted your repentance, and forgiven you; now you may approach them and seek what God has written for you. And you may eat and drink until the white thread is distinct from the black thread of dawn; then you shall complete the fast until night; and do not approach them while you are devoted in the temples. These are God's boundaries, so do not transgress them. It is thus that God makes His revelations clear to the people that they may be righteous.

Do you need more then the above rules? All the little details you will probably demand to see are not in the Quran because they do not belong in Islam as Allah does not forget.

    HAJJ?

I already completely explianed it in my article. All the relevant verses are given. If you again demand to know where are the details that are present in the current Hajj, then again, God does not forget, they do not belong in Islam and most can be traced to pagan rituals of the Arabs.

All the other demands you give as funeral prayer are all not in the Quran as God does not deem them part of Islam. Humans have made them part of Islam.

You can scream and shout, but the Quran contains all answers (12111). That it does not always give the same answer as is given in Sunnism or the other sects, is because they follow man-made rules and not the Quranic system of Life. If you cannot accept this possibility, then I remind you of 1736 and...

2170 And if they are told "Follow what God has sent down," they Say "No, we will follow what we found our fathers doing!" What if their fathers did not understand anything and were not guided?

5104 And if they are told "Come to what God has sent down, and to the messenger;" they Say "We are content with what we found our fathers doing." What if their fathers did not know anything nor were guided?

6148 Those who have set up partners will Say "If God wished, we would not have set up partners, nor would have our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything." Those before them lied in the same way, until they tasted Our might. Say "Do you have any knowledge to bring out to us? You only follow conjecture, you only guess."

728 And if they commit evil acts, they Say "We found our fathers doing such, and God ordered us to it." Say "God does not order evil! Do you say about God what you do not know?"
770 They said "Have you come to us to serve God alone and abandon what our fathers had served? Bring us what you promise if you are of the truthful ones!"

1078 They said "Have you come to us to turn us away from that which we found our fathers upon, and so that you two would have greatness in the land? We will not believe in you."

1162 They said "O Saleh, you were well liked amongst us before this. Do you deter us from serving what our fathers served? We are in serious doubt as to what you are inviting us."
1187 They said "O Shu'ayb, does your contact-method order you that we leave what our fathers served, or that we do not do with our money as we please? You are the compassionate, the sane!"
11109 So do not be in doubt as to what these men serve. They serve nothing but what their fathers before them served. We will give them their recompense in full

1.The Quran and all its goals are meant for us to unite mankind on Earth. so we can create Paradise here, which will be continued in the Next Life. The Quran only explains Allah, not how we should acknowledge Him through rituals.

2.The Quran is complete and detailed.

    Aleikum Salaam

Indeed Quran is complete and detailed.
      Nice work Arnold Mol.

      For example
When discussing it with one Ahl-e-HAdith personality about "Wudu" he said that how can you make a full "wudu" without the help of Hadith and Sunnah, he was unable to understand that the full wudu is in Quran and rest is addition, but during discuusion he even passed the remarks that in some aspects Quran is incomplete and Prophet had to complete it by doing the practical. Well he is not to be blamed 100% it is what he is taught from child hood.

Some thing you ask more than that of Quran is addition or deletion in the words of God if you believe so.

But that does not undermines the importance of Hadith and Sunnah in any case, we can't just reject 3/4 of the Islamic history just right away without doing the research.

      Arnold wrote

      1. O you who believe, obey God and the Prophet and those in authority among you; and if you are at variance over something, refer it to God and the Messenger, if you believe in God and the Last Day. This is good for you and the best of settlement.

So we now have these very important issues gained from our research

      1. The Quran contains the complete timeless Code of Law for the Islamic Ummah.
      2. No outside Revelation is given to the Messenger, only the Quran.
      3. We must obey the Messenger.
      4. We must obey the Leaders of the Islamic State.

"Obey those in authority among you"

I think this refers to the persons who are "Masters" of their fields such as "Doctors" , "Scientists" "LAw makers", "Imams" etc.

So to what realm does obeying the Messenger refer too? Muhammed was the ruler of the Islamic State. People had to swear an oath to accept him as their leader, he was chosen

Does Quran allows an Islamic state?

Yes! according to you, and Muhammad was the leader of first Islamic state, then how come you ignore his SUNNAH??, he was the Model for a new state.
      For example
When the Quran set this high goal for humanity it also provided working principles for achieving it in the human world. This is what the Prophet accomplished with the help of his companions. He created a true multiethnic and multiracial society for the first time in human history. The ultimate goal, of course, was to include all humanity in this ideal. By knocking out all barriers political, social, economical, and geographical a global society could be created based on equality and freedom for all human beings. This, then is the Sunnah. Our practice of Sunnah must lead to this goal set by the Quran and implemented by the Prophet. Otherwise, we belie Islam (1071-7) as well as the Sunnah of the Prophet.

When you study critically any government especially the one which is the first Government of its kind, how can you ignore the life, the events the chracters of that time, which were part and parcel of that government; you simply cannot.
Now to dig out truth from falsehood from that heap of work is our duty as I always say, which is very difficult, the reason most of us chose the easy way by saying "HADITH AND SUNNAH IS A TRASH".

454 Say "Obey Allah, and OBEY THE MESSENGER. but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to preach the clear (Message).

        Salaam Aleikum,

I do study the history of Islam, but I will never see anything outside of the Quran as Divine. The history of Medina is important and of course we must learn from it, just as we must learn from all history as the Quran continiously points out.

The question is not "Should we completely ignore history?", certainly not. I have learned much from studying the Prophet's history and behaviour, but I do not see that History as Wahi, Revelation. This is the whole point.

We must learn to see the difference between history and Wahi, and also that the Quran is the Furqan, the Criterion. So the Quran can never be looked through the glasses of tradition and history as is done now. We must look at all things, be it science, history or traditions, through the glasses of the Quran.

Ideas and ideology is corrupted in the passage of time through corrupting the perception and meanings of the words used in describing that ideology. By translating the word emanating from the Root ? ? as ?obey? at most of the places, we have distorted the entire idea. The perception conveyed by the English word ?obey? is to follow instruction or behave in accordance with the law or rules; be controlled by somebody or something. And for ?? {Root } we translate it as ?follow? which also means ?obey someone or something?. These two English words squeeze/shorten the distance and distinction between the Arabic words and .

Both these Arabic words are distinct from each other in nature and character. One refers to theory and the other relates to practical. is a physical act; following the footsteps or acting in the manner described in the statement/hadith {meaning saying}.

Act is always a second step not the first. We act on the thing which we have consciously and open heartedly accepted. We first listen to the word of Allah said by his Messenger and decide to accept or turn away from it. When we accept it then we follow it. We have never been asked to ?? for Allah but we have been asked to ?? Messenger and that has been explained that ?? the Book and do not follow other . Over a period of time many people assumed the status of by spreading fascinating things to attract people around them and then it became a tradition fully absorbed into the blood of the posterity.

The Book is the ?Hadith? {saying} of Allah uttered as ?? of the Messenger. There can be no ?? unless there existed previously a ?Hadith?. Therefore ?? of the Messenger is the Hadith of Allah. When we accept the words of Messenger stated by him from the Quran we actually accept the Hadith of Allah and then we?? it.

The issue has been discussed in detail in a 22 page article in Urdu at site

              Another example

              IMAM ABU HANIFA

              Answer

The Quran tells us in some verses that the messenger was to give the knowledge of Al-Kitab and Al-Hikmah, i.e. the Book and the Wisdom. Al-Kitab or The Book refers to the Quran while Al-Hikmah or The Wisdom, is something other than the Quran and it is the un-recited, hidden revelation which the messenger received outside of the Quran and which is contained in the Books of traditions.

              CLARIFICATION

When the Quran gives a concept then it does not leave it hanging in the air, but it also defines that concept. It is stated in certain verses of the Quran that the messenger of Allah was to give the knowledge of Al-Kitab and Hikmah. Now the Quran will itself define what is Al-Kitab, i.e. The Book or written laws, and what consists of Hikmah i.e. wisdom. The following verses inform us

"Our Sustainer! and raise up in them a messenger from among them who shall recite to them your verses and give them knowledge of The Book and the wisdom, and proivide development to their personalities; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise." (2129)

"Certainly Allah conferred a favour upon the believers when He raised among them a messenger from among themselves, reciting to them His verses and providing development to their personalities, and giving them the knowledge of the Book and the wisdom, although before that they were surely in manifest error." The answer to my question should be just one line but unfortunately it is still lacking .

                      I repeat my question;
Which word in the Aya has been translated as "giving".
I do not find that "giving" in this translation which you have provided.
The question is very simple but you are beating about the bush but not answering my question like 2+2 = 4

                      You said

My dearest brother, hopefully you?ll reply and not ?beat around the bush.?

I did answer and left it as ?teach/instruct? so you can come back to tell us it means we are supposed to follow in every detail from sleeping, walking, eating, etc., except perhaps the sunna of eating watermelon ? no joke and remember according to one of the sunni schools of thought (Maliki perhaps) they weren?t sure to cut it with a knife or bite, thus refused to eat watermelon.

Please correct your vision; I said

100s of times = multiple hundreds not 100.

I?ll leave it to the original author to present the translation, although ?teach/instruct? can be interpreted as ?give? lessons or a lecture.

Waiting for answers to my simple questions above you keep dodging.

Would you please let me know which "b^ab" of arabic this word " belong to?
Which properties of meaning does this b^ab carry ?
If you had known this, you would have consulted the dictionary correctly.

While you are talking about roots; perhaps explain how God taught per above verse?

Oh, started learning Arabic; therefore still prefer left-to-right and stuff like this is very difficult to see.

                                    Dear Leoxyz,

The things are quite clear. Allah says that the Book has been sent upon "you people". You know and I know the Book was sent to the Last Messenger. It is thus evident that the Book was sent for "We the people". And Allah says follow the Book. What people say and attribute it the Last Messenger is no more than scud, non verifiable. Teaching the Book denotes nothing else but communicating what is written in the Book to other people. Hundreds of people kept asking the Messenger to tell them something other than Quran but he always refused to say anything other than Quran as is recorded in the Quran. If the Messenger said many things so that it could reach you and me through a chain of people, good and bad includud, why was he so reluctant to "teach" those people one or two things from himself?

                                      Dear Leoxyz,

                                      The things are quite clear. Allah says that the Book has been sent upon "you people". You know and I know the Book was sent to the Last Messenger. It is thus evident that the Book was sent for "We the people". And Allah says follow the Book. What people say and attribute it the Last Messenger is no more than scud, non verifiable. Teaching the Book denotes nothing else but communicating what is written in the Book to other people. Hundreds of people kept asking the Messenger to tell them something other than Quran but he always refused to say anything other than Quran as is recorded in the Quran.                                       Dear Brother ;
I have seen a common practice on this forum ,that people usually avoid the revalent question and start a thing which is not relevant.
My question was simple ,I repeat
Are the folowing two actions synonymous
                                      1To give a book
                                      2To teach/instruct a book
                                      ???????
If possible answer in "yes" or" no'

Yes, it is in many ways one and the same thing. It would be stupid on my part to hand over a book to someone about whom I know he cannot read the book. If you can't read a book in Japanese and I know it, and even then I give you a book saying it is an excellent book, you may feel I am making fun of you. I will read it to you its contents in the language you understand. You read out the book only to those who are listening to you in front of you. For the posterity you will leave the book in writing. Messengers taught people what they did not know earlier and that included his own person. It was to tell what is written in the Book revealed to him. There is a mention of our promise/agreement and that is only about the Book not about the so called teachings collected/compiled by people after unnecessarily roaming from city to city despite the fact that they knew that any one who decides in any matter and in any manner and other than what is sent in the Book is a Fasiq, Zalim and Kafir.

If this is the condition of "Balagha" of the language ,honestly I have become dumb.
