The Aya starts with the single you and then moves to plural you when talking about parents. It was not talking to the prophet alone except at it's beginning. Your conclusion is then too stretched.
The aya under discussion is
1723 Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them to attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.

Since my arabic knowledge is very limited, can somebody confirm whether Hussein is telling the truth or not? Thanks.He is telling the opposite of the truth The verse starts with a plural verb for "that ye worship none save Him", then shifts to the singular.

As far as arabic is concerned I again admit my weakness. I do not know it.Had I known it I would have said" Muarraf bilaam" nouns are "common nouns" -

Yes you're right. If I remember, there was a thread where it was discussed that God does not address an individual except prophets or by name. No general address is made to the singular "you". But this is really a very interesting notice from your part. Yet a further proof from the qur'aan exposing a deeply rooted very common false story. Well done.

That is not my point. My point is the history of the prophet as has been taught to us (that the prophet's father died before he was born, that his mother passed away when he was six) is completely wrong. Why? Because the prophet still had both father and mother when he received the revelations.
Even if we assume the history that the prophet received revelations when he was forty is true, then still according to the verse at the age of forty the prophet still had both father and mother (unlike what have been taught to us). Got it?
If you disagree with my understanding of the verse (that the prophet still had both father and mother when he received revelations), then tell your understanding so that we can discuss. If yours is better than mine, I will accept yours. Thanks.

Aya4615 clearly illustrates the meaning of 1723 that this address is to all human beings.
Have you pondered upon the verses 2170, 4135, 923-24, 1187, 185, etc.and 4324 somehow displaying mischieviousness. -

I'd suggest you search and collect all verses pertaining to "parents" and see if you can make any heads and tails of it. Besides, it will give you a chance to actually read the "Great Reading". -

yes research is very difficult for "Quranists".
They hide the verses arabic text so that they can extract the meaning of their liking and people should believe blindly.
Sorry I do not follow this style .I believe in Facts not on hearsay.
